ACTRESS JOAN RIVER DIED AS A RESULT OF A PREDICTABLE COMPLICATION

Comedian, television host and actress Joan Rivers’ final cause of death has been determined, according to FOX411

The comedian died as a result of “a predictable complication” during a medical procedure resulted in a loss of oxygen that led to brain damage, the statement on her cause of death revealed.

“The classification of a death as a therapeutic complication means that the death resulted from a predictable complication of medical therapy,” the Office of Chief Medical Examiner explained.

In her book, Rivers joked that dying of natural causes was boring. "It's the grand finale, act three, the eleven o'clock number — make it count. If you're going to die, die interesting! Is there anything worse than a boring death? I think not."

STEVE WONDER 64 EXPECTING TRIPLEST

Stevie Wonder, 64,an American musician multi-instrumentalist.singer-songwriter and record producer is reportedly expecting triplets with his fiancée Tomeeka Robyn Bracy

“Stevie never thought he’d be a father again so late in life,” a source told The National Enquirer. "It may not have been planned but now he’s excited!"
It's thought the singer has now moved into Tomeeka's LA pad, where they are said to be raising their little one together.

“Stevie and Tomeeka had their first child together last year,” a friend divulged. “I know because I attended the baby shower!”
While many enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle later in life, Stevie is apparently pleased to have parental duties once again.
It's even thought the piano-playing star is ready to dedicate more time to his youngest children, as he feels work commitments often made him miss out on important moments in the past.

“He’s been going to all the doctor’s visits and scans with Tomeeka. He actually can’t wait until the birth. Stevie missed so much of his other children’s upbringings, he’s vowed to be there for their children and for his soon-to-be new wife," the insider added.

Stevie is still pursuing music though and is currently preparing for a nationwide tour which kicks off next month.

POLITICS: GENERAL BUHARI LAID DOWN 9-POINT AGENDA TO SALVAGE NIGERIA

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, publicly declared for the 2015 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Eagle Square, Abuja, The Former Head of State  laid down a nine-point agenda to salvage Nigeria from what he termed the increasing rot in all critical sectors of the polity.

He affirmed that he would do things differently from the PDP presidents if elected, and outlined a nine-point agenda to achieve this, namely:
*Protection of lives and property.
*Pursuing economic policies for shared prosperity and immediate attention on youth employment.
*Quality education for development, modernity and social mobility.
*Agricultural productivity for taking millions out of poverty and ensuring food security.
*Reviving industries to generate employment and “make things” not just to remain hawkers of other peoples’ goods.
*Developing solid minerals exploitation which will substantially attract employment and revenue for government.
*Restoring honour and integrity to public service by keeping the best and attracting the best.
*Tackling corruption which has become blatant and widespread. The rest of the world looks at Nigeria as the home of corruption. Nigeria is a country where stealing is not corruption.
*Respecting the constitutional separation of powers among the executive, legislature and judiciary and respecting the rights of citizens.

Chiding those who may take issues with the general’s age at 71, former Governor Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa State said:
“Buhari is not in this race for himself. He is in this race because of us, the younger people. We are very happy that he has decided to come out of retirement to help us stabilise this country so that you and I, the younger ones can carry on with the development of this great nation.
And people even say General Buhari is too old. To them, I will only quote the words of the former president of America, late President Ronald Regan who said, “we are not going to make age an issue in this campaign because we do not want to be accused of taking advantage of the inexperience of our opponent”. Gen. Buhari brings experience to this campaign. He brings integrity to this campaign.”

Buhari’s public declaration saw a massive turnout of supporters and associates including several senior party officials and elected public office holders belonging to the party. The heavy presence of his followers in the Southwest led by his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and many other senators from the Southwest .Four APC governors including Governor Babatunde Fashola, Lagos; Rotimi Amaechi, Rivers; Adams Oshiomhole, Edo and Tanko al-Makura of Nasarawa were there. Among senior party officials at the venue were the National Vice Chairman, Northeast, Pastor David Lawal and the National Secretary Mai Mala. Senate Minority Leader and former governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume led the National Assembly delegation.

Also present, yesterday, were former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Rotimi Akeredolu; Senator Ali Ndume, Senator Ajayi Borofice, Senator Abdul Adam, Senator Olorunimbe Mamora Senator Abdullahi Adamu, former Kano state Deputy Governor, Magaji Abdullahi; Senator Ibrahim Musa, Senator Anthony Adeyemi, Senator Sadiq Yar’Adua, initiator of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman; former national women leader of the party, Sharon Ikeazor ,Prince Tony Momoh  Col. Abdulaziz Yar‘Adua and a former member of the House of Representatives and immediate past board member of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr. Zilani Ibrahim among others.

