FEAR OF EBOLA....US MAY START SCREENING AIR PASSENGERS

Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian man who became the numero uno case of Ebola diagnosed on American soil is in a critical condition in a hospital isolation unit in Dallas.

With this, US are considering screening passengers from Ebola hit countries before they enter the country. However, the US President, Barrack Obama said yesterday that though the likelihood of an Ebola outbreak in the US is "extremely low' but they have to react.

"We're also going to be working on protocols to do additional passenger screening both at the source and here in the United States. Countries that think that they can sit on the sidelines and just let the United States do it, that will result in a less effective response, a less speedy response, and that means that people die."

"And it also means that the potential spread of the disease beyond these areas in West Africa becomes more imminent," President Obama said at the White House briefing with US health officials

HURRAY: THAI SCIENTISTS CREATED 'NEW' ANTIBODY TREATMENT FOR EBOLA

Udom Kachintorn, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, said at a press conference in Bangkok this week that 'We are proud to have created a new antibody treatment for Ebola fever,'

According to Thai scientists, the discovery of a new type of antibody against the Ebola virus is 'more effective' than those that already exist they claimed. However, the potential new cure is still awaiting animal and human trials.

'It is a new antibody structure, a new mechanism to kill the Ebola fever in the most effective manner,’
Positive results are expected when trials are conducted on animals in the laboratory and on humans, said Udom

According to his research, this new antibody is small enough to enter the infected cells and destroy the Ebola proteins.
It is harmless to humans as it is developed from human cells and can reproduce in large quantities.

The researchers indicated that it would take a year for an experimental vaccine to be developed, although this period could be shortened with the availability of more funding and better facilities.
In six months, Ebola has infected 6553 people and killed 3100 in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, three of the countries worst-affected by the epidemic in western Africa

NB: A commentator made this wonderful comment about USA that continues to make to test this and that thus: ‘that will be wonderful. It will eliminate Ebola worldwide except for in the United States where the FDA will continue to test it for years until Big Pharma can get a patent on it and the people at the top of the FDA food chain have wrung as much under the table cash out of Big Pharma as they can.’

I THANK GOD I NEVER TO A LECTURER WHO WARNED ME NOT TO MARRY MY HUSBAND BECAUSE HE HAD NOTHING THEN !

Yemisi Ashimolowo,a woman of God and wife of flamboyant  Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo, founder of Kingsway International Christian Church, opened up in an interview with City People this week spoke about her  marriage and how a lecturer at UNILAG warned her not to marry  the pastor because he had nothing..

"I thank God that I never listened to the UNILAG lecturer who warned me against marrying Pastor Mathew otherwise I would have been probably in a one corner room in Lagos but you see how my life has turned out to be, traveling all over the world to preach and minister. The lecturer never saw any future in Pastor Mathew as a Pastor but the lecturer is late now. I didn't know that marrying Pastor Mathew will end this way even I didn't want to preach when I married him. I just wanted to be a full house wife but he was the one who really discovered me and saw the beauty of God in my life. So he mentored me to what I am today and I never knew that KICC would be a big church that it is today" she said

On how they met, the mother of Four boys said
"Okay I can still remember vividly. It was January 1980 when Pastor Mathew came to my Dadi's church to assist him as an assistant Pastor. He just came out of Bible School as a fresh graduate then and he he was immediately posted to Foursquare Bible Church as an Assistant Pastor to my Father even though he had CAC background. And I saw this young vibrant man who was posted to my Da's branch. I remember we were having a serious challenge at that time and we were worshiping outside because our properties were thrown out by our landlords over land problem in my area at that time. It was at this period in time that this young and Fresh man came. This man was so committed and the way he was serving God swept me off my feet. Then I told God that " God, if only you can give me a man like this young and vibrant man that is newly posted to work with my Dad for a husband but must not be a Pastor" , then I will forever be grateful to you. It was his commitment to the lord that attracted me to him" he said.
Asked if it was love at first sight for them, she said
"Not really because he was a pastor and I didn't want to marry a pastor but I was attracted to him when I saw him. I must also confess marrying Pastor Mathew is the best thing that has happened to me. But you know, as a Pastor's daughter and having 2 Uncles as Pastors, I wasn't interested in another Pastor again. But I thank God I got married to him

SEASON OF MONEY LAUNDERING : US$5.7 SEIZED IN SOUTH AFRICA AGAIN

South African authorities have seized US$5.7 million arms money from Nigeria, just three weeks after the $9.3 million cash transported by two Nigerians and an Israeli for arms purchase, South Africa-based City Express reported Monday.

