The suspects were arrested in Sapele and other communities in Delta State. It was also gathered that the kidnappers also collected N61 million ransom before he was released.

Dr. Ehanire, who is also a brother to the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, spent three weeks in the den of the kidnappers before he was released. The kidnappers collected N25 million and another $100,000. The sum of N800,000 was said to have been recovered from the wife of one of the suspects, who was also arrested for conspiracy.
Narrating how Dr. Ehanire was abducted and why they killed the three police operatives on duty on the fateful day, one of the suspected kidnappers, said they had earlier attempted to carry out the abduction twice but were prevented by the presence of policemen.
The suspect said it was the third attempt they shot the three policemen and took their target away through the waterways.
He also confessed their attempt to burn the vehicle they used for the operation failed as there was no matches to ignite a fire.
Edo Police spokesman, DSP Moses Nkombe, who confirmed the arrest, said efforts were on to arrest other fleeing suspects.

The incident happened at Ben Bright Street in Ago Okota, Lagos where Chima’s elder sister, Rachel reside with her husband, barely one month after the couple families had concluded plans for the traditional marriage and church wedding back home in Anambra State.
It was alleged that Chima sent Chioma to his elder sister, Rachel from Onitsha in Anambra to Lagos to conclude plans for their wedding as agreed by both family. When Chioma got to Rachel’s house, she was given free access to enter into their rooms including their bedroom.
Rachel was said to have sent Chioma to their bedroom fridge for her to bring out the meat which they will use to cook. When she got there, she was said to have stolen one thousand six hundred dollars ($1,600) that Rachel’s husband had kept inside the fridge and went away.
However, the theft was exposed when she went to change the money at a local bureau de change in the street. She was shortchanged and given fake dollars which resulted in altercation between her and the operator of the local bureau de change.
When Rachel’s husband later returned from work and looked for the money, he did not find it. He asked around and Chioma then confessed taking it, claiming that she did not know what came over her to steal the money.She was handed over to the police at Ago Division and she was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for stealing.
She pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Adedayo granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
However, iy was gathered that both Chima and his family have washed their hands off and cancelled the marriage.

COURT FIXES NOVEMBER 11 FOR RULING IN THE TRIAL OF EVANS
Evans who was in court today was rearranged on a fresh charge, 7 count charge of conspiracy, attempted kidnap, attempted murder and murder.
The presiding judge, Justice Tawio listened to the argument from both counsels on whether or not to quash the charges against Evans.
But the defence argued that the accused person already has a case against him at the state high court Ikeja, on the same offence which is a gross abuse of court process. He added that bringing another case on the same offence against the suspect will amount to repetition and duplication of charges.
In response, the prosecution stated that the defence is in total misinterpretation/ misunderstanding of the word duplicity. The DPP adds that according to sec 153 of the ACJ 2015 a count should contain one single offence, containing more than one offence will means bad for duplicity. Therefore when an offence is committed on separate days, in this case, the offence of attempted kidnapping was committed in 2014, which can be brought in different courts.
Evans and three others are being charged with murder of Peter Nweke and Chigozie Ngozi who are said to be police officers attached to the Chairman of “The Young Shall Grow Motors”, Vincent Amaechi Obianodo and also attempted kidnap of the transport boss.
