UPDATE: ALHAJI WHO ALLEGEDLY KILL MISS JOY ODAMA DECLARED WANTED

The Abuja-based Alhaji Usman Adamu , who allegedly killed one Miss Joy Odama,(Read the story here) a 200 Level Mass Communication undergraduate of Cross River State University, has been declared wanted by the Police Force Headquarters.

Aside declaring Alhaji Adamu wanted, the Force Headquarters also said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Karmo, where the alleged murder took place (names withheld), has been queried, removed and transferred over what was described as “professional misconduct” over Joy’s death.


Confirming the issuance of arrest warrant on Alhaji Adamu, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Jimoh Moshood, said: “The said Alhaji Adamu is on the run, but we are looking for him because he has a case to answer.



The autopsy report from the National Hospital, Abuja, has revealed that Joy died of acute cocaine poison. Late Joy Odama The report indicated cardiogenic shock secondary to diffusion as part of cause for death.



The report reads in part: “The cause of death was traced to cardiogenic shock secondary to diffusion, myocardial infarction secondary to possible acute cocaine poison.”



Meanwhile, the Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade, have stepped into the case and promised to bring the killer of Odama to book, and also constituted a strong legal team to pursue the matter to logical conclusion.

“All Police Commands across the country have been alerted that the Alhaji is a suspect in the death of Miss Joy Odama and should be arrested if seen anywhere.

On the transfer of Karmo DPO, Moshood confirmed his query and removal, saying it was for inefficiency.
It could be recalled that in a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; the Senate President; Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives; Yakubu Dogara, the mother of the deceased, Philomena Odama, said that the last day she saw her daughter was when she left for Alhaji’s place.

She also lamented that the Alhaji later offered the family N400,000 to drop the matter after it was reported to the Police.
