POLITICAL WONDER :SHEMA TO BUILD 34 MOSQUES WITH PUBLIC FUNDS IN KATSINA

Nigeria political leaders are just corrupt, greedy and manipulative, hence corruption wars can never be won in Nigeria, simply because all the systems are corrupt, there are lots of ‘Untouchables’, man no man, paddy paddy, government connections, and compromised anti-Graff officials.

These political office holders were not accountable to anybody, simple because they were not elected in the first place but they were hand-picked by their godfathers. And for that reason they loots the government treasury and share the proceed among themselves...that is what we called POLITICAL ARRANGEMENT.

This bring me to recent issues where by  the Katsina State government on Wednesday awarded a N359.4 million contract for the construction of 34 Juma’at mosques in the state.

Governor Ibrahim Shema, while presenting certificates of the contract to the executors said each mosque would cost the government N10. 5 million, and that they would be spread across the 34 local government areas of the state.

This Governor Shema’s gesture which he said it was part of the present administration’s efforts at improving the welfare of the people baffled me a lot. What this governor wants us to believe is that, good roads, better hospitals, nice schools, avoidable housing schemes, electricity, good water better environment are parts of his administration gesture?

The governor in his words said that “The present government has empowered thousands of women and youths; they were trained in various skills and given money to start businesses. We have been procuring farm produce from our farmers at an appreciable price and selling same to citizens at cheaper rates,” Then, the question I would like to ask the governor is that how much in term of cash did he used to empower these women and youths?

However, if I am the governor, I would not build a mosque in a state that the majority of the people are Muslims, I will rather build well equip schools, hospitals, and industries, improve the electricity, and focus more on technology.

You will recalled that this same governor abandoned her pretty disable daughter,Amina Shema,26 ,who lives with a relation at Ikotun in Alimosho Area of Lagos State who claimed that she is a bona-fide daughter of Dr. Ibrahim Shema , the present Governor of Katsina state.

According to her claim, it was gathered that in the  mid-80s, Dr Ibrahim Shema met Amina’s mother, Felicia,  while he was the Chief Legal Executive of the National Fertilizer Company (NAFCON)  and they entangled in love. The result of their affairs is now Amina, It was claimed that she was named after Shema’s maternal grandmother, Amina, and when she was 2 years old, her father took her to Mecca for pilgrimage, 

As one of my friend Bode Lawal rightly said:’’ The Mosque building gesture may not popular in the South-west here, but it is not outrightly a misplaced one in the North. Giving the Northerner farmers fertilizers to enhance their farming outputs, also building Mosques for the Northerner Muslims are as good as giving out genuine business loans to our people here. One man food is another man poison. ‘’

However, Nigerian citizen , especially Katsina people deserves better that just Mosque.
