President
Goodluck Jonathan will tomorrow November 7, 2015, commission Akwa Ibom International Stadium
aka ‘the Nest of Champions’.
The Governor of Akwa
Ibom State, Godwin Akpabio, will lead the beautiful people of Akwa Ibom state
in opening.
The Olympic Sized
stadium is a 30,000 capacity ultra modern complex that is regarded as the best
in the West African region and compared with South Africa’s Soccer city. The
Stadium have 4 -tier, covered, seating terrace, all-natural grass, high-tech
floodlights and security cameras, 36 emergency exits, bullet proof VIP and other ultra-modern facilities.
The stadium will
be opened with a friendly match between long time rivals, Super Eagles of
Nigeria and Black Stars of Ghana on Friday, November 7 at 3pm, with notable dignitaries
in attendance.
