The Kano state government has announced on Sunday evening that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the former CBN governor is the 14th Emir of Kano following the installation of a Fulani Dynasty by the Othman Dan Fodio Jihad.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was nominated alongside the eldest son of the late monarch, Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero and the Wamban Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was a Banker and grandson of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi. Sanusi’s father, Alhaji Aminu Sanusi, never ascended the throne-he died as the Ciroman Kano.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was appointed Dan Majen Kano by the late Emir Ado Bayero in 2012.
