CHRIS AND ANITA OYAKHILOME: WHO IS PUTTING ASUNDER?

Chris and Anita Oyakhilome, are couple you can’t just wish away. Anita is a beautiful lady, while Chris is a handsome guy. Chris is the president of Believers’ Love World Inc, the registered name of the Christian ministry, while his estranged wife is the vice-president.
The couple married about two decades ago and were blessed with two beautiful lovely teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn.

It will be recalled that sometime in May 10, 2014, some church members had launched a facebook campaign with a stated mission: “This is a Call to Prayer for all believers who understand God’s heart concerning marriage and a Call to Action by Pst. Chris. #DoWhatYouPreach”. Asking: “Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?”
The campaign emphasis that said Pastor Chris and Rev. Anita must unite “for the sake of the gospel, the church and their two beautiful daughters”. They quoted Malachi 2:16 in the Message Bible: “I hate divorce, says the God of Israel.”

Along the line, an official of the church, by name, Kenneth Achumasara, quickly moved to deny any rift between the pastor couple. He told the media last June thus: “I can tell you authoritatively that there is no issue between Pastor Chris and his wife, Anita… If you go to the UK now, you will see her along with the kids. She is still with him and there is no issue between them. I have been with him for 22 years and the Pastor Chris I know cannot even utter such words as reported. He will never address such a gathering. She will soon be in Nigeria for a programme and I will definitely invite you to have access to her.”

Now that it has now been confirmed that Anita had indeed filed divorce papers since April, bellow are some of the Chris bone of contention  with his estrange wife, Anita, most of it when he addressed pastors and deacons of his church at the Bermondsey branch of the church on 16 May.

“Bitterness is prolonged and accumulated anger. My wife is always angry and bitter,”

“Some pastors’ wives think when they marry a pastor; they are equal to the pastor. My wife thinks so. As a matter of fact, Rev. Tom was her pastor before I married her and Rev. Ray and Evang. Owase were her leaders long before I married her. How come she thinks she’s senior to them now?

“I already started Christ Embassy before I married her. I didn’t marry her and said we should start Christ Embassy. I
was already ‘pastoring.’ I already set my sail and knew my direction before I married her. I only said ‘come and help
me.’

“Be careful of the friends you keep. My wife keeps friends who bring out the worst in her and help her see the worst in people, instead of keeping friends that will help her vision, especially as the wife of a global pastor like me.”

OMISORE VOWED TO RECLAIM HIS GOVERNORSHIP MANDATE

“The PDP is here to challenge the result of the rigged election. We have come to expose the massive rigging, electoral malpractices, ballot stuffing and other vices that characterised the poll. This would further show the people that APC has no place in Osun.” That was the statement credited to Senator Omisore.PDP governorship flag bearer in Osun state.

Omisore, who expressed confidence that he would be sworn in as the governor of the state before the end of the year, saying “because I believe in the integrity of the judiciary to retrieve my stolen mandate, I am sure I will be the governor soon.”

Omisore, who arrived the premises of Osun State High Court yesterday court in company with the state PDP chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, and other stalwarts of the party said: “I believe in the ability and unshaken integrity of the judiciary to retrieve my stolen mandate, which was freely and collectively given by the electorate in Osun during the August 9 governorship poll.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Governor Aregbesola winner of the election, having obtained the lawful majority votes in 22 of the 30 local government areas of the state.

Omisore emphasised that “even in the declaration of the result on August 10, the returning officer cancelled some elections in Ejigbo Local Government Area due to stuffing of ballot boxes.
That was the pattern created across the board and we have caught them, trying to perfect their papers''

REMINISCENCE: FORMER AUSTRALIAN PM JULIA GILLARD ON SHARIA LAW

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told  to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT... Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

GOOD NIGHT DORA

Awka, the Anambra State capital yesterday stood still for the late former Minister of Information and Communication, Prof. Dora Akunyili as her body was given heroic reception by the government and the people.

Akunyili’s body carried in a golden casket by members of the Knight of St. John, accompanied by Dora’s widower, John Chike, children and relatives  arrived at the Women Development Centre, Awka at about 2 pm, was laid at the stage of the auditorium after being received by Governor Willie Obiano and his wife, Ebele. The service which was conducted by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, The Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, has people including government officials, monarchs, the clergy, youths, workers, friends and well-wishers from across the globe in attendance.

Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano opened the Day of Tributes by laying a wreath after, describing the late Akunyili as a great loss to Nigeria and her personally; stressing that Dora was a person whose life gave meaning to others. “Once she felt satisfied that the step she was taking was for the interest of the people, my Prof was so ready to undertake it and was a colossus amongst men in the field of academics.” She said.

