ARMY GENERAL & OTHERS ARRESTED OVER BAGA ATTACK BY BOKO HARAM
Nigerian Army have arrested more
than 10 senior officers, including a Brigadier-General for allegedly shirking
their responsibilities during the Baga attack by the militants.
According to the Director of
Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, the senior army officers
are being investigated for allegedly shirking their responsibilities during the
attack by the militants.
Those arrested are Brigadier-General Enitan Ransome-Kuti, his Chief of Staff Lt. Colonel G.A Suru. Others are the Commanding Officer of 134 and 174 battalions, Lt. Colonel Haruna and a certain Major aliyu.
The two Nigerian Army battalions are under the Multi-National Task Joint Task Force in Baga, attacked by the insurgents. Speaking on the arrest, General Olukolade said that the arrested officers were being investigated because at the time of the attack on the multinational headquarters in Baga, Brigadier-General Ransome-Kuti and his men were fully in charge of the military formation.
He said it was disappointing that the attack on Baga was not repelled by both battalions, despite having the necessary weapons to carry out the necessary operations. On January 3, 2015, suspected members of Boko Haram attacked the base of the Multinational Task Force in Baga, Borno State, dislodging the soldiers there. Reports say the troops were warned to be on alert following intelligence reports that terrorists would strike between January 22 and January 25.
Eyewitnesses said that the attack started around 5am when residents started hearing gunshots as the insurgents tried to gain entrance into the MNJTF premises. Many civilians living in the barracks were said to have been killed during the attack.

NIGERIAN DOCTOR WHO TOUCH THE BR3AST OF SUICIDAL WOMAN WILL KEEP HIS JOB !!!
Emmanuel Kanu (pictured above),a Nigerian and doctor by profession,
who touched the breast of a vulnerable
divorcee woman in her home days after
she'd attempted suicide will be keeping his job after citing cultural
differences......Read the gist below...
‘’Dr Emmanuel Kanu stroked her breast, repeatedly tried to
kiss her and told her, 'You want it' when she tried to escape his clutches
during the visit - which he hid from colleagues. When she later texted him to
tell him to stop ringing her he withheld his number on the next call.
But Kanu, a married Nigerian father of one, has been allowed
to keep his job by a fitness to practise panel even though the General Medical
council called for him to be struck off.
He told the panel he had not molested the
patient and claimed 'cultural differences' led to the visit on September 3,
2011, saying: 'There is a clear divide between the doctor and the patient here,
which is very different in Nigeria.'
But the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service only
suspended the 36-year-old for six months, despite finding he was guilty of
sexually motivated serious misconduct.
Campaigners against violence towards women criticised the
'incredibly lenient penalty'. Nicole Westmarland, former chairman of Rape
Crisis and Professor of Criminology at Durham University, asked 'what it takes
for a doctor to be struck off'.
She said: 'This doctor has committed a number of sexual
offences on a woman who was in a very vulnerable position.
'A six-month suspension is an incredibly lenient penalty and
the question remains: what will happen within the six months that will
supposedly change his behaviour when he returns to work?'
The doctor, who had recently completed GP training and was
undergoing specialist training in psychiatry, was on a locum shift at the
A&E department of Darlington Memorial Hospital, County Durham, when the
divorcee was brought in after taking a 'substantial overdose'.
She was still recovering in an emergency ward bed when he
asked for her mobile number and then rang her when she was discharged five days
later to say he was 'thinking of her'.
He arranged to meet the mother-of-two, who cannot be named
for legal reasons, at her home in Darlington for what the woman believed was a
medical assessment.
But he asked to use her laptop and then viewed Facebook
photos of her as he sat next to her on a sofa.
A report into his actions stated that he put his arm around
her and stroked her chest. It added: 'She informed the panel she was
"scared, frozen to the spot" and said "I was unsure, he was a
doctor".
'She said when you saw the
picture of her [breast] feeding her son you said "They're big. Are they as
big as that now?" and squeezed her left breast.'
When she stormed off to
her kitchen Kanu followed her and kept trying to kiss her, saying at one point:
'I can see it in your eyes that you want it.'
Kanu, who qualified in
2005 from the University of Nigeria, called her after he left but the woman,
who was 43 at the time, texted: 'It was not right what you tried to do. You are
a doctor and I was your patient. I didn't want or asked to be touched by you.'
Kanu, who worked at
Borders General Hospital near his home in Melrose, Roxburghshire, was acquitted
of sexual assault at Durham Crown Court in 2012.
He
told the fitness to practise panel he had not molested the patient and claimed
'cultural differences' led to the visit on September 3, 2011, saying: 'There is
a clear divide between the doctor and the patient here, which is very different
in Nigeria.'
But this was dismissed as
not being a 'credible explanation'. The panel branded his behaviour
'deplorable' and 'unprofessional.'
Kanu denied any knowledge
of the case when approached by the Daily Mail. A spokesman for County Durham
and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust said Kanu was dismissed as soon as the
complaint came to light.

I BEGGED MY WIFE TO FORGIVE ME FOR MARRING ANOTHER WIFE....OGOGO
Top Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, aka Ogogo, in a recent chat with journalist, he talked about his marriage and why women flock around him. See excerpts below...
It is a popular belief that you are a womaniser because women flock around you
I am not a womaniser, I just believe that people surround me because of the love God has for me. It also depends on how you present yourself to people. I believe in self control because if you have sex with every woman that comes your way, then your life is in danger. If I indulge in such acts, I will not look as radiant as I am at my age. Most likely I might have contracted various diseases. If I were a womaniser, I would have thought I contracted a sexually transmitted disease during the time I was critically ill.
How did you meet your first wife?
We were in the same theatre group and I admired her a lot. I saw her and I was interested in her. I told her that I would like to marry her and she agreed. I later married another wife but I believe everything in life has to do with destiny. I vowed that I would not have a second wife because I never fancied polygamy but it happened and I believe it was for a reason. It is God’s doing.
When you told her you wanted to marry another wife, how did she react to the news?
She felt bad and I begged her. May God give us a good wife; if I had money I could have bought a hummer jeep to beg my wife but I am not that rich. I made her understand how it happened and that regardless, it would not change anything between us. I begged her to please accept it as our destiny and I appreciate her for her understanding.
But some women will either pack out of the house or make it unbearable for the man. Did such a thing happen to you?
Not at all, she did not do any of that. I asked my younger brother and two of my sisters to help me beg her. When they begged her, she said she believed that it is destiny.
What is the atmosphere in your house?
One thing I like about my first wife is that she encourages me to help people, especially my family members. She always makes sure I satisfy them if they need my help. When my mother was alive, she took good care of her. God is the only one that can forgive us our sins and I pray that he forgives me. I also pray my wife forgives me.
