President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Nigerian Army to immediately reinstate Major General Ahmed Muhammed, the erstwhile General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7th Division of the Army, Maiduguri, Borno State.
Maj.-Gen. Mohammed, it would be recalled was relieved of his command when soldiers under his command mutinied against him in 2014.
Following the uprising by his soldiers, who fired on his official vehicle, the General was immediately redeployed to the army headquarters while it was reported that he was quietly retired.
However, following the president’s intervention, the former GOC has been recalled and is awaiting posting by the Army headquarters.
