I WAS PROVOKED TO BEHEAD 10-YEAR OLD PUPIL - UMOREN

A teacher, Edet Umoren, 52, who allegedly beheaded a 10-year-old pupil, Precious Adedeji, said he committed the crime out of annoyance and provocation.

Umoren, a teacher at Favour Nursery and Primary School, Esugbon community, Itamerin near Ijebu- Ife, Ogun State, claimed that his employer owed him four years’ salaries.

The suspect was yesterday paraded at the office of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Magbon, Abeokuta by the state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali.

Umoren, on Thursday last week, reportedly beheaded the 10-yearold girl, who was granddaughter of the school proprietor, Pastor Joseph Olutoye.
