PENUEL MNGUNI: SNAKE-FEEDING PASTOR'S CHURCH BURNT DOWN BY YOUTHS IN SOUTH AFRICA

Penuel Mnguni, controversial South African pastor, of the End Time Disciples Ministries was beaten up by some angry South African youths in Mmakaunyane Village in the North Western part of South Africa last week Sunday November 15th. During the attack, the youths burnt down his church and tied him and a member of his church up with rope.

Penuel, who is known for engaging in strange practices such as feeding worshippers LIVE SNAKES to test their faith, STANDING on a woman during service, claiming he makes his congregants speak Chinese and Nigerian languages, asking his congregation to eat grass, strip naked and swallow live snakes, had been lying low for sometime after a mob led by South African vigilante group, the Economic Freedom Fighters, burnt his church at Soshanguve in Tshwane.

He had tried setting up his church again inside a bush in Mmakaunyane community but was caught. The tent of his church was burnt down by the angry youths while he and some of his church members were beaten and tied up. Police officers fortunately came to their rescue.

Resident Johanna Baloyi said the pastor and his congregation were not allowed in their area. “How can a person eat a rat and claim it tastes like chocolate? That’s evil!” A church member who was protecting her pastor said they have the right to attend any church they wanted. She said the rats have healed and saved them from suffering.

The South Africa interfaith council’s Reverend Thamin Mvambo says:
“Any kind of religion that propagates ideas that are unacceptable; we cannot support that.”

He says these so-called prophets don’t want to engage with anybody to explain how their alleged miracles assist their followers.

“Their claims are not even founded in any scripture; [these are] things that they are actually propagating out of their own minds.”

Mvambo says the state cannot intervene because there is freedom of religion in and it’s up to religious leaders to self-regulate.

NIGERIAN COUPLE FOUND GUILTY OF ENSLAVING ANOTHER NIGERIAN FOR 24 YEARS INTHE UNITED KINGDOM

Emmanuel and Antan Edet, a Nigerian couple, living in the UK have been found guilty of keeping a fellow Nigerian, Ofonime Sunday Inuk, now 40 as a slave for 24 years at their home in Perivale, North West London.

Ofonime told Harrow Crown Court he arrived in the UK from Nigeria in 1989 when he was 14 and made to look after the couple's home and children. He told the court he had been promised an English education before coming to the UK but was instead made to work, with the warning that if he left the house or went to the police he would be arrested for being an illegal immigrant.

He said he had made attempts to escape and spoken to the police in 2005, but was left "a bit dejected" after being told by an officer it was a "family matter".

Ten years later,  Ofonime  contacted the Metropolitan Police again after he watched a TV documentary on modern day slavery and realized the life he was being made to leave was wrong. He emailed a charity organization, Hope for Justice, which in turn contacted Scotland Yard to co-ordinate his release.

Prosecutor Damaris Lakin told the court: "Emanuel and Antan Edet have cruelly robbed this victim of 24 years of his life. They have treated him with complete contempt. Not only did the defendants have total psychological control over the victim, but they also had control of his passport and identity documents. This was a shocking case of modern day slavery which has no place in our society."

The couple was found guilty of child cruelty, slavery and assisting unlawful immigration. The Edet's pleaded not guilty to the three count charges. They are to be sentenced tomorrow November 18th.

IKE EKWEREMADU ESCAPES ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT

Senator Ike Ekweremadu, the Deputy President of the Senate, says he escaped an assassination attempt today November 17th, 2015.  Ekweremadu's special adviser on media, Uche Anichukwu made this known in a statement he released this evening. Excerpt ….
“The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, escaped suspected assassination attempt, Tuesday. The attempt occurred at about 10:00am between Apo Flyover and Dantata Construction Company’s yard, close to the Old Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Headquarters junction on his way to work.

The suspected assassins, who operated in a tinted, white-coloured Mercedez Benz AMG E63 without a plate number, were chauffeured by a long-bearded light skinned foreigner, apparently a mercenary. The vehicle, which was positioned by the Apo Bridge, on noticing that the Deputy President of the Senate’s convoy took the right turn to join the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway instead, made a turn.

The occupants attempted to attack the convoy, but were blocked. The driver violently broke into the convoy and they made several frantic attempts to attack the Senator’s official car. When charged at by the security operatives attached to the deputy president of the senate, the Benz driver made a U-turn, and partially smashed an oncoming vehicle on the opposite lane of the highway and escaped. The development has already been reported to the security agencies.”the statement read

NIGERIAN SCHOLAR WINS $1MILLION PRICE FOR SOLVING 150YEARS OLD MATHS PROBLEM

Dr. Opeyemi Enoch, a Nigerian scholar has solved a mathematics problem, which has gone more than 150 years without a solution.  As the first person to provide a solution, Dr. Enoch has been awarded a million dollar prize. Read full report after the cut...

The 156 years old Riemann Hypothesis, the most important problem in Mathematics has been successfully solved by Nigeria Scholar, Dr Opeyemi Enoch.
With this breakthrough, Dr Enoch, who teaches at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), has become the fourth egghead to resolve one of the seven Millennium Problems in Mathematics.

The Kogi State-born mathematician had, before now, worked on mathematical models and structures for generating electricity from sound, thunder and Oceanic bodies.
A statement in Ado Ekiti yesterday said Dr Enoch presentation of the Proof on November 11, 2015 during the International Conference on Mathematics and Computer Science in Vienna, Austria becomes more symbolic coming on the exact day and month 156 years after the problem was delivered by a German Mathematician in 1859.

The Riemann Zeta Hypothesis is one of the seven Millennium problems set forth by the Clay Mathematics Institute with a million Dollar reward for each solved problem for the past 16 years.
According to the statement, “Dr Enoch first investigated and then established the claims of Riemann. He went on to Consider and to correct the misconceptions that were communicated by Mathematicians in the past generations, thus paving way for his solutions and proofs to be established.

“He also showed how other problems of this kind can be formulated and obtained the matrix that Hilbert and Poly predicted will give these undiscovered solutions. He revealed how these solutions are applicable in cryptography, quantum information science and in quantum computers,” it stated.
Three of the problems had been solved and the prizes given to the winners. This makes it the fourth to be solved of all the seven problems.

Dr Enoch had previously designed a Prototype of a silo for peasant farmers and also discovered a scientific technique for detecting and tracking someone on an evil mission.

Enoch has succeeded in inventing methods by which oil pipelines can be protected from vandalism and he is currently working on Mathematical approaches to Climate Change...
