ARABA YEMI ELEBUIBON: YORUBA CULTURAL AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY

Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, an author,paywright, is a popular Ifa priest from South-western part of Nigeria. The 11th Araba of Oshogbo,  was born in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. He cames from a family acclaimed to be one of the authorites on Yoruba Traditional Institutions, A direct descendant of Olutimehin, one of Co-founder of the City of Osogbo. He began his priesthood training at age four.

He received his formal education through correspondence courses. His parents insisted on his through grounding in the traditional institution and culture through his apprenticeship with renowned priests of the day. Araba Ifayemi is a poet, performing artist, play write, herbalist and practising babalawo (ifa priest). He has published several books, and scholarly papers on various aspects of Yoruba traditional religion and culture.

Araba Ifayemi is also a recording artist with several credits on Yoruba poetic genre known as Ewi. His mostly social commentaries and parallax snaps cultural philosophy.

His traditional morality drama, Ifa Olokun Asorodayo called from Odu Ifa, was presented on Nigeria National Television Network popular series.

Yemi is an international scholar in-residence at San Francisco State University in California, USA, where he lectures on African Traditional religion and philosophy.

He is the founder of Ancient Philosophy International, Osogbo, Nigeria a Centre dedicated to teach African traditional religion and preforming arts.

He has trained a lot of students and initiated many into the tradition.

Yemi numerous awards and recognitions include lifetime achievement chieftancy as the Araba of Osogbo a title that elevated him to a venerated position in the priesthood hierarchy.
He has also been honored with a doctorate degree of the Brandice University USA. He is an associate staff at Institute of Cultural. he was appointed a vice chairman of Board of Traditional Medicine, Osun State. He is also the current president of International Congress of Orisa tradition and culture, Nigeria Chapter.

He maintain a botanica and mini-museum at his House of Culture that has become a must stop for visitors to Osogbo for teh city annual Osun Festival.
Yemi has travelled to many parts of the world at the invitation of organizations, institutions, colleges, and universities and local governments.
Membership and Awards include;Member of Rotary Club Osogbo; Member of Yoruba Centre of Excellence; Trophy Second Prize Bauch Nafest 89; Merit Award; Justice of Peace, Government of Osun State; Merit Award Osogbo Progressive Union; Silver Trophy Government of Oyo State by Sasa Eniyan Ore Sanya;An honourary decorated degree of traditional religion upon the Recomendation (USA 27-7-1993); etc.

WOMAN PAID AN ASSASSIN 10K TO KILL HER HUSBAND FOR MARRYING SECOND WIFE IN OSUN STATE (PHOTOS)

The Osun State Police command have arrested one Mrs Omotayo Salawudeen, 39, for allegedly killing her husband, Salawudeen Hakeem, 43, because he married a second wife. The state commissioner of police, Olafimihan Adeoye, disclosed this while speaking with journalists on the achievement of his command for the months of June and mid July.

According to CP Adeoye, the incident happened at the couple's home  at No.11, Adeniran street, Hallelujah Estate, Osogbo. The police Commissioner said his men acted upon the receipt of a case of murder which was lodged at Dada Estate Divisional Police Headquarters by one Engineer Salawudeen Jimoh, of No, 37 Engineer Adesina Salawudeen Street, Osogbo.

The investigations carried out led to the arrest of the deceased wife, Omotayo Salawudeen and her co-plotter, Oladapo Dolapo, a hired assassin.  Oladapo, an ex-convict who just gained his freedom from Ilesa prison about four months ago was contacted by Mrs. Omotayo Salawudeen at Sabo Area of Osogbo to kill her husband on the ground that her husband married a second wife and she offered to pay N10, 000, 00 for the job as against the N300, 000. 00 earlier demanded by Oladapo.

SIN“Having concluded their plans, the duo exchanged numbers while Mrs. Omotayo later called Oladapo to inform him of her husband’s whereabouts. Mrs. Omotayo Salawudeen took Oladapo through the kitchen and hid him inside a store in their apartment. When the husband came, the wife signaled her guest (Oladapo) and immediately,Mrs. Omotayo Salawudeen used pillow to cover her husband’s mouth while Oladapo Dolapo, a musician from Ejigbo, stabbed him to death in his chest”, the CP said.
Meanwhile, after the killing, Oladapo wrote some inscriptions such as “NO PRICE NO PAY”, “AXE AYE” “FORGIVENESS IS A SIN” on the wall and door respectively under the disguise that the killing was carried out by cultists.
“The wife made an outcry after Oladapo had gone to raise alarm that suspected assassins have killed her husband”.

The duo of Mrs Salawudeen who had sometimes gone to her rival’s house with a petrol keg with a threat to burn her  down, and her partner in crime Oladapo Dolapo ,have been arrested and being subjected to further investigations.

PHOTOS: POLICE ARREST MAN WITH FRESH HUMAN PARTS IN OSOGBO

Osun State Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old man, Ajibade Rasheed with fresh human parts in Osogbo,  Osun State.

The commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye while parading the suspect said Ajibade was caught by policemen at Olu-Ode area.

A fresh head of a woman, intestine, lung, virgina, liver and a bottle containing blood were recovered from the suspect in his car with registration no: LSD 987 DJ.

OAU SUSPENDS ALL RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES IN THE SCHOOL HOSTELS
