UPDATE: NIGERIANS BLAST SARAKI FOR LYING ABOUT PRAYER GROUND STONING
Nigerians blast Saraki, after he dismissed reports that he was
stoned, video evidences emerged that there was an assault on him and they were
published online to counter Saraki’s claim.
In
a statement titled: “Senate President not attacked” Saraki noted that there was
a protest over non-payment of local government employees but that he was not
stoned.
Nigerians
have however reacted angrily to what many have described as ‘lies’ by Nigeria’s
number three man. They took to Twitter and other social media platforms to
express their displeasure.
On
PM News, Babakay wrote: “Liar, liar”, the beginning of the end,” in a reaction
to Saraki’s claims that he was not stoned.
Another
PM News user who identified himself as Shehu wrote: “This denial is too cheap.
The prayer program was brought to an end by the crowd shouting OLE! OLE!!
OLE!!! Bukola was actually smuggled out Yidi ground by security men who fired
several canisters of teargas to escape the rampaging youth. Bukola is indeed
finished.”
ID
from UK said: “Another lie again by a very dishonest man!, forgotten that this
is 21st century at least the incident is backed up by a live video coverage.
The earlier this guy realise that the end is near, the better for him as the
hand writing for him to leave is clearly on the wall. He should just accept his
faith once and for all and quit politics for good.”
“I
agree. Saraki please shut up and stop trying to save face. The video does not
lie. SaharaReporters have video of
people throwing rocks and water at your car. You will eventually get impeached
if you don’t step down soon. it is the end of the road corrupt politician. I
guess i shouldn’t say that because according to the law you are innocent until
proven guilty which it will be very hard for you to prove innocent in 13
charges. Your case is you were not previously notified before being taken to
tribunal. Did you notify the tribunal when you didn’t declare the assets. You
have no case. look for another reason or just step down and save yourself the
embarrassment,” LO said.

The Nigeria police has
given insight into how a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation,
Olu Falae, was rescued by its personnel, in an operation it said was
coordinated by Inspector General Solomon Arase.
But Police spokesperson,
Olabisi Kolawole, said in a statement Thursday night that the former minister
was rescued after the Force launched aerial and land operations in search of
the kidnappers.
Ms. Kolawole said, “The
rescue of Chief Olu Falae from his captives on September 24th, 2015 was made
possible as the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, fdc NPM
coordinated both aerial and land operations to ensure the freedom of the former

UPDATE: FAKE 'DOCTOR' SOLD BABY FOR N300K TO CHILDLESS COUPLE
Olawale Omolaja
(below) was arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command for selling a
week-old baby for N300,000 to a childless couple. Omolaja was arrested along
with a couple Dele and Radiat Onogbile, following a tip-off. He reportedly sold
the baby to the couple after they paid him N136,000 as an advance. Left is the
biological mother of the baby sold!
The cat was let out
of bag after the couple’s landlady in the Mile 12 suburb of Lagos discovered
that the woman had a new born baby without being pregnant. She was said to have
notified the Ketu Police Division of the suspicious presence of a new born baby
in the couple’s home. Upon interrogation, it was discovered that Mr Omolaja,
billed the couple N300,000 for the baby.
Further investigation
revealed that the baby’s mother, Idiat Babatunde, a student at the Offa
Polytechnic in Kwara State, initially claimed said she gave Mr Omolaja her baby
in order to go and complete her clearance in school; it appears she knew about
the sale of her child. Idiat, 39, claimed she left the baby in Mr Omolaja’s
care because he’s a doctor and a friend to her husband.
It was also gathered
that Idiat collected N70,000 from the 136,000 before leaving for school. She
was said to have given the baby up because her supposed husband, Akiola,
abandoned her after impregnating her and relocated to Rivers State.
Unable to fend for
the child a week after it was born, she handed over the baby to Mr Omolaja, who
has been the Onogbile's doctor since 2009. Their marriage was at
the brink of collapse as a result of childlessness and that they were separated
until the baby was handed over to them on September 14. Idiat said:
"I gave birth in
September 5 and on September 13, I gave the baby to Dr Omolaja because I needed
to go back to school in order to complete my clearance so that I can go for
National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with the next batch. I gave him the baby
because I was having issues with my husband and we have been separated. I
planned to spend two weeks in school and two weeks in Lagos but that same week
that I went to school, I received a call that I should come and identify my
baby at Ketu police station. I was surprised because I did not know what my
baby could be doing in Ketu."
The childless couple
said they repeatedly asked Mr Omolaja about the mother of the child but he told
them that the baby's biological mother was dead. Police say all the arrested
persons will be charged to court immediately after the current Sallah holidays.
