Finally, Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, ,Mr Muhammad Babandede, has disclosed that the cost of acquiring a Nigerian international passport is likely to rise in the nearest future.
According to him: “It is not easy for us to pay for booklets because of the cost. You will agree with me that air tickets have doubled in this country. You are aware that a lot of things have changed, but the passport fees have not changed.”
He stated that Nigeria Immigration Service has written to the presidency to propose a hike and will proceed with a review of the price once approval is received. This proposed increase, Babandede revealed, will enable the agency to deliver better service.
