CHRIS AND ANITA OYAKHILOME: JUST LIKE YESTERDAY

The recent dirty divorce saga between the founders of Believers Love World, a.k.a. Christ Embassy, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome, a graduate of English Language from Ambrose Alli University, formerly Edo State University, Ekpoma whom he married 23 year ago in Lagos is very disturbing to Christendom.

Chris and Anita met when both were in college; Anita was among those who started the ministry which used to be a campus fellowship, known as Believer’s Love World Fellowship, BLW (now Believers’ LoveWorld Inc.) at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in Edo State.

Anita is a prolific writer, she is a contributor to their ministry’s daily devotional, Rhapsody of Realities, and she is the author of these following books: Don’t Pack Your Bags Yet, Confession For living, a Handbook For Successful Living, Unending Springs of Joy etc
It is very interesting to know that Anita is a member of the Central Executive Council, Director of Christ Embassy International Office: and used to head the church in the United Kingdom and also oversees other churches there and beyond.

It would be recalled that before the marriage crisis, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome relocated to Johannesburg in South Africa in January while his wife stayed back in the UK where she had lived for years with their lovely children Sharon and Charlyn. – an action that did not go down well with his church members; thereby created a Facebook page on May 10, 2014, asking for some explanations, because the bible says, ‘What God had joined together, let no man put asunder’

However, the worry of their church members were confirmed when Pastor Chris Oyakhilome delivered a controversial speech on the 16th of May in a meeting with all UK Pastors and Deacons at Christ Embassy, Bermondsey, where he said that “I am here for your concerns about the ongoing domestic issue with my wife and I know it affects you directly, being the ones under her leadership.’’

Meanwhile what Chris called ‘domestic issue’ is now a court issue! Furthermore, am not here to judge anyone of them, but if a may refer to Pastor Chris comment:
“Some pastors’ wives think when they marry a pastor; they are equal to the pastor. My wife thinks so. As a matter of fact, Rev. Tom was her pastor before I married her and Rev. Ray and Evang. Owase were her leaders long before I married her. How come she thinks she’s senior to them now?

“I already started Christ Embassy before I married her. I didn’t marry her and said we should start Christ Embassy. I was already ‘pastoring.’ I already set my sail and knew my direction before I married her. I only said ‘come and help
me.’ It shows clearly that there is a leadership tussle in the ministry.

What the elders of their church were trying to prevent then eventual happed; Anita filed a divorce suit at a UK court to end their 23 year old marriage. She said through her lawyers that she is done with Pastor Chris and there’s no hope of reconciliation. Pastor Chris who finally spoke on the divorce suit, on the evening of Sunday, September 7, during the monthly global communion service of the church, said it is not biblical to divorce, but if his wife insists on it, he could consider it as an option.

The question that is begging for an answer in my mind is, how could Anita, a pastor of long standing, and an author of Trio-inspirational love books: Don’t Pack Your Bags Yet, Confession For living, a Handbook For Successful Living, Unending Springs of Joy said ‘she is done with Pastor Chris and there’s no hope of reconciliation?

This her submission brings me back to Eminent Bishop Olubunmi Cardinal when he said:“When the going was good, they took vows on the altar of God to stay together in sickness and in health, until death do them part. They promise to make one another faithful partner in the presence of God, their family and friends and vow to be each other’s faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. They promise to love one another unconditionally, to support each other, honour and respect and cherish themselves for as long as they both shall live.

“It shows that they cannot live by what they preach. The Bible says: ‘What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.’ So why are they putting asunder what the good Lord has joined together if they are men of God as they claim?”

JIM IYKE USED AND DUMPED ME...EX-FIANCEE KETURAH HAMILTON

Keturah Hamilton, the Jamaican-born actress, model and business woman, said she was jilted, used and dumped by Jim Iyke. According to her, for over six years, she had given him all, they had projected the image of a blissfully happy couple that was made in heaven.
“These days, I ask God: Why has thou forsaken me? How can a man with whom we had gone through the highs and the lows-a man who had professed so much undying love for me over the past six years just walk away like that? I don’t know what happened and I wish I could put a finger on it,”Ketura said.

According to her, she had accepted and tolerated all Jim’s ‘foibles, issues and challenges’ and was determined to stick with him through thick and thin.“And then…Just when we thought the wedding invitations will soon be mailed out; Jim Iyke had ‘bailed’ out of the affair and appeared to have acted out some of the elements in their joint reality show “Jim Iyke Unscripted.” He simply walked away “without even a phone call” recounted tearful Keturah.
“He took away six years of memories, of support of love and all that I did for him-just like that. How mean and callous can one get?

Keturah also recounted how Jim Iyke used and dumped her. “Jim was supposed to come to New York and stay for six months, during which time, he would go to an acting school here in New York and then we would move to Los Angeles and get married and pursue our acting dreams. I was looking forward to that with eagerness and then he just walked away.”

Asked what could have been the reason for such a change of heart?

