PUNCH Metro reports that Ezennia, who is in Basic 4, had come to Lagos from Nneni village in the Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State to spend her holiday with her relatives. She, however, fled her relatives’ apartment on Ishola Bello Close, Iyalla Street, Alausa, Lagos, in the afternoon of Thursday, November 20, when the family had gone out.

Mrs. Ambrose Okolo, the girl’s aunt said “Ezennia is just 13, but she looks big enough to be called a man’s wife. If you see her, you will think she is a lady. She just came from the village to spend some time with us and she is supposed to go back this December. But since that Thursday, we have yet to find her.
The reason I suspect she may be with a lover is because of some recent developments. Just a week before that incident, I travelled to Benue for a programme, and she was alone with my children in the house. There is a phone that my children use which contains only my number and my husband’s. But when she fled home and we started the search, I picked up the phone and to my surprise, I saw a string of strange numbers. The children said Ezennia used the phone when I travelled.
I wondered who she might have been calling since she is new in Lagos.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident. He said Ezennia was still on the police’s list of missing persons.

OBASANJO INSISTS THAT NIGERIA IS IN A 'BAD SITUATION'

The meeting which five serving governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo at his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, has ended with the former President insisting that Nigeria is in a “bad situation.”

T he meeting which lasted over three hours, Obasanjo addressed reporters, disclosing that the state of the country is bad at the moment. He was however quick to note that it is “not irretrievably bad if there is the will and courage to do the right thing at the right time.”

As regards what transpired at his close-door meeting with the governors, the elder statesman disclosed that he and the governors deliberated on “issues affecting the country- the security, the economy among others as Nigerians have no other country except Nigeria.”

Chief Obasanjo said that one does not need to be a World Bank economist or an International Monetary Fund (IMF) expert before appreciating the fact that the nation’s economy is ailing and require the will and courage by the leaders  not only to tell the truth to the nation, but also proffer the feasible solutions.

The five governors who met Obasanjo – Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Babangida Aliu (Niger) and Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom).
The governors were led to the meeting by Akpabio, who is the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

CANNIBALISM : MUM CAUGHT TRYING TO EAT HER NEW BORN BABY !

Li Zhenghua, 24, was discovered by a shocked nurse trying to eat her baby days after he was born at a local hospital in China. The nurse saw her eating the infant's arm and as she made to rescue the infant, the crazed mum refused to let the baby go. The nurse immediately raised an alarm and called other hospital staff that helped to rescue the baby.

According to local media reports, the attack happened at a hospital in the city of Shenzhen in China’s Guangdong Province. The woman had been found on the streets heavily pregnant and in labour..

A hospital spokesman spoke to Chinese media;

"It was really shocking, the arm was badly damaged and suffered not only heavy bruising but bleeding as a result of the bite. Fortunately, doctors managed to insert something to stop her closing her teeth and then levered her jaws apart. After that they gave her a sedative and took the baby to a secure location."

Authorities said the woman's mother-in-law had thrown her out on the streets despite being pregnant after she started acting mental at home.

They say they are trying to find out why the new mum tried to eat her baby. The baby has since been taken into the care of the government.

PDP SUSPENDS ITS FORMER CHAIRMAN ALHAJI BAMANGA TUKUR

The National Working Committee of the PDP has suspended its immediate past Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. According to a statement released this afternoon, Alhaji Tukur was suspended for taking the party to court without 'exhausting the internal redress avenues'.

It is important to know that  Tukur had recently dragged the party and its current chairman Adamu Mu'azu to court, asking the court to declare his resignation as the party chairman in January null and void. Find the statement after the cut...

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic (PDP) at its 395th meeting held yesterday, December 3, 2014 reviewed recent national developments as they affect the party.

Among others, the NWC deliberated on the court case instituted against the National Chairman of the Party, Ahmed Adamu Mu'azu by the former National Chairman, Dr. Bamanga Tukur. The NWC reasoned that for instituting a claim and counter claim in suit FHC/ABJ /821/2014; Gurin vs PDP & 3 others without first exploring and exhausting the party's internal mechanism of redress and for attempting to stop the forthcoming National Convention to nominate the party's presidential candidate as well as regularize the position of the National Chairman and other members of the National Working Committee is unacceptable.

The NWC hereby suspends Dr. Bamanga Tukur and Aliyu Abuba Gurin for one month and refers them to the National Disciplinary Committee for infringing on section 58(1)(a)( b)( h)( l) of the PDP Constitution 2012( as amended)
