AS ELECTIONS APPROACHING..ALBINO KILLINGS ARE ON THE RISE IN TAZANIA

The mutilated body of a one-year-old albino boy ,Yohana Bahati, who was snatched by an armed gang on 15 February, has been discovered in a Tanzanian forest and police believe the toddler's arms and legs were hacked off so they could be used in witchcraft rituals.
His mother was slashed with a machete during the abduction and is in a critical condition in hospital, while his two siblings - who also suffer from a lack of pigment in their hair, eyes and skin - are under police protection.
Despite the Tanzanian government introducing a ban on witch doctors, who claim charms and spells made using albino body parts bring wealth and good luck, at least 70 people who suffer from albinism have been murdered in the African country over the past 10 years.
According to the organisation, politicians could be behind the spate of killings.
With an election coming up in October, it is thought some candidates may be hiring sorcerers to make charms which will improve their luck before the ballot.
Alvaro Rodriguez, the UN coordinator for Tanzania, said: "Attacks against people with albinism can never be justified - not by culture, tradition or religion.
"When will people in my country realise that organs of persons with albinism will never make one wealthy, successful and win elections?
"This could be a dangerous year for people living with albinism."
On the Tanzanian black market, the entire corpse of an albino person can sell for £49,000.
Police are continuing their search for Yohana's killers, and have detained his father, who was close by when the abduction took place.

TEACHER HAD SEX WITH 6- STUDENT AGES 14 & 15 IN NEW JERSEY

Nicole DuFault, 35, a New Jersey teacher who took advantage of six different students ages 14 and 15, by having sex with them at school and in her car, for more than a year, was charged for aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Among the damning evidence is video of Nicole DuFault – the single mother of two young children – performing oral s3x on one of the boys while another victim was nearby.
Nicole DuFault was busted in September and originally charged with having sex with three students. But two more victims were discovered shortly after and a grand jury, which indicted the teacher on Tuesday, found a sixth.
Despite the video evidence, which DuFault’s attorney admitted he had yet to see, her defense team plans a vigorous defense that may focus on the teen boys as the aggressors.
“If the video depicts certain things happening…that doesn’t mean that my client’s not innocent,” attorney Timothy Smith told NJ.com after DuFault’s court appearance in September. “People are victimized by juveniles all the time.”
The alleged predator is free on $500,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court March 6.

NIGERIAN PRIEST JAILED IN UK FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A WOMAN

Father Hilary Ogom Nwadei, 58, Nigerian priest , has been sentenced to 8 months in jailed by a UK court for sexually assaulting a woman he met while staying at St Mary’s Priory in Leyland on December 12, 2013.

According to Lancashire Evening Post, Father Nwadei, a priest from the Diocese of Issele-Uku in Delta State, Nigeria, had moved to the United Kingdom to pursue his doctorate in Law degree at the University of Lancashire when the incident happened.

The prosecuting counsel, David Traynor, while briefing the court said:
“The defendant (fr Nwadei) leaned against the door of the room, causing it to shut. He was between her and her way out of the room. He asked her for a kiss and she presented him with her cheek, but the defendant said ‘No, a proper kiss’, then kissed her on the lips. The victim said she wanted to leave and tried to leave, then the defendant asked if she had any sexual feelings towards him. When she said no the defendant reached up the back of her jumper and undid her bra. Then he moved his hands round the front, underneath her jumper and placed his hands under her bra, onto her naked breasts. He fondled her breasts for a matter of seconds. The woman made her excuses to leave, but he was still between her and the door, so she couldn’t leave at that point.”he said.
Fr Nwadei then unzipped his trousers, bought out his penis and at that point, the woman asked to leave which he obliged but pleaded with her to keep what transpired between them a secret.

It was revealed during court session that this was not the first time he had sexually assaulted her. On previous days, he had told the woman he loved her, “twanged” her bra and slipped £100 in her pocket for new underwear, an act the woman reported to the church who immediately launched an investigation with the help of police.

Fr Nwadei returned to Nigeria and then visited Leyland briefly again to apologize to the woman for his actions. But knowing that he was wanted for questioning, he left the UK again, following the death of his father and did not return until he was arrested at Heathrow Airport while on a transit flight to the USA in December 2014 – 12 months after the offence.

The presiding judge, Judge Michael Byrne while delivering his judgement said statements from the victim showed that she was intimidated and scared of Nwadei. He said it was a breach of trust for a minister of religion to invite his victim to his bedroom with the purpose of having sexual encounter with her.

The Judge jailed him for eight months with a £100 statutory charge. Nwadei will be put on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years, and will be deported from the UK immediately after his prison term expires.

