FRESH FACT:VANDALS KILL 2 POLICEMEN ..SHOT 2 NSDC OFFICERS & SEVERAL OTHER INJURED

File photo
It will be recalled that on Monday, gunmen stormed Owutu Police Station and opened fire. The fresh fact has emerged about the attack on Owutu Police Station, Ikorodu, Lagos State on Monday, where two policemen and motorcyclist were killed and several others injured.

A source revealed that the vandals killed two policemen, including a commercial motorbike rider. They also injured several people, raided the station’s armoury and freed detainees.

They carted away four AK47 rifles. Trouble started after members of NSCDC got information that oil thieves were operating at Abule-Tapa Village, Ikorodu. The NSCDS arrested one of the vandals. When other vandals went to intercept the officers to free their partner, they found the site empty.
Apparently angry, they vented their anger on the police station, which was along their route.

An NSCDC said: “The fight between us and the vandals started at midnight on that fateful Monday. Two of men were shot. They are now in hospital. Several of our men were injured. Two of our men are missing. We believe that they are being held hostage. We pray that they are still alive. We however killed more of the vandals. We did not get any alive. We’re already tracking the vandals. We’ll get them!”

AIT ALLEGEDLY TAKES DOWN ONLINE OPINION POLL WHERE BUHARI WAS BEATING JONATHAN HANDS DOWN....

African Independent Television (AIT) has suddenly taken off air the popular online opinion poll where General Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress party candidate, was resoundingly beating President Goodluck Jonathan hands down.

Buhari’s lead in the poll was despite the president’s shelling out of N5 million per daily showing of his sponsored documentary against Buhari that was being repeatedly shown on AIT stations across Nigeria, and online.

Earlier on Tuesday, SaharaReporters published a screenshot of the poll, which at that time showed Buhari well ahead by over 76%.

As the day wore on, the poll saw Buhari’s lead rise to 79%.  It was then swiftly taken down, AIT replacing the page with a claim that the page was “under maintenance.”

AIT did not say whether its poll page would return after its ‘maintenance’, but some users had noted earlier that the TV station was allowing multiple voting for President Jonathan.

That was subsequently corrected; a fact that was also noted by users, following which Buhari again regained the lead.  AIT then suddenly went into ‘maintenance’.

THE LIKE OF ASARI DOKUBO'S WHO ARE CLAMOURING FOR WAR MUST READ THIS'OMAR BANGURA' ADVISE....

For the like of Asari Dokubo’s, OMAR BANGURA an African son of the soil
from Sierra Leone has this to tell you all.......
"I don't think you guys know what you are playing with. You can call each other names and laugh about it now but when you end up inciting hate here as I read through your posts here and a real civil war start in your country you will regret what you are doing now.

Your religious and political leaders are trying to divide you between religious lines and you are helping them do that rather than standing up and say we are all Nigerians never mind our tribe, region or religion. That's the only stand that will save your blessed nation.

The foreign powers pushing the government to take certain decisions will abandon you when you start killing each other and reject you from running to their countries so be careful. Our 11 years war in Sierra Leone was not even based on religious or tribal difference and see what we did to our country.

The worst conflicts are those based on tribal and religious differences. See Central Africa, Bosnia. My heart bleeds when I read what you guys are saying because I know what this will lead to. You will be the losers all of you whether Christian, Muslim, Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa. Stand as one and save your nation together because you have only one Nigeria that has the potential to lead Africa."

PLEASE HELP SAVE NIGERIA AND SHARE THIS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE.

FAILED POLITICIANS: MOCKING THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF ZULAIHAH BUHARI

It is rather unfortunate that while we claim that our Constitution is fashioned along with that of US and top politicians there from like the Secretary of State, Mr John Kerry, come here to "civilize" us on running a violent-free election, as well as brain-washing us to ensure that we adopt the western type of democracy, we still do not eschew and abjure violence, from our body polity and campaign. We are still either unthinking or lazy in thought as to make our political campaign personality-based instead of issue based. By so doing we tend to show that we no ideology or plans for the masses of this country beyond self-perpetration in office and control

For example what does it benefit the masses to make the loss of Zulaihah, a mother of 3 children and daughter of General Muhammadu Buhari to death's angry scythe a campaign issue, other than the fact that we, like the bourbons of 16th -19th century French history? How does this put food on the kitchen table of the masses, provide our youths with gainful employment, give us much eluded national security, reinvigorate our sliding Naira as a medium of exchange and put in place multiculturalism to eliminate mutually distrustful and antagonistic ethnic rivalry with concomitant divergent aspirations and interests ?

To show that the world has moved beyond politics of personalities to issues of principles I recall 2 incidents during the US presidential campaign in 2008. The first was when during a rally by Senator John McCain, the Republican Candidate, an old woman referred to President Barack Obama as an Arab adding that "he is not one of us" The reaction of John McCain was to snatch the microphone from her mouth adding that she was wrong. and that he and Obama are both Americans but only with ideological difference. The second was an attempt made by Democratic zealots who attempted to make issue out of the pregnancy of the daughter of Sarah Palin (the Republican vice Presidential candidate), before graduating from High School. Obama cautioned his party zealots warning that family matter was off-limit in the campaign. . That was "politics without bitterness" at its highest if I can borrow the phrase of one of our First Republic politicians late Alhaji Waziri Ibrahim. We should always avoid touchy matters bordering on opponents personal misfortunes that could be reminiscent of bringing grief of sorrows and sadness caused by intensity of loss between the bereaved and the deceased. As a matter of fact such bitter words frittered away can bankrupt a candidate, sell out good policy or even dissolve a government

We should instead, learn from examples of good leaders in the contemporary world politics. Only yesterday I was saying in another forum that since our independence 53 years ago, we have remained stagnant due to massively corrupt successive administrations due to bad leadership. I went to the extent of comparing the leadership that we have been unlucky to have with that of a country like Singapore which at is independence only in 1965 had like Nigeria, problems of mass unemployment, shortage of houses, and lack of land. Worse than Nigeria the country never has such resources as oil and gas which Nigeria has in abundance? However this notwithstanding, the good leadership provided by Lee Kuan Yew, the country moved from a developing nation to the first world status by the end of the 20th century. He curbed unemployment, raised standard of living, and implemented large scale public housing. Likewise, he developed the economic infrastructure of the country instead of concerning himself with stomach infrastructure, erased racial tension and created independent defence system which guarantees national security. It is this kind of leadership of rising up to challenges and accepting responsibility which are hallmark of good leadership, our ruling elites should learn to emulate

My people say 'Ma f'orun yo mi; gbogbo wa la jo nlo' meaning do not mock me with death because we shall all die. There is nothing partisan about this ,. A word is enough for the wise.

“I was called that my husband was killed brutally. He was killed because of land tussle. They have been fighting over the community land. He said my husband joined the other faction against them. People said he was shot before they cut off his head and took the head away. I hid my husband in my father’s house. Nobody was at home when it happened.”

Edo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, spokesman, Joseph Edogiawerie, who confirmed the killing, said two suspects have been arrested, adding that the police were on the trail of the killers.
