MOTHER AND DAUGHTER REUNITED 50 YEARS AFTER UNEXPLAINED HOSPITAL MISHAP

Gospel singer Zella Jackson Price,76, (left) of Olivette, Missouri, is reunited with her daughter, Melanie Diane Gilmore (right), almost 50 years after being told her daughter died hours after being born.

‘’ After almost 50 years, the family has finally had its reunion.A family is together for the first time after a bizarre and unexplained hospital mishap kept them apart for decades.

Zella Jackson Price, a gospel in singer in the St. Louis suburb Olivette, says she was told 49 years ago that her daughter had died in a hospital hours after being born.
But on Thursday, Price met that very alive daughter, Melanie Diane Gilmore.

Gilmore was subsequently adopted by another family, and believed that her birth mother gave her up. When she was 20, Gilmore's adoptive mother died, and she moved to Oregon to live with a relative. There, she began searching for her biological mother.

Gilmore's son and twin daughters helped search for their grandmother last year, using Facebook to track Jackson-Price down and a DNA test to confirm the match. Results came back in March, and it was "a 99.9997% match," Gilmore's daughter wrote in the description section of a YouTube video documenting the reunion.

There’s nothing greater. There’s nothing greater than this. Nothing,” Price toldKTVI.
Gilmore, who LIVEShttp://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png in Eugene, Ore., brought her own daughter and son for an ecstatic first meeting with her mom and brother, Harvey, for the first time.
Gilmore was a healthy baby at the hospital — but somehow doctors got confused and said the opposite, and she ended up getting adopted by another family. She spent her life thinking her mom had given her away and was now dead, the Oregonian reported.

"There’s nothing greater than this. Nothing," Price said after the reunion.
Her children, tracking down Gilmore’s real mom on Facebook, made the family reunion happen. DNA confirmed what one hospital got so dearly wrong half a century ago.
Now they’re trying to investigate what went wrong in the hospital so long ago.’’

Gilmore, who's been deaf since the age of 3, was given the news by her children via sign language. Then she was introduced to her mother for the first time in a video message

"God has given me everything the devil has taken from me," Jackson-Price said "I'm getting it back. I'm getting my baby back."

MBU: THE TREAT TO KILL 10 PEOPLE FOR EVERY POLICEMAN KILLED IS JUST TO INSTIL FEAR IN THE PEOPLE

Joseph Mbu, assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, has said the threat he issued to kill 10 people for every policeman killed was only made in order to instil fear in the people. Here is what he told journalists shortly after the elections;

“Generally, people are becoming more and more mature, sensitive and reasonable. And anyway, the statement I made, which generated a lot of (controversy); people misconstrued it all over, but that also helped the police because people say, ‘this man has come o and whatever he says, he means it’, and that also instilled fear in them.

“Go and check all the places where I have served, how many people have died? We don’t kill that way. But you have to instil fear so that people will have more respect for the police.

“You know how police were perceived those days, but now police give orders and people say police cannot do anything. But with those few words (I said), people are now scared and say, ‘if you misbehave, police are going to react’.

“Now we have succeeded as far as I am concerned,” he said.

PDP DEFECTORS: NO AUTOMATIC APPOINTMENTIN MY

President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari, while addressing newsmen after casting his vote at his polling unit in Daura Katsina state yesterday April 11th, was quoted by Nigerian Tribune that PDP defectors should not expect automatic appointment as ministers in his government.

"I have no fears of PDP defectors. The people who are defecting will only have influence in their constituencies. Since their constituencies are now controlled by the APC, their influence is, therefore, limited. I hope the people that are defecting will accept the fact that they are joining the people who succeeded. So, I don’t think they will just come and say they want to be ministers next  month, simply because they were ministers before.

BURUJI'S AIDES ARRESTED FOR COMMITTING ELECTIONS RELATED OFFENCES

Security operatives on Saturday arrested on suspicion four aides of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Buruji Kashamu, for committing elections related offences.

The quartet which included Kashamu’s driver and nephew, were apprehended in Ijebu – Itele in Ogun East local government area of Ogun state during the governorship and house of assembly elections. The two others were alleged to have adorned uniforms of the Mobile Police (MOPOL).

It was gathered that the suspects were riding in an unmarked jeep said to belong to Kashamu, who doubled as the Senator-elect on the platform of PDP for Ogun East Senatorial seat.
But Kashamu, who spoke with reporters shortly after casting his vote at Ward 06, polling Unit 26, in Ijebu – Igbo, admitted that his aides were arrested while on a legitimate errand at Itele community; to deliver money meant for the payment of the PDP party agents working at the polls.

Kashamu said; “that is true but we cannot call it arrest. I am the South West chairman Mobilisation and Organisation Committee and of course, I am entitled to INEC pass, but I am a little bit ill and couldn’t go out.

“And last night when they were trying to distribute money to party agents, they couldn’t get enough money and I was told that Ijebu East needed N500, 000 which I gave to them. I sent one of my niece with two colleagues and a tag on my Range Rover vehicle.”

“So, when they got there, the APC, headed by the former deputy governorship candidate in the 2011 general election, Tunde Oladunjoye decided to block them and used their power because they felt they are in power in Ogun state and that they have the backing of all the military. From there, they were arrested.”

According to a statement by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA Lagos Airport Command, the money was discovered during an inward screening of passengers on a South African airline flight enroute from Johannesburg.
