"I'LL ACCEPT THE BRIDE PRICE"~~ FATHER OF NIGERIAN TRANS-GENDER 'MISS SAHHARA'

In an interview with Idoma Voice, Father of Nigerian transgender, Miss Sahhara, Chief Agbo Ella, says he would accept any man who comes home to pay for his son now daughter's bride price. In the interview, Sahhara's father says he has never disowned him for changing his sex and he would never disown him.

"If he decides to have a husband, that decision is left to him and and the person marrying him, If they feel they can live together peacefully as husband and wife, let it be. I will accept the bride price. I have not committed any crime"

According to him, it is Sahhara's decision to change to his sex and he respects his decision. He says he wholeheartedly accepts Miss Sahhara as his daughter now.

"I have never disowned him at anytime. He is my son even till today. I am the legal father wherever he goes. Now that he has changed himself to what he is now, whatever name he chooses to keep to himself, it is his own will"

RESIDENT DOCTORS COMMENCE INDEFINITE STRIKE

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) on Monday commenced an indefinite strike in hospitals after an eight hour meeting which ended in the early hours of the morning.

The doctors had last week met with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole where government made some offers to them.

A plea which went unheeded as the association resolved to embark on an indefinite strike until all its demands are met.
Among other demands, the association wants its immediate enrollment on the IPPIS platform without further delay.
Its also asking Government to stop its plan to stagnate the promotion of resident doctors an wants an immediate payment of salary shortfalls experienced between January and May 2017.

A one paragraph statement signed by NARD President, Dr. Onyebueze John in Abuja read, “Rising from our NEC meeting, which started by 7pm yesterday and ended 3am today. NARD has resolved to reject the promissory offer from Government, and proceed on total and indefinite strike action until all items in her demand list for strike action are resolved by Government.”

REV.FATHER CYPRIACUS ONUNKWO KIDNAPPED AND KILLED IN IMO STATE

Imo State Police command confirms that Reverend father Cyriacus Onunkwo was kidnapped from his vehicle in Orlu town in Orlu Local Government Area on Friday morning by unknown gunmen.



The Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Chris Ezike said a body was discovered in a bush in Omuma Village in Orlu East Local Government Area on Saturday and the corpse has been positively identified as that of father Onunkwo, while investigations are still on to unveil his killers.



Police say the late cleric’s car was discovered intact, with nothing removed from it. Neither did the body bear any gunshot or stab wounds, leading to speculations that he may have been strangled.