TALES BY MOON-LIGHT: JONATHAN WILL IMPLEMENTS NATIONAL CONFAB RECOMMENDATIONS IF HE RE-ELECTED...MIMIKO

The Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has urged Nigerians, especially the Yorubas’ to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan, saying the president will re-structure Nigeria through the implementation of the National Conference recommendations!

He made this known at the Post-National Conference Summit convened by the Ondo State government for South-west states, tagged “The National Conference, 2015 Elections and the Yoruba Nation”, held in Akure, the state capital yesterday.

He said, “I also called this summit as a sanity check for the Yoruba nation. Do we know the critical issues involved in the Jonathan project? I deliberately invited those of you who have expressed their views on the confab. Shouldn’t the Yoruba put this in the forefront of their political engagements this season? We should sit back and define the type of change that we want. I want a change but the type of change I want is a change in the constitution of Nigeria.

“I want a constitution that will devolve power to the states, a constitution that will give us power of autonomy and resources to succeed and a change that will allow we Yorubas to develop our land by ourselves. I have no doubt in my mind that those who are in the other political party cannot support this type of change because they have gone against the conference earlier.
“We are concerned about the future of this country; the future of the Yoruba nation can only stand if there is proper restructuring of our nation. I will like to commend President Goodluck Jonathan for listening for the yearning of Nigerians by convening the National Conference. If there is any group in this country that championed the Confab, it is the Yoruba. We as spectators wondered how over 500 delegates of different persuasions could come up with 600 resolutions by consensus. It is the work of elders like Chief Ayo Adebanjo who worked to ensure that they emphasised what will unite us as a nation”.

“The future of this country particularly the Yoruba Nation depends on the proper restructuring of the country which the conference has provided a veritable platform for. The change I want is the change in our constitution which our leaders have been yearning for. As a people, we must do everything humanly possible to make sure that the resolutions of that conference are implemented”.

Earlier in his opening remark, a chieftain of Afenifere group and chairman of the occasion, Chief Ayo Adebanjo expressed displeasure over the set of invitees  that ; “The summit ought to have held some months back to give our report to the people who sent us to the conference. It is the importance of this that made me attend and accept to be the chairman. My observation here is that the summit seems to be dominated by the PDP. This is no PDP show because all the PDP candidates are here in the summit. The summit should be more important than a PDP affair. If you are convening something like this in future, give the impression that we are doing it on non-partisan basis”.

While reading the communique to reporters after the submit, Adebanjo said the gathering had resolved to fully back and work for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in the Presidential election, adding that he is the only one that can guarantee the implementation of the Confab recommendations.

The communique, signed by 10 attendees including Mimiko, Dr Fedrick Fasehun, coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams among others, also said the Yoruba Nation is going to work assiduously to ensure that the confab recommendations get translated to concrete realities.

AN ISLAMIC CLERIC CONNIVES WITH SECURITY MEN TO KILL HIS FRIEND FOR RITUAL IN BADADRY

Afobaje, Tanko & Suleiman
Fatai Afobaje, 40, an Islamic cleric has been accused of conspiring with some security men at Oko Agbonla, Magbon in Badagry area of Lagos state, to kill his friend, Rafiu Suleiman.

According to sources, the two men had met in a commercial bus and became friends that lasted for years.

“The two men met in a commercial bus. Suleiman had offered to pay the transport fare of Afobaje after the conductor was about embarrassing him because he had no change.

“The Alfa then said he would like to know him better for being so gracious to him (Alfa). So, Suleiman gave the Alfa his address and asked him to visit.

“That was how the friendship started. From what we found out, Suleiman, who worked as a crane operator, would collect his salary and give half of it to Alfa at the end of the month and that happened for a long time.”

Another source said on Friday, last week, the victim was called by Alfa to come for a meeting around 8pm.

He said, “As soon as the victim got to the street’s gate, the security guards surrounded him and asked who he was looking for. When he told them, they flogged him with charms and he died.

“They then called the Alfa to come and when he arrived, they shared his body parts. While one collected his head, another demanded all his intestines, while another asked for his breasts, which were given out.”

The deceased’s brother, Yinusa Wahab, said, “We went to the house, but he was not around. We searched everywhere and didn’t see my brother. Later, we saw a mutilated corpse floating on a stream near the house. It was swollen and there was no head. The breast had been cut off.

“We went back to the house and as we looked around, I saw some fingers in a pot which were still being burnt and when I saw them, I could recognise that they belonged to my brother.”

The police were said to have apprehended the suspect, and he reportedly named the chief security officer as an accomplice.

Afobaje, when queried, owned up to the act, and said, “He was on his way to my house when he was killed. When I got there, he had been killed and then we shared his body. I urge my accomplices to also confess because the act has been uncovered and there is nothing we can do about it.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident.
