COMMUNITY SEALS PASTOR'S HOUSE FOR BURYING COFFIN AND CHARMS IN THE LAND !

The Ipinsa community in the Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State has  accused a pastor, identified as Abiodun, of involving in fetish activities in the town.

It was gathered that sequel to the development, the traditional ruler of the community, Oba Omoniyi Olufunmilayo, on Tuesday ordered that Abiodun’s land in the community and his house located in the Ayedun area of Akure, should be sealed up.

Abiodun was accused of burying a coffin and some other fetish items on his piece of land in the community.

A source said; “The failure of the pastor to remove the fetish items on the land prompted the people of the community to take action against him.
“The Akapinsa of Ipinsaland, Oba Omoniyi Olufunmilayo, ordered that palm fronds should be placed in front of his house and the land, which traditionally means that the house has been sealed up until kabiyesi reverses the order.”

According to the source, the land and the house will remain sealed up until the pastor digs up and removes the items he buried in the land.

When contacted on the telephone, Oba Olufunmilayo said he would not make any comment on the development on the telephone.

He said, “If you want to talk to me, come and see me in my palace.”
The pastor was said to have left the community and his whereabouts was unknown as of the time of filing this report.

“The younger the more corrupt”

Sagay also spoke against the rush of younger politicians in haste to run the affairs of the country, noting that Nigerian politics has quickly declined since the first  Republic.

According to Sagay, “One common thread that runs through the attitude of recent politicians borders on greed, avarice, self-service and accumulation of wealth at the expense of the country.”

“Why the rush? A young politician who wants to run at 25 will still become 30, it is just a matter of five years. Why can’t they wait to run? Most politicians are just consumed by greed and the younger they get, the corrupt they become,” the professor said.

POLICE ARREST BANK WORKERS OVER BULLION VAN ROBBERY ALONG BENIN-ASABA ROAD

The Delta Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four staff of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Asaba main branch, following last Tuesday’s robbery attack on a bullion van along the Benin-Asaba road.

The command’s Spokesperson, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said  that the arrest of the bank workers followed investigation into the bullion van attack which left a policeman fatally wounded and the sum of N25 million carted away.

“The command has arrested one Amina Oyewole, the Cash Management Officer of UBA Branch 1 Asaba, the Chief Security Officer as well as two drivers.

“The suspects were arrested by the Police following an armed robbery attack which occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 5, between Otulu and Ubulu-Okiti, along Asaba/Benin expressway in the state.

“Their arrest followed preliminary investigation into the attack which revealed that, in a bid to cut corners, the bank officials illegally picked seven police officers from different locations yet to be determined to move the money,” Aniamaka said.

He said the bank staff engaged the policemen on an illegal escort for the conveyance of the sum of N25 million from UBA branch in Agbor to Asaba.

He said the officials also did not employ the use of a serviceable secured armored bullion van as required by law in the movement of the money.

The spokesperson said an earlier request for escort men was turned down by the Operations Department of the command because the bank did not have serviceable bullion van needed for such operation.

He said that during the attack, one of the police escorts was fatally wounded by the armed robbers who also succeeded in carting away the N25 million in a Honda Pilot Jeep and a Toyota Corolla.

“The command warns that henceforth banks requiring police escort must adhere to laid down regulations on special escort especially during the Ember Months.

“The command reassures members of the public that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the fleeing armed robbers are apprehended and brought to book,” he said.

He said nobody can impose a candidate on the party.

NIGERIAN MAN KILLED OVER AN ARGUMENT ABOUT BIAFRA IN INDIA

A Nigerian,  identified as  N. Chigozie, has reportedly died in India over an argument about Biafra.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Chigozie’s corpse was discovered at Hennur, north-east of Bengaluru, in the early hours of Monday.

Although Chigozie was said to have died in a motorcycle crash, his brother, simply identified as Nonso, said Chigozie was murdered.

The police said that the deceased, his brother, and four other Nigerians had partied at an African Kitchen restaurant at a place called Byrathi, on Sunday,  August 3, 2017, and that they quarrelled over food and assaulted each other.
“The six revellers quarrelled over sharing food and assaulted each other. The group of friends who were partying discussed information of a separate state in Nigeria (Biafra). The discussion led to assault and the brothers were badly beaten up. Nieskho (Nonso) went to a nearby hospital to treat his injuries and Chigozie followed him on bike.  On the way from the hospital, Chigozie reportedly died. It seemed to be an accidental death.

Regardless, preliminary evidence indicated that Chigozie, who was speeding on his bike, crashed into an iron railing and died of head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet. But, his younger brother, Nonso claimed he was murdered,” the police said.
A local newspaper, Bangalore Mirror, reported that Chigozie was killed after an argument with other friends over Biafra.

“The victim, along with his brother, Nonso   partied with a group of friends at a house in Byrathi. During the party, it was alleged that the brothers and their friends had an argument over a political development in their country. Police said both the brothers were allegedly beaten up.
“Nonso, who had come in his car, drove to a nearby private hospital and was said to have taken treatment. Chigozie, who was returning home on his bike, was found dead near the railway bridge. Nonso suspects that his brother could have been killed. However, prima facie evidence suggests that the death could also be due to an accident.
“The victim could have skidded and fell from the bike while riding home. It was raining heavily.
But a murder case has been registered based on his brother’s complaint and investigations are on,” the newspaper said.
