A traditional
ruler? Yes a traditional ruler. Baale Abeeb Lawal, who heads Ikolalumo in
Meiran/Ajasa area Lagos state, has brutally assaulted his wife over a phone
conversation she had on New Year day.
It was said that
he gave his wife a signal to end a phone conversation she was having with
someone, but she thought the signal was for her to lower her voice, so she
merely did so and continued, Baale thought she purposely disobeyed him
immediately pounced on her...
He was said to
have hit her severally with a heavy chair that was close to him, broke a bottle
and stabbed her at the back. Due to flow of blood, the woman fainted and was
then rushed to a private hospital by neighbours who had gathered to watch the
saga.
