NIGERIAN ARMY NOT YET PEOPLS' ARMY

Nigerian Army marks 150 years of its formation in fun fare of recent. I really wish all my families ,friends who have served and still serving and entire officers and men well for a job well done. Am proud of you guys.

Be that as it may, the Nigerian Army of the present moment is not yet the peoples' Army; the simple reason is that''it was formed in 1863 to attack Nigerian people as an instrument of colonial power''.....hence, this is an organisation conceived and born to oppress and brutalize the people of Nigeria .

By following the trend of events of !966 coup and counter-coups that follows, even up-till the time of General Sanni Abacha, majority of Nigerian will agree with me that this organisation called ''Nigerian Army'' is a gestapo that meant to humiliate, oppress, cage, suppress and brutalize the ''Bloody Civilians''and make them a 'Yes sir'people.

With the suspension of the constitution anytime they over-thrown the legitimate government ,banning of the political parties, imposing curfew, arresting and terrorizing who is who is the society, caging of the press and the journalist are all the grand-plan of its aim of formation in the first instance....''to attack''.What will the people say about Odi massacre?

In my own view, i see this present Nigerian Army as a ''CULT'' that only protect themselves and power that be. without God father-ism you cannot get into Nigeria Defense Academy ,not even a recruitment depot....dont just talk about promotion, because the rank of General and General Officer Commanding are meant for certain people in certain parts of the country!!!

The way forward in my opinion is that we need to re-orientate the new generation of the officers and men who were currently recruit into the organisation to be people friendly.

1.The selection into the Nigerian Army must be based on merit.

2.The promotion withing the organisation have to be on merit without fear or favor.

3.All the corrupt officers need to get rid off.

4.Let us promote a good and friendly environment for  the officers and men to operate on.

Lastly, together we will build a good, formidable strong Nigerian Army. Once again i wish Nigeria and Nigerian Army a wonderful celebration.
