UP DATE: BREAST CANCER PATIENT SAADATU GIADE'S CASE IS WORST THAN REPORTED (GRAPHIC PHOTO) !

Saadatu Muhammad Giade health situation is worst than reported, according to statement issued this evening by SA Communications to the Deputy Governor of Bauchi state, Yakubu Adamu.

"SAADATU MUHAMMAD GIADE (Cancer Patient): SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT
It will be recalled that a picture of Saadatu Muhammad Giade, a woman suffering from breast cancer went viral on social media with a lot of Nigerians soliciting for assistance from other kindhearted Nigerians.

"It can also be recalled that the wife of Bauchi State Governor Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar through her NGO, Bauchi Sustainable Economic Empowerment and peace Initiative (B-SWEEP) has taken over all responsibilities of Saadatu Muhammad Giade's treatment and has visited her at the Ward 4 of ATBU Teaching Hospital alongside wife of the Deputy Governor, Hajiya Fatima Gidado.

"For the records, the picture of the supposed infected breast that requires medical attention does not represent the current state of Saadatu Muhammad Giade (picture of her current state below). That has been operated upon in July, 2015 when she was first diagnosed with cancer of the breast.

"She was asked to return to the hospital for assessment a month after the primary surgery was carried out which she failed to do and resorted to use of traditional medicinal herbs which led to complications.

"Saadatu Muhammad Giade's other breast is suspected to have been infected (tests ongoing) as there are swollen mamary lumps, the reason she was returned to the hospital by her family.

"A team of Doctors headed by Dr Abubakar Kadas of ATBU Teaching Hospital is making preparations to refer her to ABU Teaching Hospital Shika, Zaria by Friday 26th February, 2015 for Chemoradiotherapy after results of samples currently undergoing tests must have been received.

"Her Excellency the wife of Bauchi State Governor through her NGO, B-SWEEP has already paid for pre-referal expenses and will continue to shoulder all expenses forthwith.
Her Excellency also appreciates all your prayers and support and wishes Saadatu Muhammad Giade speedy recovery."

MAN RECOUNTS HOW HE AND HIS FRIEND NEARLY KILLED 'FRSC' OFFICERS IN MINNA !

Saddiq Dzukogi and his friend David were allegedly injured after some FRSC officers jumped on the okada that was conveying them home yesterday evening. He survived with minor injury but his friend's right arm was dislocated. (pictured on hospital bed) Below is what he wrote:

"This is the story- The Officer's Name is HB Mohammed. We recently initiated a weekly writing clinic, for ourselves, at AMAB bookshop. Today was one of such days where we go there to read, write poetry and talk about the things happening around the writing world.

I couldn’t drive my car today because of the fuel scarcity in Minna, so I took a bike to the rendezvous site. After spending hours there with David, we were drained and since there was power outage our computers couldn’t work beyond those hours we had stayed.

It was time to go home, David was invited over to my place by my loving wife. She prepared Kunun Aya for David, it’s his favourite local drink. We boarded a tricycle. Few minutes to my home we encountered FRSC Officers, popularly known as Road Safety. One of the officers jumped on the tricycle without any warning. I was going all “calm down calm down” when he reached for the wheel and forced it right. The next thing I knew was we were tumbling on the highway. It was the people around that raised us from underneath the tricycle. The officers barely escaped a mob action.

I survived with minor injuries but with severe body ache. I have been given medication and David has got a broken left arm. He is presently on admission at the Minna general Hospital.

Yeah and the so called offense was that the tricycle rider had four passengers instead of 3. Well I am not saying that the guy was right to do so, but here, all the tricycle riders carry four passengers. Now this is what I don’t understand, the officer did not ask this guy to pull over, didn’t give him the option of pulling over. The hulk man just thought it was convenient to use his muscle. This is a man who has sworn to keep the road safe. Quite baffling, it is ridiculous.

The rider has reported the case to the Police, I have laid a complaint at the FRSC office in Minna. And my friends at the Nigerian Television Authority, Minna are interested in this. So tomorrow is gonna be hectic, David got to do X-ray.
Thanks friends for all the calls and messages. We appreciate the love and concern. Poetry for life!"

The 43-year-old man was arrested this week in an operation conducted by agents of the Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife of the East in collaboration with the police. The Last Great Ape Organization (LAGA) provided technical assistance during the operation.

The man was on board a taxi with suspicious packages hidden in a trunk; when he stopped, he got out and headed to a bar, he was surrounded by wildlife officers. Azemte Mbemo Alain Patrick, the head of the regional department of the Eastern fauna, is the man who led the operation.

He tried to resist, but was quickly neutralized by the gendarmerie that helped us and was immediately taken to our offices. This operation was carried out through collaboration with LAGA a nongovernmental organization that helps us dismantle the wildlife trafficking network." said Patrick.

He was found in possession of five bags containing 12 ivory tusks and more than 200 kg of giants pangolin scales that are wildlife species protected under the 1994 Act of wildlife. According Azemte Mbemo, the man is known by the judicial police and is believed to have been involved in wildlife trafficking since 2013. He was born in Bertoua and control the area very well. He used an auto parts store sales as a cover to conceal his illegal activities, but rarely had this shop auto parts.
His main customers are Chinese buyers and had a Chinese contact list and names that indicate the extent of his business and professionalism.

According to sources close to the file, he buys the products from poachers in the East, but also in Congo and Gabon, and then resells them to Chinese and Nigerian buyers, he also exports these products to Nigeria. Buyers come from Yaounde and Douala. According to reliable sources, he would own a nearby storeroom at Garoua Boulai where he keeps products.

The illegal trade in pangolin scales is becoming a huge problem for wildlife officers and in order to halt this situation, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Ngole Ngwese Philip, had signed a circular letter in June 2013, suspending all licensing authorizing the movement of pangolin species in the country. the law enforcement concentrated to hinder trade and this operation is one of many that have been conducted in the last two years as part of the agreement signed between the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife and The Last Great Ape Organization (LAGA)
