Amaechi's
nomination and confirmation saga is over, the APC
senators who remained in the senate after PDP staged a walk out, have confirmed
Rotimi Amaechi as a minister of the Federal republic of Nigeria. The senators
rejected the recommendation of the Ethics and privileges committee's which
recommended that the Rotimi Amaechi should not be confirmed as Minister because
of the corruption charges that he is yet to answer to at the appeal court.
The Ethics and Privileges Committee,
Chaired by Senator Anyanwu, has earlier recommended thus: "The Committee
is unable to work against its extant rules and therefore would not be able to
recommend the confirmation of the nominee as Minister"