The South Africa’s Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority seized the $5.7 million (about N952 million) for allegedly being the proceeds of illegal transactions, just as the first one!
Under South African laws, a person entering or leaving the country is expected to carry cash not exceeding US$2,300, or the equivalent in foreign currency notes.

According to the newspaper, the documents in its possession show that the first consignment was personally signed off by the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who issued the end-user certificate for the transaction.

An entire “shopping list” was supplied with the certificate, which included everything from helicopters to unmanned aircraft, rockets and ammunition, it said.
The latest transaction, according to the paper, was between Cerberus Risk Solutions, an arms broker in Cape Town, and Societe D’Equipments Internationaux, said to be a Nigerian company based in Abuja.

The paper said the deal fell apart after Cerberus which had earlier received from Nigeria R60 million (N1.02 billion) in its account at Standard Bank, tried to repay the money as it it could not resolve its registration formalities with the South African authorities.

“Cerberus was previously registered as a broker with the National Conventional Arms Control Committee (NCACC), but the registration expired in May this year,” City Press said.
“The marketing and contracting permits also expired at the same time. The company has since applied for re-registration, but the application lay in the NCACC’s mailbox for more than two months.

“Sources told Rapport that Cerberus apparently tried to pay the money back to the Nigerian company, after which the bank became suspicious,” the paper reported.
The paper added that while the NPA’s Asset Forfeiture Unit subsequently obtained a court order in the South Gauteng High Court to seize the money, the NPA spokesperson Nathi Mncube, said there were no indications the two transactions were related.

“However, both are now the subject of a criminal investigation and all possible information and connections are being investigated,” Mr. Mncube was quoted as saying.

ROBBERY: PASTOR ARRESTED ..CLAIMS THAT HE WANTED TO USE HIS PROCEED TO BUILD A CHURCH !

“My name is Peter Iyesele, 56-year-old, I am married and I have four children. I am a pastor and I have a church along Badagry expressway.

“I was arrested at Igando bus-stop for participating in hijacking and diversion of goods worth over N25 million. I have been engaging in these operations for years but after a while I stopped and invested proceeds from the operations in transportation.

“For about nine years, I didn’t participate in any of these operations because I had made enough from the operations until I received a call from God to serve him. I was doing well in my transportation business before I was duped by a woman.

“The reason I went back into robbing was to get money to expand the church of God where I pastor. If I had succeeded, I would have used the proceeds to build a house for God.”
The above was an alleged confessional  statements made by one of the suspected 4-man robbery gang which specialises in hijacking and diverting trucks transporting goods within Lagos and Ogun states.

Operatives of Federal  Special Anti-robbery Squad, FEDSARS, has arrested three members of the 4-suspects identified as pastor Peter Iyasele, a.k.a Major, Anthony Ibiade, and Amas Debar, after they received a tip-off that a group of robbers had hijacked a 25ft container bearing 25 units of heavy duty outdoor split air conditioners worth over N25 million.

It was gathered that while the police are still making efforts to arrest Oliver, the other suspects have been charged to court.

NOLLYWOOD: I CAN GO THE EXTRA MILE TO DELIVER...ENITAN ODUGBEMI

She is beautiful, attractive and sexy. Her name is  Enitan Odugbemi , one of the new glamour girls of Yoruba Nollywood films. With many films to her credit, pretty  Enitan Odugbemi  said: “I started acting year 2005 but was doing it part-time then with Soji Eweade (Innocent) and later joined late Ahmed Alasari Film Productions in Abeokuta some years ago. After he died  Owolabi Ajasa has been my boss, my backbone and my mentor in the film industry”

“I can go the extra mile to deliver my roles but not as far as going nude or having sex on set. My most challenging role was in a movie titled Owu Funfun (not yet released) which is an epic movie. What challenged me to pick the script was what I was supposed to do in the movie.

I played the role of a village girl who was supposed to speak only in local Yoruba dialect without mixing it with any form of modern language or Lagos Yoruba. It was really inspiring and exciting and I think I did it so well”, she said.
