Abiodun Ogunyemi, the Anglican bishop of Zaria diocese has been arraigned before a chief magistrate’s court in Kaduna over alleged “defamatory remarks” he made against Governor Nasir el-Rufai.
The Bishop who was arraigned on charges bordering on criminal defamation, injurious falsehood and criminal intimidation, had criticised the governor over the planned demolition of 110-year-old St George Cathedral in Zaria.
In a statement released in November 2019, Ogunyemi said ,“The whole of the Sabongari Market is our land acquired in the early 1900s with genuine C of O which we have submitted to the state government for recertification. Any attempt by el-Rufai to demolish any of our properties in that market will be a direct assault on the church in the whole of Nigeria.
“The governor should know that he will never be President of Nigeria. I speak prophetically as a servant of the living God,” the bishop said.
However upon being arraigned on, the Biship pleaded not guilty and was granted bail. A member of the Kaduna Synod and a canon of the cathedral church of St Michael Kaduna stood in as surety.
The director of public prosecutions hinted that a peaceful resolution of the case is ongoing and the defence counsel also agreed to this.
The magistrate subsequently adjourned the case to October 28, 2020 for continuation.

A woman from Ogidi, in the Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State ,has been arrested after throwing her newborn baby boy into the toilet.

“I learnt she went for a scan some weeks ago and was told that her baby was a boy; whereas, she was expecting a baby girl.

NOBODY FIGHT AGAINST CHURCH ..YOUR CONSCIENCE IS FIGHTING YOU~~PASTOR ABAYOMI
Read what Pastor Abayomi Obabolujo wrote about CAMA and the so called G.O. you follow without questioning...
"You have churches overseas where you fly in your private jets to preach. In those nations, you obey their laws. You never rose against the laws that regulate your spendings. When you flout the rules, they even appoint a small pikin who doesn't believe in your God to oversea your collections and spendings, you did not object. You didn't say those nations are fighting God.
But now in Nigeria, where the new CAMA is trying to bring civilisation and probity to money that you collect from the people, you said it is a law against God.. which God are you talking about? Is the God in US and UK where you and your churches obey laws and where your spendings are regulated different from the God in Nigeria?
Nigerian churches engage in businesses to make profit and yet will not pay tax because they hide under church. But they make profit?
Don't be decieved. The Church that is the bride of Jesus, that Jesus is coming for are not those incorporated institutions but you and me.
If you incorporated your institution, whether it is a church or not, the government that issued you certificate of incorporation has rule over you.
If you don't obey, you are not following Christ.
If you don't want government to regulate you...operate like Jesus and the Apostles after Him.
1. Don't do any incorporation.. in other words, remove the name and logo.
2. Don't own assets. Distribute all your money to your members.
3. Don't operate a bank account. Distribute the money you collect among the members and go empty.
There's nothing to fight in the new CAMA. It is meant to stop churches being operated as business centers...
Nobody can fight against the CHURCH of God. Your conscience is what is fighting you.
I rest my case✍️"

BREAKING: MFM G.O. AGAIN THREATENED SAHARAREPORTES WITH LEGAL ACTION
The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr Daniel Olukoya, has again threatened to take legal action against SaharaReporters in an attempt to stop the online news publication from further reporting about the United Kingdom Charity Commission scandal involving his church.
Olukoya in a letter written by his lawyer, Ime Nya Asanga, alleged that SaharaReporters leveled false allegations against him and the MFM board of trustees.
General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry, MFM, Pastor Daniel Olukoya.
He asked the newspaper to take down the story or face legal action from him.
The letter reads, “Our attention has been drawn to your misleading online publication under the caption ‘How United Kingdom Commission Appointed Interim Manager For @Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Ministries Over Fraud Case’.
That story is not only false in all materials particulars but paints the trustees of our client in a very bad light by imputing fraud on them.
“Your deep seated hatred and penchant for maligning MFM and it’s General Overseer is manifest in your throwing caution to the winds to repeat your past false publications which are the subject of libel suits against you in Nigeria and the United States.
“Be these as the are, our clients are willing to give you a window to retract and make amends by immediately taking down this offensive publication, failing which we shall take appropriate steps to bring it to the attention of the courts and damnify you in aggravated and exemplary damages.”
SaharaReporters had earlier reported how the UK Charity Commission appointed an interim manager for the MFM since August 2019.
How United Kingdom Commission Appointed Interim Manager For Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Ministries Over Fraud Case
The commission in a statement said the interim manager assumes these duties at the exclusion of the charity’s trustees, stating that the trustees retain control over matters relating to religious activities.
The UK charity regulator claimed it had serious concerns over MFM Chair of Trustees, Dr Daniel Olukoya, and his personal handling of serious incidents.
It accused Olukoya of illegally meeting a former employee of the charity alleged to have stolen between £150,000 and £190,000 of the charity’s funds in Nigeria, then entered into an agreement with the individual without any consultation with other trustees.
Olukoya had in the past filed three libel suits against Publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore, in Nigeria and another one before the District Court of Maryland, United States.
While all the cases in Nigeria had been dismissed, that of the US is still ongoing.
