SANWO-OLU'S FAMILY HOUSE ON FIRE IN LAGOS

A group of people on Wednesday, October 21, gathered around the family home of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Omididun Street, Lagos Island, throwing stones at the house.

The attack on the Lagos State Governor's family home came after #EndSARS protesters were shot at at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.

Prior to the shooting, the governor had imposed an impromptu curfew on the state. However, the #EndSARS protesters refused to leave the protest ground. Subsequently, government officials arrived and removed the security cameras at the toll gate, then the lights were put off and gunshots were fired at protesters in the darkness by Nigerian Army.

Some people were killed and even more people were injured.

In anger, youths took to the Governor's family home.

Eyewitnesses told Punch that one of the youths poured petrol on the house but was prevented from setting fire to the house.

The eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said, "Around 7.45am, angry youths gathered around Sanwo-Olu’s family home on Omididun Street, Lagos Island, throwing stones and shattering glasses.

"One of the youths poured petrol on the building but was immediately prevented from setting it ablaze because the fire could spread and lead to loss of lives.

Policemen attached to the Adeniji Adele Police Station reportedly raced to the scene after they got wind of the violence

20-10-2020 WAS A BLACK TUESDAY IN NIGERIA WHEN YOUTHS WERE MASSACRE @LEKKI

Governor Babaji  Sanwo-Olu has, on Tuesday declared a 24-hour curfew in Lagos state to shut the #End SARS protest. He said;“I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4 pm today, 20th October 2020...."
However, Nigerian youths are on social media to narrates their ordeal in the hand on Nigerian Army who shot at them at Lekki, Lagos.
Youth reactions below;
“Sanwo-Olu, you will cry. You will weep. You will suffer. I don't know how. I don't know when,” a Twitter user wrote.

Another Twitter user, @DrOlufunmilayo wrote “The Nigerian Army was ordered to go to Lagos. The state governor switched off lights and took down CCTV. Young people unarmed were sitting on the floor singing the national anthem. Soldiers shot and killed them. Tonight, our flag is soaked in blood by Buhari and Sanwo-Olu.”

@adesinaadesola8 said, “The order of killing an unarmed democratic peaceful protester is from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu himself. What is the investigation that he wants to carry out? He has killed more than forty people at Lekki Toll Gate this night with the instruction given to soldiers.”
It was gathered that before the shooting started, some government officials uninstalled the Closed Circuit Television cameras in the area.

The electricity at the protest area was also disconnected to prevent demonstrators from filming the attack.

Despite video and pictorial evidence, the Nigerian Army has denied opening fire and killing peaceful #ENDSARS protesters at Lekki, Lagos.

The army said this while reacting to a report by SaharaReporters that soldiers shot peaceful demonstators. Nigeria we hail thee....
