British government has deported 500 Nigerians and they
arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos this morning. Many of
them were deported for illegal stay permits. When interviewed, one of them said
he was arrested by British police and was not allowed to even take his
belongings before being deported. UK government plans to deport 29,000
Nigerians.

According to other reports, the United Kingdom has the
plan to deport 29,000 Nigerians. The decision to send away those living
in the country illegally has however generated a lot of debate.
The Nigerian government has frowned at the mass deportation, stating that efforts must be made by the UK government to ensure those being deported are really Nigerians, medically fit to travel and have a role to play in the country - meaning they should be able to fit into Nigerian society.
