AMEYO ADADEVOH: THE DOCTOR DIED

Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, courageous and humane Nigerian medical doctor who participated in the treatment of the first Ebola patient in Nigeria is dead. She performed her duties selflessly and paid the ultimate price with her life.

It would be recalled that late Dr Stella Ameyo Adadevoh, was the most senior doctor who treated late (devilish) Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian who brought Ebola to Nigeria

"Dr Ameyo Stella Adadevoh who was the first Nigerian to test positive to the ‘ebola’ virus has died from the virus. The senior doctor at the First Consultants Hospital was the first to treat Patrick Sawyer. She actually prevented him from leaving the hospital despite orders from above to let him proceed to Calabar.’’

There are many questions that are begging for an answer, the first one is; who gave the order that allowed Sawyer to proceed to Calabar? Secondly, why can’t the Nigerian government arranged to fly this lady to United States of America for treatment or better still use diplomatic means with US government to get the experiment drug to save her life?

One public commentator speak my mind thus :''As for Nigeria, I have not heard of the effort the health ministry made to liaise with America who apparently has the wonder drug to try to save her life regardless of whether it will work or not. To simply not do anything is tantamount to murdering her.''

It is no longer news that Emory University Hospital has discharged two American missionaries treated for Ebola, Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, had been discharged yesterday

Dr.Stella Ameyo Adadevoh left behind a son and husband. May she rest in peace.
