THREE WOMEN ALLEGEDLY SOLD 2-MONTH OLD BABY FOR N625,000 IN ANAMBRA STATE...



  Anambra State Police Command, has arrested four women, three were allegedly accused of selling a two-month-old baby girl for N625,000 ,  while the forth one was buying the baby.
Three of the women were arrested by the police from Ogigi Police Station, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State and the alleged buyer admitted buying the baby, saying that she needed the baby to look after her when she gets old.
According to her, “I have a male-child but I want a female child as female children take care of their parents more than male”
When asked whether the husband was aware of the plan to purchase the baby, she said: “he was aware and supported me and asked me to carry on”
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Ogidi Police Station, Mr Hassan Musa, told newsmen that the stolen baby had been recovered and that she is in police custody while effort is being intensified to get the real and biological mother of the baby.
He expressed satisfaction with the confessional statements of those arrested, adding that two of the women who were said to have sold the baby was based in Abatete and Onitsha and that the police had moved to Enugu to get the baby from the buyer.
