"WE'VE BEEN VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULTS FOR OVER 8 MONTHS"~~STUDENTS CRY OUT!

Below is an email sent to us on behalf of female students of the school. Read below...
Good morning Linda. I write on behalf of over 200 girls who are current residents of the school hostel of federal university of petroleum resources effurun Delta state who have been victims of sexual assaults for over 8 months. We have tried on so many occasions to make our plight known to the school management but no one takes it seriously.

We live in a hostel with low fences with no armed security (only sheriff deputies ...usually one per hostel) who fall asleep at the slightest breeze. It started June/July last year with girls waking up to screaming at night. Apparently, a man/ men had jumped the fence nd starting touching, rubbing and molesting sleeping girls through their windows. Imagine waking up to strange hands on ur body ... the shock and trauma leaves most girls in tears..... management claims we are imagining things or asks us to hold on to the hands wen we wake up. .. and slowly the issue dies down. We resumed dis year to new complaints and it got worse last night.

A hypertensive student almost had a heart attack when she woke up to a strange hand working its way up her legs...after opening her window and tearing here mosquito net. We woke up to screams and she was rushed to d health center.... nd her asthmatic bunk mate was left almost choking to death. Almost 9 rooms were visited last night. School authority has refused to make out fence higher or place patrol teams... they insist we hold on to the man when we see him... which is nearly impossible since d first response is to run nd raise an alarm.

The option of moving the beds away from d window is also out of it since we live in already overcrowded rooms with 4 bunked beds (8students) and four large lockers. We know that creating buzz about it online is the only way to get managements attention .. please help give us a voice ... we live in fear of standing up individually and being victimized or our grades being punished .

 Here's the Story

I'm hurt now o.
Sometimes late last year, Mercy Aigbe Gentry had an agreement with me through another actress to wear one of our shirts and give the credit to us on social media.
She sounded so sweet on phone on that day.
Yesterday, she wore it and didn't do as agreed.
I even saw it on Valerie' facebook group.
So I sent her messages on instagram asking her to do as agree and she apologised saying that she'll fix it.

Today, she blocked me on Instagram, deleted our messages and then gave the credit to another fashion designer.

Can you imagine?
She mentiomed the skirt designer but didn't mention mine.
This Top ... she didn't pay a dime for it.

I contacted our link and she told me Mercy said that she could return the shirt.
I asked her to return it sharp sharp and she said she's not even returning again that I should do my worst!
Imagine!

Now Funmi's friends have done all possible to nicely reach out to Mercy Aigbe Gentry on Ig, asking her to credit the REAL MAKER of the FREE shirt she was wearing but instead, she went on a deleting spree, blocking all who called her out to do the RIGHT THING.
Attached are some of the comments nicely asking MAG to do the needful but she wouldn't let them see the light of day.

Mercy ... She whom the gods will kill, they will first of first make mad, retrace your steps and do the right thing now.

YAHYA JAMMEH GETS A FINAL DEADLINE TO STEP DOWN OR FACE MILITARY ACTIONS !

Yahya Jammeh, who lost elections last month, have  until midday on Friday to hand over power and agree to leave the Gambia or face military action carried out by the regional bloc ECOWAS.

West African troops entered the country to bolster its new President Adama Barrow - who was sworn-in on Thursday - but military operations were suspended a few hours later in favour of a final diplomatic push to convince Jammeh, who has stubbornly refused to quit, to exit peacefully.

"We have suspended operations and given him an ultimatum," said Marcel Alain de Souza, head of the 15-nation Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS.

"If by midday he doesn't agree to leave The Gambia ... we really will intervene militarily."Final talks were being led by Guinean President Alpha Conde in the Gambia's capital, Banjul, on Friday morning, "according to de Souza.

He said a total of 7,000 troops along with tanks had been mobilised by Senegal and four other nations, which had crossed into the tiny tourist-friendly country on Thursday evening without resistance.

In course of the Investigations and following intelligence information gathered, one Chinedu Chukwu, a female who was later discovered to be the immediate younger sister to the mother of the victim Chinecherem was nabbed as she was seriously fingered in the dastardly act based on intelligence information.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: NAVAL PERSONNEL ALLEGEDLY BEATS WIFE TO DEATH !

Omojoye Ayodele,a Naval personnel, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his wife, Mary Egbailo.

According to the source, the 30-year-old suspect had gone to bring back the wife from the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in the area, where she was said to have been since Sunday. Shortly after they entered their room-and-parlour apartment, an argument reportedly ensued between them, which led to a fight and Ayodele, allegedly beat his 29-year-old wife till she became weak and died.

She was said to have been rushed to El Dunamis Hospital, a private medical centre in the area, where she was confirmed dead. The official, who did not want to be identified, said the husband claimed she took a local insecticide, Sniper.

He said, “She was brought around 11.30am in a tricycle. A man, who wore military uniform and claimed to be her husband was screaming that she took Sniper insecticide.

“Doctors went to check her in the tricycle and it was discovered that she was dead. We immediately asked that she should be transferred to a general hospital. The husband was shouting to the hearing of everybody that she took Sniper.”

The landlady, who spoke  on the condition of anonymity, alleged that Ayodele had been assaulting his wife since 2016.

She said, “The man complained that for the past three days, his wife had been away from the house and gone to a church.

“Around 10am on Tuesday, both of them entered into the house. I guess he had just gone to pick her from church.

“It was not up to three minutes that I started hearing noise. I went to their apartment and asked the man what the problem was, but he pushed me away and kept hitting her. He dragged her on the floor, among other things.”

She said she ran out to call for help when the beating was excessive.

The landlady claimed that as other residents approached the house to mediate, the suspect threw his wife into the gutter.

“I begged her to wait outside till her husband calms down, but she said she wanted him to kill her,” she added.

She explained that the victim entered the house again and was beaten up until she became weak.

“She could not walk, so I decided to take her to a hospital. But nobody was willing to help me. If we had a vehicle on time, we would have probably saved her life. We were in front of my shop for about one hour, without any help.

“She was still talking to me before she passed out. The last request she made was that she needed palm oil,” she said.

She said after the victim passed out, a tricycle was brought, which then conveyed her to El Dunamis Hospital, where she was confirmed dead by doctors.

She said she decided to report the case to the Police to prevent the suspect from escaping justice.

The landlady described her as gentle, saying for the past four years that she lived in the house, she never had a quarrel with her.

“We discussed together and she always shared her challenges with me. When her father came after she died, he kept saying his daughter never told him what was going on in her marriage. She was always covering up for him,” she said.

A close friend of the deceased, who did not identify herself, said Egbailo did not give her any impression that she was being assaulted by her husband.

She said the husband told her that Egbailo had been abducted since Sunday when she went to church and was returned by the captors who discovered she was not useful for their money ritual.

She said, “The man said on that Tuesday, they had an argument after which she threatened to kill herself. The man said he joked with her that if she wanted to kill herself she should go ahead. He said in a jiffy, she had taken a bottle of Sniper and drank it. He rushed to my shop to call me that his wife was dying.

“We rushed her to the hospital where she died. It was later I was told she had been a victim of domestic abuse. She had never opened her mouth to tell me anything like that.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the corpse had been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy.

She said, “We received a report that a naval rating fought his wife and she slumped and was rushed to El Dunamis Hospital, where the doctors confirmed her dead. The corpse was deposited in the Mainland General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. The case is under investigation.”
