Why is Nigerian Police protecting the identity of Nollwood Actor that kidnapped a banker in Lagos?

Incredible.... It just blows me away at how often our police do their job. Dailypost, reported a news that a Nollywood Actor and his gang, was arrested by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, for the kidnap of a female banker at Mile 2 area of Lagos.

They reported the news like this-’the actor, who has reportedly featured in movies like; ‘The Eves, Friday Night, Witches Club, Palace Club and Mountain High’.

The news went further to reveal where the ‘culprits were said to have kept their victim in an uncompleted building in Mowe, Ogun State for four days, while they waited for a response from the captives’ family’.

The Commissioner of Police in charge of the squad, Chris Ezike, confirmed the news the suspected kidnappers, their arrest and the victim rescued.

Hear him: “The suspects were six in number. But three are on the run and we are on their trail. During interrogation, the actor said six of them came in a Toyota Corolla car and immediately they saw their target coming out of her Toyota Camry car, they pointed guns at her and drove her to their hideout in Mowe.”

“They also sold their victim’s jewellery for 8,000 and her pair of shoes for 3,700. He also stated that his share of the ransom was 450,000, but did not disclose how much they got, as the bargain was done between Jack and the victim’s family.”
The suspects have been reportedly charged to court for kidnap and robbery.

Haven said that, what stops the police from reviling the identity of this Nollywood actor and his crime gang to the public? What concerns the public about the movies he appears on? Was this a form of advertisement or what?I also want to make an observation, the police said that the ‘suspects’ have been charged to court! What are the names of the ‘suspects’ that were charged to court?

This is an example of those cases we hear about where the police grab a suspect and make the evidence fit him instead of following the evidence to the actual criminal/perpetrator .It worries me how many people are locked up and have even been executed, who are completely innocent. The question I will love to ask is that is our police protecting the criminals at the expense of the public? This Nollywood actor is a risk to the public at large and his names must be made public.
