OBA OF LAGOS IS NOT A TRIBALIST

According to Collins Discovery Encyclopaedia, 1st edition © HarperCollins Publishers 2005, Suffrage is defined as: 1. the right to vote, especially in public elections; franchise
2. the exercise of such a right; casting a vote
3. a supporting vote
4. a prayer, especially a short intercessory prayer.

Fast-forward, two central issues for democracies are the right to candidate, and suffrage or the franchise—that is, the decision as to who is entitled to vote.

Thou, am not in support of the Oba’s comment and threat to the Igbos, because it is their choice to vote for whomever they like in an elections. Having said that, the comments also need a closer scrutiny judging by the document in circulation titled ‘’The Evil of Broom Government against Ndigbo in Lagos’’ (Read the document below)!!!

However, I do not know whether this document is fake or not, let assume that this document is authentic, no Traditional ruler will love to be dictated to by other tribe(s).The notion and the thinking of non-Yoruba staying in Lagos are that ‘Lagos is no man’s land’’! To me, that is an insult to my race. Can this statement be applicable to Kano or Imo states?

According to one commentator, Okobiemen Victor, he wrote;’’ Ibos should pls stop weeping up tribal sentiments what you'll not condone in your own land don't try it in other people's land. We know you like dominance and that's why the Oba does not want you to blackmail him or the broom govt. Let's just say it's the kind of words a father uses to drive a child away from an imminent danger.’’
