ATIKU ABUBAKAR FLOATED NEW POLITICAL MOVEMENT: PEOPLE PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT (PPM)


The former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar and nine other governors has approached the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a registration of their own party.

The Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Kayodu Idowu, confirmed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and some Governors of the crisis-ridden ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have applied for the registration of a group, Peoples Progressive Movement (PPM), as a political party.

The Nigerian electoral body confirmed that it is processing the application.
A former INEC National Commissioner, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, a lawyer and a close political ally of Atiku, filed the papers on behalf of the group at INEC


The promoters of the new political association includes the rebelling Governors of the Ruling PDP, among them are: 
1]Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, 
2] Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, 
3] Sule Lamido of Jigawa State 
4] Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State.
5] Abdulfatah Ahmed Kwara State. 
6] Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State 
7] Sani Danladi of Taraba state.
Two Other Governors are working behind the screen.
