A WEALTHY INDIAN BUSINESSMAN WORE £127,000-GOLD SHIRT ON HIS BIRTHDAY

A wealthy Indian businessman celebrating his 45th birthday made sure he looked the part - by having a shirt.

Pankaj Parakh, the owner of a multi-million pound textile business, spent £127,000 on the shirt which made of gold, weighs almost four kilos.

It was gathered that it took a team of 20 craftsmen spent 3,200 hours creating the shirt out of 18-22 carat gold. The shirt that has seven gold buttons but was created to have the same flexibility as a normal shirt.

Mr Parakh, who left school with no qualifications, said: “Gold always fascinated me since I was five years old and studying in school. Over the years, I have become passionate about this royal metal."

 “Yet, for my marriage 23 years ago, many guests considered me an embarrassment as I sported more gold than the bride.” He added.

Mr Parakh is hoping the unique garment will get him into the Guinness Book of World Records and the Limca Book of Records.
Last year Datta Phuge of Pimpri in India spent £160,000 on a gold shirt, but it weighed in less at 3.3kg.
