DORA NKEM AKUNYILI IS DEAD !

Dora Nkem Akunyili, 59, is dead. According to family source, Akunyili died in an Indian Hospital where she has been receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

She was the former Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and also the former (Dec 17, 2008 – Dec 15, 2010) Nigerian Minister of Information and Communications.

She was a renown pharmacist and governmental administrator. Her work in pharmacology, public health and human rights  has helped her gain awards and recognition internationally.

May her gentle soul rest in  perfect peace.

CECILIA IBRU: BANKER-FRAUDSTER CUM EVANGELIST IN COURT TO RECOVER THE ASSETS SEIZED

Nigerians both at home and abroad will always amusing me. Whenever i read the news concerning the so called ‘rich and powerful’ people in Nigeria, i keep imagining the kind of the world they are living in!

Let us imagine that the above statements are not so, how come would Cecilia Ibru, former Managing (Damaging) Director of the defunct Oceanic Bank Plc, convicted of embezzlement and fraud, despite the arraigned ‘kangaroo’ of plea bargain and settlement agreement leading to her conviction, she still has the gut to go to court to sought an order directing the parties to return to status quo prior to November 12, 2013,that is the court should grant her the order to return all  the assets she used the money stolen from the customer of her former employer  to her ! What a funny world.

 It would be recalled that Mrs. Cecilia Ibru, former Managing Director of the defunct Oceanic Bank Plc, was convicted in October 2010 by the Federal High Court in Lagos and was sentenced to (merely) six months imprisonment, following a plea bargain arrangement. It will be interesting to know that she served her six month prison term on hospital bed!

However, under the arrangement, she supposed to forfeit assets worth N191 billion comprising 94 properties across the world including the United States of America, Dubai and Nigeria to the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

 Meanwhile, Cecilia Ibru, who take the advantage of Book Haram diversion then sued for herself, the Ibru Group and three others, among others, asked the court to stop the Attorney-General of the Federation and AMCON from further taking any steps towards implementing the terms of the plea bargain and settlement agreement leading to her conviction!

The news we heard about Cecilia Ibru who defrauds and launders over N200bn depositor’s money, was that she has relocated back to her village in Agbahor Otoh, Delta state. Where he has also reportedly become very active in her church and is rumoured to be an evangelist, but with the current events it seems that this 68- year old, fair skinned finance guru have recovered from the shame of pains of losing the Oceanic Bank and she like to go for the spoil, i.e. the loots!

This Cecilia Ibru current moves is like a chess game, as one commentator put it ‘ In this ‘JUNGLE’ (called Nigeria), anything goes and anything can happen - I'm sure she's gotten assurances from particular quarters to pursue the claims - Quite annoying !’

 At least in our ‘KORO-KORO’ eyes, Mr. Alamieyeseigha, who fled the UK disguised in women's clothing, the first ex-governor to be convicted of corruption was granted pardon by cabal called the Council of States, a group headed by President Goodluck Jonathan, thereby legalising fraud at the top. The question is why are securities running after the yahoo-yahoo boys? Mshiinuuun

ADO BAYERO : EMIR OF KANO IS DEAD

Emir of Kano,Alhaji Dr. Ado Abdullahi Bayero, 83, (CFR, LLD, JP) is dead. He was the emir Emir of Kano in Nigeria, a position he held from 1963 to his death. He was a former ambassador to Senegal.

He was the son of Abdullahi Bayero dan Muhammad Abbas. Ado Bayero was the 13th Fulani emir since the Fulani War of Usman dan Fodio.  He was one of the strongest and powerful emirs in the history of the Hausa land. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Meanwhile, the embattled former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria may be turbaned as the next Emir of Kano.

JIM MARRY NADIA IF YOU CAN...WE'RE TIRED OF STORIES!

That Nollywood big boy Jim Iyke and his Ghallywood big girl Nadia Buhari are dating each other is an old story. Sometime ago the rumoured went viral that this lovebirds have split. According to Mitch Ngaman, Jim Iyke’s manager, the duos are still much together but just a little misunderstanding!

“I can assure you that whatever you may have heard regarding the ‘misunderstanding’ between Jim and Nadia is pure assumption. However, it is normal for lovers to disagree with each other occasionally or they wouldn't be human beings.”

Ngaman who described the rumour as false and the handiwork of the lovers’ detractors added:
“We are aware of the false rumour about Jim and Nadia’s breakup and decided to ignore it because it is baseless. Jim and Nadia have not broken up, as claimed by Emma.
That guy (Emma) is a frustrated musician. All he does is to meddle in other people’s business. And if he does not have his way, he goes into a tantrum and fabricates stories .We will act when we deem fit. He can keep on ranting for now,”

It would be recalled that, sometime ago, Jim Iyke went for a deliverance at Synagogue Church of All Nation, under the anointing of Pastor TB Joshua, for a reasons best known to him. However, is it not the right time for Jim to marry Nadia now or the two should go their separate way, as Nadia is not getting younger again? Jim wake up.

KEFEE STILL IN COMA

Kefee , Nigerian renowned musician was collapsed on a Chicago-bound flight, in far away United states of America. According to News agency of Nigeria, the plane has to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles, so that she could receive medical attention.

Teddy Don-Momoh , made a plea to Kefee’s friends and fans that :“Kefee wants her friends, fans and well-wishers to know that she loves them.
“We just need prayers now; she just needs our prayers now because there is nothing God cannot do; prayer is the key.
“God is still the same yesterday, today, and forever, He has done it before and he will do it again,” he said.

The husband who just got to the United States, said that he could not really give a full account of the situation and the cause of the collapse.

However, in my own opinion, the Nigerian musicians need to take their health issues very serious, everything is not about how much millions of Dollars you're making, but  about how much you spend on yourself in order to stay healthy.Then who says musician can't go on vacation?

It would be recalled that on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2013, Goldie , talented musician died shortly after she returned from the United, where she had attended the music industry’s Grammy Awards in company of  Kenny Ogungbe, the CEO of her music label, Kennis Music. Goldie, as it was informed, she had complained of a severe headache shortly after returning to Nigeria from the US. The songstress was rushed to a hospital in Lagos, where she was pronounced dead.