STILL ON TOBA FALODE & OYAM ALAMIEYESEIGHA DEATH: FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PLAYS DOUBLE STANDARD ROLE...KEYAMO

On my blog dated 14th October, 2014, titled: ‘SO PRESIDENT JONATHAN CAN NOW ASSISTS TO UNRAVEL THE DEATH OF ALAMIEYESEIGHA'S SON? WHAT ABOUT TOBA FALODE AND OTHERS?  http://t.co/JcNsSpibll In which i wrote that ‘’ the question that is begging for an answer inside me is why is it that when something tragic happened to the Politicians or moneybags in Nigeria that is when our government issued press released?

Lots of Nigerian youths have been murdered outside this country, to my amusement, Nigerian embassy in these countries refused to come up with any condemnation not to talk of government of Nigeria!

The most recent is that of  Oloruntoba Oluwadamilola Falode, a 19 year old Nigerian student the only son of AIT Sports broadcaster and Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive, Aisha Falode, who was murdered  in Dubai on the 15th of February 2014 ;nobody feel concerned then because they have no personal political gains to get or score with his death!!!
Festus Keyamo, SAN,in a press statement he released noticed that ‘The Federal Government has played the ostrich in the case of Toba, leaving the mother and family grieving alone. The question is, with the swift response in the case of Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha, does the Federal Government value the lives of some of its citizens more than others?

Read below Keyamo’s press released:
It is with a heavy heart and sadness that we received the news of the untimely death of a citizen of Nigeria in Dubai, Mr.Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha. It is particularly painful to note that he died in his prime and under questionable circumstances. We send our heartfelt condolence to the Alamieyeseigha family and pray that God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
However, we note the swiftness with which the Federal Government responded to this sad and painful news with a call on the U.A.E authorities to fish out the killers of Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha

However, whilst this action of the Federal Government is commendable, it smacks of double standards. Recall that on 15th of February, 2014, Toba (Tyler) Falode was also murdered in hazy circumstances in Dubai. Recall also that the mother, Aisha Falode took it upon herself to carry out some discreet investigation into those circumstances and has since been crying out for justice for her son. Up till this minute, the Federal Government has not issued a single statement calling on the U.A.E authorities to fish out the killers of Toba Falode. The Federal Government has played the ostrich in the case of Toba, leaving the mother and family grieving alone. The question is, with the swift response in the case of Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha, does the Federal Government value the lives of some of its citizens more than others?

More importantly, it must be said that it is the lukewarm attitude of the Federal Government towards the earlier cases of Nigerians murdered abroad like the case of Toba that has emboldened foreigners in foreign lands to snuff the lives out of Nigerians without any qualms. If the Federal Government had shown more interest in the case of Toba, perhaps the precious life of Mr.Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseighawould have been saved.

We hope this is a bitter lesson to the Federal Government and we hereby re-iterate our call on the Federal Government to show more interest in the quest to find the killers of Toba Falode and bring them to justice.
Thank you.

MOST INFLUENTIAL WOMEN IN NOLLYWOOD: UCHE JOMBO IS AT THE TOP OF THE LIST

ICampus an entertainment and media soft sell magazine just released its list of Nollywood's Most Influential Women; surprisingly Uche Jombo is at the top of the list. The top ten are:
1. Uche Jombo
2. Genevieve Nnaji
3. Rita Dominic
4. Ini Edo
5. Mercy Johnson.
6. Blessing Effiong Egbe
7. Kate Henshaw
8. Omoni Oboli
9. Omotola Jalade Ekeinde
10. Emem Isong

According to ICampus, the criteria used is ‘ based on the kind of money being generated in the industry, from investment, endorsement, volume of work (directly owned), popularity, brand value, and influence among the powers-that-be in politics, business and industry.

Hence,Uche Jombo whom they claimed ‘’with over 16 movies, no actress in Nigeria can boast of heavy movie catalogue like Uche Jombo. There is also no other actress that commands the kind of reverence Uche does among fellow actresses and actors, most especially the young ones. The general saying is, Uche now has power to make star of a starlet, and only a handful of people will fall into that category in Nollywood. Despite being active production-wise, Uche’s face still adorns numerous posters as lead actress. Aside being the highest grossing actress-producer among her colleagues, Uche has two known properties, one in Lagos, the other in Abia, her home town (where she is a chief). Her influence in and out of the industry is definitely not in doubt.’’
