IFE-MODAKEKE WAR IS OVER- OONI OF IFE

Alayeluwa Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, wednesday  informed the Governor of Osun State, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, that Ife and Modakeke people have come together with a resolve that there would be no more rivalry and war during his reign as the Ooni of Ife and thereafter.

The traditional ruler also called on the people of the state to pay their tax so that the government would continue with its developmental projects in the state.

The Ooni equally called on the governor to support the initiative of the two communities setting up a trust fund by the House of Oduduwa to assist youths and rebuild the ruins of war in the area.
Ogunwusi, who visited Aregbesola on a thank you visit also commended him for promoting the Yoruba culture and ethos by adopting the Oranmiyan title.
This was even as the governor charged the traditional ruler to use his position to unite all the Yoruba people all over the world.

The Ooni therefore called on Ife chiefs to pray for the governor for bringing unity the cradle of Yorubaland.

Ogunwusi also added that payment of taxes by residents  of the state is the utmost thing they can do to help the state government, saying Ile-Ife, as it stands now, will not solely depend on the government for development.

He noted that the time has come for all hands to be on deck to take the state to a place of prosperity and abundance.