Mrs. Bola Obasanjo, wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, described the late Dora as a woman who was ready to die for a true cause. According to her:“Sister Dora, you are a wonderful person. You erased doubts in the minds of Nigerians. Stopping those putting ordinary chalk and selling to people as drug, Sister Dora, you are an icon, you are a wonderful woman, I doff my hat for you.”
.

The former Minister for Women Affairs, Iyom Josephine Anenih, said: “The late Prof Akunyili’s appearance at the National Conference shocked Nigerians and that was when people knew what she was passing through, some people said why did she had to come, she told them, do not cry for me, if you don’t know any other thing to do, pray for me, as far as service to my fatherland is concerned, I will serve Nigeria with the last drop of my blood.

While on behalf of the academia, Prof Chukwuemeka Ike, who is also the traditional ruler of Ndikerieonwu, said: “University all through the ages had a common goal, to see truth and to teach truth. We have seen all kinds of things happening. When I saw Dora, she called me uncle, but when I saw her at NAFDAC, I felt she personified the goals of education, to seek truth, teach and preserve truth.”

Chief Victor Umeh, National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, said that death awaits every mortal .He went further to say : “Since Monday, Gen Gowon was there. There was nothing we didn’t hear, things that were said about Dora, several accounts of everything said about her were all good, let us continue to pray for her. Dora ran her Christian faith through hope and charity. For APGA, this is a huge loss. She contested election and she won, what happened was the politics of 180 days.” And he added that, “She reconciled with everybody before she died, so Ndi Anambra, it is time for thanksgiving, no more mourning for God to have raised this type of great woman amongst us.”

Gen. Yakubu Gowon in his own tribute said he joined the Akunyili family and indeed, Nigerians to mourn Dora’s demise, describing her as a fantastic mother and a wife. “Let us rejoice in the life of this woman for what she has done for Nigeria and the world all over, she deserves our prayer and respect”
May her gentle soul, rest in perfect peace, amen.

GUN CONTROL: 9-YEAR OLD GIRL SHOT HER INSTRUCTOR DEAD IN USA

A nine-year-old girl has accidentally shot dead a shooting instructor who was teaching her how to use a powerful Uzi submachine gun.

Charles Vacca was showing the unnamed youngster how to fire the weapon at the Last Stop outdoor shooting range in the Mohave Desert in White Hills, Arizona, when the gun recoiled as she pulled the trigger.

In a statement, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said the 39-year-old was hit in the head by a stray bullet as the Israeli-made Uzi kicked back. He was airlifted to the University Medical Centre in Las Vegas, where he was later pronounced dead.

Vacca was described by his best friend Robert Vera  as a "great guy, with a great sense of humour, very conscientious and very professional."
"I just ask everybody to pray for Charlie, and pray for the client. She’s going to have a hard time," he added.
It is illegal for children under the age of 18 to carry a gun in Arizona, but the rule does not apply on private property or if the youngster is accompanied by a parent or certified instructor.

Meanwhile, the shooting is likely to lead to further calls for gun control in the US, an increasingly polarising topic across the country.
Ronald Scott, a Phoenix-based firearms safety expert, told AP: "You can't give a nine-year-old an Uzi and expect her to control it."

Nollywood returnee, Yvonne Jegede, one of the girls that featured in Tuface Idibia’s “African Queen” , said ‘’ am  trying to stabilise myself in the industry having been away for a long time. I want to get used to the new Nollywood that is quite different from the one I left behind several years ago.’’
Yvonne went further to say that she cannot do without her eye pack because she loves her eyes. ‘I always like to make my lips look good. For the accessories, I can not do without my golden wrist watch. I wear it anywhere I go every day because it gives me good luck. I like big things and that’s why I have to get a big wrist watch’ she added..

On her ideal man, she said: ‘I don’t even know what it is any more. But I think people at different ages have different perception in respect of what an ideal man is. He should be  more intelligent than myself. I need somebody I can learn from him. He should also be able to take care of himself.  That’s  an ideal man for me. He should not be ugly’.

On why she have a penchant for revealing some part of her body, this was how she put it: ‘Well, it depends on the clothes. I have big boobs, so, if the clothes are not big enough to cover my boobs  you would  not blame me for that. I am not the person who made my clothes . I just put the clothes on.’

Yvonne went further to say that every woman needs man in their life  said she will get married and settle down when the time comes.
‘’How do you mean? Do you think that a lady would  decide to remain single. As a woman, she still needs a man. If  you do not have a man in your life, it is so bad.  She can never be a  happy woman’’.
