Majek first gained national fame on a television show in the early 1980s as a member of Benin-based reggae group Jastix-this included Ras Kimono and Amos McRoy Gregg. In 1988, shortly after Jastix disbanded, he began a solo career, his song "Send Down The Rain" was a hit that catapulted him and quickly became the best-known reggae artist in Nigeria.

The ‘Rainmaker’ who was described by Farber Jim, News, on 19 January 1992 thus: "Ziggy may be Bob Marley's biological son, but Majek Fashek is his spiritual heir. In terms of vocal tone, Fashek is Marley's spitting image...." is now the caricature of handsome Majek Fashek of the 90s’ we all knew then.
The question that is begging for an answer now is that are we just going to be looking and allow this great star to die as a drug addict and at the end a useless candle lights will then be organized by his friends and associates who at the moment doing nothing but looking at this guy going closer to grave every seconds?
Where is the PMAN, Record labels, the hang-on etc? It is just too bad if we watch this guy to kill himself with drug. Majek Fashek is a star, a music icon, he need us more now than before, please let us come to his assistance.
