MERMAID TURNS INTO OCTOPUS ?

The story going around about this strange ''mermaid'' fish saw by a certain fish seller in Ibadan a city in South-West, Nigeria is getting confused!!! This fish seller is now giving two version of contradicting statement, from this two stories now, which of it can we hold on to? Why is it that we always hid certain fact from the people? Is it true that the fish in question was a mermaid?.....

                                  STATEMENT 1
She said, “I went to where we usually buy fish at Kola Eleja, Oke Ado, Ibadan. After I finished, I boarded Okada to my place to prepare the fish for sale.
Before getting the fish out of the ice-pack, we needed to use knife to remove them and use water to de-freeze. I was shocked to see the frozen fish developed into a living being in the water, the description of which showed half human and half fish. I quickly called my father and some Alfas to see the strange fish”.
The father of the woman, a retired civil servant, Pa Rauf Salawu who corroborated the story said he had never seen such a thing before.
He narrated his own side of the story saying, “it was around 11am, when I started hearing the voice of my daughter while I was resting on my bed. She was shouting and screaming to the extent that people in the compound were attracted.
Then, I decided to check what was the problem. I took along my Quran and on getting there, my daughter had gone to call another Muslim leader in the neighborhood.
I saw the strange fish inside water in the bucket . It was strange, how can a fish bought in the cold room develop into human. That I cannot fully explain.”
Due to the crowd, police men from Mapo police station were there to control the crowd.
The fish seller was then taken into the custody of the police. Several calls made to the police were not picked.
                                         STATEMENT 2

“It was frozen dead when I discovered it. What happened was that when I saw it initially, I discountenanced it and threw it in the dustbin. But on a second thought, I picked it up again because I wanted to show it to my sister, who had been selling fish before me.
“I only wanted to ask her if she had seen a strange creature in her carton of fish before. This was the first time I would see such in the 14 years that I have been selling fish,” she said.
According to her, “I bought the carton of fish at about 9.30 a.m at Oja’Ba. As I took it out of the dustbin and held it, an Alfa came up behind me and asked me to give him the creature in my hand. The next thing he did was to bring out his phone and tried to take the picture of the creature, but his phone went dead. My brother, Saburi, also attempted taking its picture and his phone also went dead.
“There and then, I took the creature to my elder brother, also an Alfa. I was still with him when I was called to bring the creature home and show it to the mammoth crowd that had converged on our house so that they would disperse.
“But by the time I got home, there was a twist in the story. I learnt that the president of traditionalists in Ibadan had gone to report at the police station that I had a strange creature with me, which was inimical to the well-being of the people of the state.
“They had threatened that  if the creature was not handed over to them, Ibadan would experience a serious flood disaster and that the 1980 experience would be a child’s play when compared to it.
“I was invited to the station by the police where I met the traditionalist. I told the police that it was a lie that nothing disastrous would happen because what I saw was just dust and not any miracle. I made them realise that I am also a water devotee from the popular Ataoja family in Osogbo, Osun State.
“Unfortunately, I could not produce the creature yesterday (Tuesday) because one of my brothers, Aliu, ran away with the creature when the pressure of the crowd in our home became too much. We were released to go home at about 9.00 p.m. I was with my baby, Alimot, who wore no pant all through yesterday (Tuesday).
“This morning (Wednesday), however, I was called at about 9.00 a.m from Mapo Police Station that Aliu had brought the creature to the station.
From Mapo, we went to Iyaganku to see the Area Commander and then to the police command headquarters at Eleyele to see the Commissioner of Police.
“It was discovered that the creature is an octopus. Its photograph was taken and it was released to me to take home. I was interviewed by the NTA crew and I have since thrown the octopus into Gege River.”
In a telephone chat with the Oyo Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Ilobanafor, she confirmed to the Nigerian Tribune that the creature was an octopus and not a mermaid.
“I saw it and counted its fingers, they were eight. It was found dead among frozen fish; it was not alive,” she said.
She also urged the public to discountenance the picture of a fish with two human legs being circulated on the internet, adding that it was  not the picture of the octopus.
Ilobanafor said the fish seller was not arrested as being speculated, though police security had been provided for her.
She also warned those who might want to foment trouble to desist, saying “anybody who tries it will be arrested.”
In a related development, the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Princess Adetutu Akhigbe-Adeyemi has urged Yemoja and Osun worshippers in the state to be calm and not disrupt the peace of the state.

IGBO SHOULD FORGET 2015 PRESIDENCY........NZERIBE

In a statement issued in Abuja,Senator Arthur Nzeribe declared that Igbos have crossed the Rubicon already ,emphasizing that the president’s ambition to rerun should be considered alongside a deal on what will come to the South east.
‘’’ To whom much is given, much is expected. In 2011, Igbos gave near 100% of their votes to President Goodluck Jonathan. What has the President put in place to justify the huge votes given to him by the South-East? This is not a case of Oliver Twist. It is a legitimate demand that should be met’’,the politician said.
“The issue of second NIGER BRIDGE appears to have become object of campaign for vote from the Igbos by successive Presidents in Nigeria. It should be understood that the igbos will not wish to vote on infrastructure for vote”’he said.
“The emphasis now must not be whether President Jonathan can contest 2015 Presidential election or not, but rather, it should be honest assessment of his stewardship to Nigeria, in terms of democracy dividend”.
He noted that  insinuation that President Jonathan signed a one term pact with select people in a closet should not be the business of Nigerians who are interested in seeing real dividend of democracy, adding that “Legitimately, only Nigerians can determine whether the President should be re-elected or not.
“Finally, it will not do Nigeria as a Nation any favour if the President is seen to be quarantined politically”,the senator  declared.

MICHAEL CHINDA LAWMAKER HIT WITH MACE FAKE INJURIES....

Michael Chinda, was discharged from London’s Bupa Cromwell Hospital on Saturday moments after Nigeria's Minister of State for Education, Nyeson Wike, took a delegation there on a courtesy visit and posed for pictures by his bedside.
A hospital official told our correspondent this morning that Mr. Chinda had since been discharged because he did not have any life-threatening injuries.

Mr. Wike’s London delegation includes former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara; President of Nigeria Bar Association, Chief Okey Wali; former Treasurer of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Mr Kenneth Kobani; former Transport Minister, Dr Abiye Sekibo; Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Felix Obuah; and a former Commissioner in Rivers State, Mr. Bonny Iyaye.

This trip contains all the elements of what is wrong with Nigeria,” an analyst told SaharaReporters today.
“You have a Minister, Wike, who does no work in the Ministry but is gallivanting all over Nigeria and the world in the interest of Rivers State politics and President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 ambitions.  You have a man who suffers no life-threatening injuries but who is flown on the president’s order to London at public expense.  You have a man who could have been treated in any local hospital for superficial injuries but was shamelessly shipped abroad, which is in itself a confession the administration has failed to develop hospitals.  You have an entire army of men flown from Nigeria to London in First Class at public expense to go and pose for fake pictures and collect large allowances all because they have in Abuja a man who does not give a damn about fighting corruption.  It gives an all-familiar meaning to the term, ‘Wike-leaks!”
