There was fire outbreak
at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport Airport,Owerri which reportedly started at
about 5 pm.
The cause of the fire
outbreak at the airport runway was not immediately known but one of the
contracting staff at the airport said that the fire started from a nearby bush
before spreading to the runway. The quick intervention of the Federal Airport
Authority Fire Service put off the fire to avoid it spreading to other places .No
staff of the FAAN management was ready to speak on the incident
