NIGERIAN FILM PRODUCER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY POISONING HIS LOVER AND KILLING THEIR UNBORN BABY

The police from Area J command, Ajah, have arrested one Olaolu Akorede,28, who claimed to be a film producer, for allegedly obtaining harmful herbal liquid from a native doctor, for his lover to drink for the treatment of diabetes which later allegedly caused the death of the unborn baby in her womb and damaged her Fallopian tube, according to doctors’ report.

Narrating her ordeal in the hands of the suspect to the police, Halimat said:

“I met the suspect in New York, United States of America in November 2016 while we were both on vacation and we began  a relationship.

“When I came back to Nigeria, I noticed that I was pregnant and I called the suspect, who was still in the USA about the development and he was very happy on the phone. He begged me to keep the pregnancy till he comes back to Nigeria for us to wed. He requested for a return ticket to come back to Nigeria and I used N400,000.00 to purchase a return ticket for him.

“When he came back to Nigeria, he collected the sum of N2.5 million from me to organize our wedding but instead, he went to Abeokuta, Ogun State, to meet a native doctor who prepared a herbal liquid for him which he claimed was for treatment of diabetes. He convinced me to drink from the liquid and because I did not suspect anything, I drank from it, unknown to me that it was to abort my pregnancy or kill me.

“And after drinking the liquid, I began stooling blood and ended up in the hospital. Doctors later performed surgery on me and discovered that the herbal liquid had killed my unborn baby in my womb and affected my Fallopian tube. I am now appealing to the police to assist me to get justice” Halima stated.

In his defense, Akorede denied almost all the allegations made by the complainant but admitted that he procured herbal liquid for her to treat her diabetes.

Akorede was recently arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court on four-count charge of obtaining N2.5 million under false pretense, procuring unknown herbal liquid for Halimat to terminate her pregnancy and maliciously administering poison on Halimat which caused the death of unborn baby in her womb.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Okete Ejima, told the court in charge No. S/25/2017 that the accused intentionally procured the harmful liquid for the complainant to kill her and the unborn child.

He said the offences the accused committed were punishable under sections 314, 147, 243 and 216 of the criminal laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty the Magistrate, Mrs. O. O. Otitoju granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until 12th of  July, 2017 for mention while the defendant is being remanded at  the Ikoyi Prison, Lagos pending when he would be able to fulfill his bail conditions.

REVEALED: HOW ABACHA INJECTED INJECTED YAR'ADUA WITH VIRUS THAT KILLED HIM~~OBJ

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday alleged that late Head of State, Sani Abacha injected ex- Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, Musa Yar’Adua with virus that killed him.

At a dinner programme organised by an inter-denominational Christian organisation, Christ The Redeemer’s Friends International of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos Province 39 Chapter,Obasanjo claimed that Abacha’s killer squad carried out the act, adding that he was to be next victim, but that he was saved by God’s divine grace.
According to Obasanjo,

“Two people had earlier told me Abacha promised that three of us would not come out of prison or detention alive.
“Myself, Shehu Yar Adua and MKO Abiola. And two of them did not come out alive. So, that I came out alive, maybe God has a purpose. And therefore if the purpose is for me to serve the people and by so doing, serve God, then so be it.
“Abacha claimed that I was plotting a coup. I wasn’t the first to be arrested. When Shehu (Yar’Adua) was arrested, I tried to plead for his release.
“When Abacha said he didn’t know about Shehu’s arrest, I said to him, ‘the number two man in this country cannot be arrested without you knowing.’ He then said he would  go and find out.
“In Abacha’s plan, he left God out of it and because he left God out of his plan, it (his government) eventually failed. There is God’s hand in the life of each and every one of us and every institution. I believe that very well.
“When I was arrested, they took me to a house in Ikoyi (Lagos) and that became my abode (I was) in isolation, for three months.
“In the meantime, there were national and international pressures for my release, (former US) President Jimmy Carter was one of the world leaders that came to ask for my release.

“Some African leaders like Yoweri Museveni and Robert Mugabe came. I believe it was because of those pressures that I was released from isolation in Ikoyi where I was under house arrest.
“I must say that, that day, in a split second, it felt like the worst day in my life. What flashed through my mind was that I was forever ruined.
“I asked myself, ‘What did I do to deserve this? Is this what I get for serving Nigeria?’ But then, I told myself again that this was not done to me by Nigeria, but that one man did it for me.”
Obasanjo, who explained why he was detained in Jos and Port Harcourt prisons said it was because they were the best then.

He said,

“I was to go to Jos (prison) and Yar’Adua was to go to Port Harcourt (prison). In Jos, I was visited by my colleagues, including Yakubu Danjuma, Joe Garba, Domkat Bali, many of our colleagues, and then family members and friends.
“Then a decision was made that I was becoming too popular in Jos prison and I had to be transferred to Yola prison which is a native authority prison and I don’t need to tell you what life was there.
“In Jos prison, before I was transferred to Yola prison, they had decided that Shehu Yar’Adua and myself should be poisoned. So, they took him from Port Harcourt prison to Abakaliki.
In the process, he was injected with the virus that killed him. The same was supposed to be done to me. The man who came to take me from the prison to a guest house in the GRA in Jos, said, ‘We know you have problem with cholesterol so I have to take your blood for a test.’ Then I said, ‘Not on your life, I don’t have any problem of cholesterol.’
“I was slightly diabetic. But God had taken care of it because I was checking my blood sugar almost on a daily basis and it had become better than normal. So, I refused him (the man) touching me with anything.
So, they took me to Yola and he said, ‘when you get to where you are going, we will come again.”

"THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH NIGERIA BUT LOT IS WRONG WITH NIGERIANS"~~ OBASANJO

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday expressed his strong opposition to calls for the restructuring of the country saying  there was nothing wrong with Nigeria to warrant the raging clamour for restructuring or dismemberment.

The former president who was reacting to comments made by the Palace Chief, Brown Mene, at the palace of Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, who spoke on behalf of the throne that the Itsekiri people were marginalised by the Nigerian state said “There is nothing wrong with Nigeria, but a lot is wrong with Nigerians. We need to correct what is wrong with Nigerians and you become an accomplice if you fail to say what is right”.

His words: “The point I note of your dissatisfaction is that in spite of history and in spite of the current situation of marginalization of your interests and desire, you never asked to be separated from Nigeria. “When I was president, some people from Ogun state visited Aso Rock to complain that they were also marginalised. There is nothing wrong in asking for more share of the national cake but it is unacceptable for anyone to say that the only way out is separation.

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo “We can solve all our problems through dialogue, debate, discussion, conversation. I participated in the civil war. It was gruesome, destructive, deadly. Those clamouring don’t know what war means. I swore never to be part of it again. They say in my place that he who sees Sango (god of thunder) fighting, destroying with fire will never want to see Sango in his element again.

“The answer to most of our problems is mindset change and change of mentality. If we need any restructuring, it is the restructuring of our mindset and mentality. How will anybody in his right senses believe separation in the way out? We have passed that stage. We have problems, there are many ways we can solve them. It is our diversity that make us a great country. I won’t want a Nigeria where we dance same juju, or wear same attire. Our strength is in our diversity.

“Some progress is being made in spite of our difficulties and problems. We need to make greater progress than we have made before. If we do that, we will have good governance. There should be no impunity, everybody must have a sense of belonging, a stake in this project called Nigeria. Dismemberment of Nigeria is not good enough. Inequality, injustice, unfairness, impunity are not good enough and should be substituted”.
