Today the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested the Chairman of Africa Independent
Television, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, over the spreading arms purchase scandal
involving the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and
the theft of N2.1billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Dokpesi was arrested after
investigators established that he received some money from the office of the
then NSA, Sambo Dasuki, “without any clear reason”.
“Chief Dokpesi received N2.1 Billion
from the NSA’s office but investigators cannot see any clear reason for the
payment,” he said.
Mr. Dokpesi was arrested shortly
after noon, Nigerian time, and whisked to the EFCC, where he is now being
interrogated.