Keturah said she feels used and dumped. “I played along in the reality show as if I truly was a jealous and crazy lover. It was an act, but now I feel as if Jim set me up. He is a wicked man. I stood by him through all his troubles and tribulations. I helped bring him to the limelight when the light of his career was dimming. He is an ingrate and I leave him to God.”

“I am a strong woman and I am moving on with my life. God cannot give you that which He will not provide you the platform to stand and deal with. I wish him the best in his life ‘

Watch out for Jim’s side of the story soon.

MAHEEDA IS A BAD NEWS TO INSPIRATIONAL OR GOSPEL MUSIC....SANDRA IFUDU

Sandra Ifudu, gospel and inspirational singer once said she wanted to be better than her aunt, Dora Ifudu, and that ‘’ just want to sing about meaningful things without sounding gospel. I don’t intend to sound gospel at all. I’ll use secular beats and all. Even my mode of dressing and lifestyle won’t be boring,” she said.

However, she quickly said that her not being boring does not include flaunting her sexuality aggressively. “You know it is normal for me as a lady to want to wear revealing clothes sometimes. I believe all women feel like that sometimes. But I will not deliberately choose to expose my body to sell my music because I believe my talent and good looks can take me to wherever I want to go,” she added.

On singers like Maheeda using sex to sell their music, Sandra said she would never be caught dead doing that, saying one should practice what one preaches. “Well, I am of the opinion that whatever you preach or talk about, you should at least be able to put it into practice to make it believable and doable. Even though I am not in any position to judge, I’ll say people like Maheeda are bad news to inspirational or gospel music because you can’t be preaching one thing and doing another thing”.

EKITI KETE EXPONENT...CHIEF ELEMURE OGUNYEMI HAS PASSED ON

Chief Elemure Ogunyemi, 71, popular Ekiti traditional musician has passed on.

According to the report, he was said to have breathed his last at his residence in the Ekute area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital in the early hours of Saturday, 19th, September.

In terms of the promotion of Yoruba ethics, language, songs, poetry and other related elements, Ogunyemi was in the league of the likes of Yusuf Olatunji, Ayinla Omowura, Orlando Owoh, Comfort Omoge, Ayinla Adegato, Tatalo Alamu, Dauda Epo Akara and Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, all now late.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, describing his loss as a great one, he added that the death of the musician, who positively projected the image of the state and was the first musician of Ekiti descent to receive a global recognition, was a great loss to the state.

“He promised the readiness of his administration to immortalise the deceased as a mark of honour for being a worthy Ekiti ambassador in his lifetime. Fayemi urged the family and associates of the deceased to take heart and be consoled by his positive contributions to the development of the state,” the statement added.

Also, the Minister of State for Works, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye, has described Elemure as a philosopher.

Adeyeye said, “Those of us who love his brand of music cannot but be grieved at the loss of such a great and patriotic Ekiti son, who used his God-given talent to promote Ekiti culture, tradition, unity and development.

“Elemure Ogunyemi’s song; A ti riun ka nwa o Ekiti Kete (We have got what we desired), in which he celebrated the creation of Ekiti State in 1996, is an anthem of a sort in Ekiti and anywhere Ekiti people can be found in the entire world.

He added that the musician’s death was not only a painful loss to the people of Ekiti State, but the entertainment industry in Nigeria.

“I therefore urge my in-laws in Ikole-Ekiti in particular and the entire people of Ekiti State to be consoled by the fact that Elemure Ogunyemi lived a fulfilled live. His footprints on the sands of Ekiti State will forever remain indelible and our people should grief less, bearing in their minds that death is the inevitable end of all mortals and it must come when it would come,” the minister added.

I DONT BLEACH MY SKIN, BUT SUN BURNS....AYO ADESANYA

Nollywood super Actress Ayo Adesanya debunked popular reports says she doesn't bleach her skin. In an interview published on Punch 20th September,2014 ,Ayo said thus:

"No I do not bleach my skin. When you see somebody that bleaches, you will know. I have sun burns and it is not a hidden thing. I have tried a lot of things to make it fade away but it has refused and I have come to terms with it. I would never bleach my skin, a lot of people get confused about it but I don’t get bothered. I don’t owe anybody an explanation but when you meet me in person, you can always make up your mind"

What does she think of bleaching?
"Some people are naturally fair and the weather in Nigeria is terrible, it is just recently that we have been experiencing cool weather. The sun is usually very hot and it is bad for the skin. For someone like me, a lot of people are usually confused when they see my picture. They are quick to assume things and they do not know me personally. When you see people in pictures, don’t be too quick to judge, do you know how many lights are focused on the person while taking the picture? Because of the weather in this country, there are some lotions people use to enhance their skin and make it softer. There are some lotions that are not harmful but people have some misconception. The weather is very bad and it can affect one’s skin if care is not taken. I have friends that are fair in complexion and I know what they go through to maintain their complexion. If you do not maintain it, it would appear as if your skin is dirty. I don’t believe people should bleach personally." she said
