TRIBUNAL DECLARES ALHASSAN AS DULLY ELECTED GOVERNOR OF TARABA STATE

The Taraba State Election Petition Tribunal declared Senator Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the duly elected governor of Taraba State this morning. Its first ever elected female governor.

 The Tribunal held that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not conduct a genuine gubernatorial primary in Taraba State but only picked Ishaku Darius at a hurriedly Kangaroo event in Abuja

It is very interesting to know that after the April 11 elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer, Professor Kyari Mohammed, had declared that Mr Ishaku scored 369,318 votes to emerge victorious,  Senator Alhassan came second with 275,984 votes, while Chief David Kente of the Social Democratic Party polled 29,966 votes to come distance third. However, Senator Alhasan rejected the result and lodged a suit with the election appeals tribunal claiming the polls were marred with irregularities.

 Alhassan claiming that the results ascribed to Wukari, Donga, Takum, Sardauna, Zing, Yorro, Kurmi and some parts of Ussa, Karim-Lamido, Bali, Ardo-Kola and Lau local government areas were not acceptable as they did not reflect the true results of the votes cast. This morning, the tribunal agreed with her and sacked Mr Ishaku as governor, declaring Senator Alhassan the duly elected governor.

Meanwhile, Senator Alhassan was nominated or a ministerial position by President Muhammadu Buhari and subsequently was screened and cleared by the Nigerian senate. Following her victory at the tribunal, President Buhari will now have to nominate another minister from Taraba State.

Emmanuel Udoh, 44, a native of Ini Local government area of Akwa Ibom state has been arrested for having repeated sexual intercourse with his own daughter at his home at 2 Ajasa Command Road, Meiran, Lagos state on September 13th.

Emmanuel who is separated from the victim’s mother, regained custody of his daughter in October after the victim's mother brought her back to him so she could further her education.

Vanguard reports that Emmanuel when interrogated said he saw nothing wrong in him having sex with his daughter

“I have had sexual intercourse with her severally. It is a normal thing and I don’t see anything bad in sleeping with my daughter because I know she will not get pregnant because I don’t ejaculate inside her”.

While narrating how her father had sex with her, the victim said on the day he was caught, her father had told her to go and take a shower

"Immediately I started having my bath in the bathroom, I became very dizzy as I became very weak. While I was inside the bathroom I called out for help but neighbors could not hear me because I was weak. It was my father that helped me out of the bathroom and took me inside. When I got inside he gave me Garri to drink and before I knew what was happening. He removed my wrapper and had sex with me. I don’t know if he drugged the water as I became very weak"she said

NIGERIAN WOMAN WHO TREATED 'BOBBY KRISTINA BROWN' ARRESTED FOR IMPERSONATING A NURSE !!!

Nigerian woman, Taiwo Sobamowo, 32, was arrested on November 1^st, in North Carolina for impersonating a nurse.  According to report,Taiwo was one of the nurses who treated a comatose Bobbi Kristina Brown in the last month of her life and they just discovered that Taiwo wasn't a medical professional at all !

Authorities say Sobamowo used the identity number of an actual nurse with a similar name in order to get a job at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia, where Brown died this past July.  Arresting papers list her as the person in charge for Brown's care. Authorities have not said whether Brown's livelihood was impacted by Sobamowo's lack of training.  

Investigators told Fox 5 Atlanta that they don't believe Sobamowo was trying to get close to the Brown family, since she is suspected of having pulled this con before at other medical centers. 

However, there was a controversy when photos leaked of Bobbi Kristina on her death bed, and the person behind those private pictures has never been identified. 

Sobamowo is also facing charges of forgery and identity theft, and the George Board of Nursing is reportedly looking into how she got away with passing herself off as a licensed medical professional.

Authorities reportedly started investigating Sobawowo in September, after receiving a tip. Fox 5 reports that Sobamowo recently fled Georgia, but authorities were able to track her down to North Carolina where she was arrested on Sunday. 

She is suspected of carrying off a similar con in the Washington, DC area.

Homestead Hospice and Palliative Care, the company which contracts nurses to work for Peachtree Christian, told Fox 5 that they were 'shocked and dismayed that she had issued with her licensing' 

The company said Sobamowo was fired immediately after they found out about the con.

NDLEA IMPOUNDS BULLION VANS WITH INDIAN HEMP IN IJEBU-IGBO

The men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Ogun State command, have impounded bullion vans and a Ford bus loaded with bags and parcels of Indian hemp. Concealed inside were 42 bags of the illicit drug, weighing 512 kilogrammes. The two vans, with number plates, FKJ 731 XQ and LSR 837 XR respectively, were impounded in Ijebu Igbo area of the state, where the suspects abandoned them.

The vigilantes in Makeke town took up the role of the police to protect their people, it reported that the civilian security killed four robbers who robbed and killed scores in Igarra last, and in attempt to escape enroute Makeke Ojah road they met brink walls.

The robbers who met resistance from the civilian security killed one of the vigilantes and escaped into the forest. Angered by the death of their colleagues, the vigilantes mobilized into the bush and confronted the robbers. Four of the robbers were reportedly killed by the vigilante. Also, the robbers abandoned 1 pump action and seven AK47 to enable them free movement.
