CHILD ABUSE : HEARTLESS FATHER BRUTALLY BEAT HIS DAUGHTER FOR GOING TO NEIGHBOUR'S ROOM TO WATCH TV ! (PHOTOS)

As shared by Facebook user, Olagunju Adekunle, who doubles as a manager with United Bank For Africa (UBA) in Ibadan, this is what a father did to his daughter, and the reason is just frivolous.

Adekunle wrote:
'God,I can't just believe this in my life,i was driving to the office this morning and I've a reasons to make a call and before I know,I was out of call card ,as I alighted from my car to get a recharge card ,I sighted this small girl(Esther by name) be beaten mercilessly with his heartless and reasonless father.'

Please where are the human right, who can be of assistance to help this girl out of her heartless father? I was so fortunate to interrogate her mother who told me that the girl went to the next neighbour room just to watch TV.

I took the girl to the nearby police station on our way getting there ,the girl and her mother was redirected to the nearby police station which is very closer to their house.

I called her father and I questioned him the reasons why he beats the girl mercilessly like that and his respond was very dishearten even he promises and threaten to beat his wife on her way back from work....Good people of Nigeria, kindly give helping hands as regard to this case, before it's getting out of hands .

Dr. Stephen Odey, Chairman of SUBEB, said in Calabar that over 758 teachers with fake certificates and 700 ghost teachers were uncovered during a recent screening by the board across the state.

During the exercise a Head Teacher ,on Grade Level 13 has been demoted to the post of a gateman on Grade Level 04, while 758 others were sent to lower grade levels for using fake certificates to gain employment into the service.

Dr. Odey said the fake certificates have been confiscated from their owners.

He added that although no punitive measures, apart from demotions and suspensions would be applied on the culprits, measures have been put in place to ensure that recruitment into the state teaching service is devoid of malpractices and fake certificate syndrome as in the past.

He revealed that those with genuine certificates are being promoted, while some who were employed as security men and care-givers, but have acquired additional qualifications, have been redeployed as class teachers.

"WE DON'T RECEIVE HIGHEST PAY IN NIGERIA"~~ NASS MEMBER

Mr Zakari Mohammed, a  member of the House of Representatives, says member of the National Assembly are not the highest paid political office holders in Nigeria.

Mohammed, who represents Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency, denied that legislators’ pay was a guarded secret.

“The public perception of the National Assembly is in sharp contrast to the reality on the ground as far as the lawmakers take-home and other allowances are concerned,” he told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Gure, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara.

According to him, chief executives of federal agencies earn more salary than the National Assembly members.

“I can tell you that a Director-General of a Federal agency is far and above better than a member of parliament in terms of what he takes home in terms of perks of office.

“Whatever a legislature does is within the limit of his allowances and the salary that he takes.

“Whatever we do is within the income, we don’t award contracts, we don’t execute projects.”

Mohammed, however, advocated regular interface between the National Assembly and the public to address current erroneous perception.

“So for me, I believe it is a mind set and it is going to take sometimes to get it off Nigerians heads, and I believe a regular interface with the public will change the psyche with time.”

The lawmaker noted that the legislature had been painted in bad light since the inception of the fourth republic.

“The National Assembly since 1999 has been living with image issue and of course I’m saying it without any fear of contradiction that it was caused by the then President (Olusegun) Obasanjo.

“To me, it is matter of psyche. Nigeria must get it out of them that legislature is being painted in the kind of light that it is not supposed to be, because I have been a member of the house and know exactly what they are doing”, he said.

The former House spokesman cautioned Gov. Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State against casting aspersions on the National Assembly.

He said the governor had taken the path of demonising the National Assembly because of ‘‘individual inclination’’ and his grouse with some lawmakers representing his state.

Mohammed described the governor’s recent outburst over the national Assembly budget as ‘‘hypocritical’’.

On his governorship ambition in 2019, the former commissioner said that he had the right credentials for the position.

He, however, acknowledged that Senate President, Bukola Saraki would have the last say as to “who becomes what” in Kwara.

According to him, Saraki is the head of the existing political structure in the state.

“I want to say we have a leadership in Kwara, we have a pattern, we have a tradition, a practice through which leaders or through those who govern us emerge.

“So as a member of that political family, I believe that when the time comes, the appropriate measure would be applied and at the end of the day the verdict of the leader will definitely be what we will abide by,” he said.

VIGILANTES ALLEGEDLY BEAT MAN TO DEATH WITH CHARMS IN OGUN STATE !

Tayo Olatunbosun,28, a busnessman, has been allegedly killed by two members of Vigilante Service of Nigeria (VSN) at Adiyan, a community in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The vigilantes, identified as Ismaila Jimoh and Hassan Olatunde, have been arrested by the police. The suspects were said to have nabbed Olatunbosun, who was selling phones and laptops, in the Adiyan area on Saturday for allegedly stealing a hair dryer.

The vigilantes reportedly beat Olatunbosun with charms and later took him to the Agbado Police Station about 10 p.m. Police later released Olatunbosun on bail and was subsequently admitted in a hospital in the community, where he gave up the ghost on Sunday.

In the wake of his death, angry youths, who claimed Olatunbosun was returning from a party when he was arrested, took to the street and vandalised the VSO office at Bakare Bus Stop on Adiyan-Orudu Road.

The mob also set four motorcycles ablaze. It was also learnt that a combined team of policemen from Agbado Division and Area Command, Sango-Ota, was deployed in the area to restore peace.

A resident of Adiyan, Bashiru Irewole, described Olatunbosun’s death as painful. He said: “Contrary to the stealing allegation, Olatunbosun was returning from a party when the vigilantes stopped him. They tortured him severely.

He eventually died in the afternoon yesterday (Sunday). “He was selling phones, laptops and their accessories. He was not a thief. They just wasted his life.” Irewole added that Olatunbosun’s friends mobilised and attacked the VSO office. “They burnt a motorcycle in front of the office and moved to Olomowewe area and burnt three motorcycles parked by the roadside,” he said.

Police were able to bring the situation under control later in the evening. As at yesterday (Sunday, police were still patrolling the community. The vigilantes, Jimoh and Olatunde, were later arrested by the Agbado Division.

A police source said the dryer purportedly recovered from Olatunbosun was brought to the station. The source said: “By the time the vigilantes brought him to the station with the dryer, he had being beaten up. He was released to go and treat himself, but later died in the hospital.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident. Oyeyemi said the suspects were being investigated for murder and would be charged to court later. He said: “The vigilantes said they arrested him for stealing. In the process, they beat him up. He eventually died.

The two vigilantes in question are in custody. The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that they should be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for proper investigation. Even if he was caught for stealing, that does not mean he should be killed.”

Two Nigerian men,Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony, 42, and Adibe Paschal, aka Oscar, 33, were  arrested for smuggling 1.27 kilograms of cocaine at Cambodia Airport.

Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony, 42, and Adibe Paschal, also known as Oscar, 33, flew into Cambodia from Nigeria in May last year on a Qatar Airways flight after a transit in Dubai.

They were arrested at Phnom Penh International Airport with over a kilogram of cocaine discovered in Anthony’s stomach, according to their confession at the hearing.

Anthony said that he was asked to swallow the drug capsules by a man in Nigeria named “Nandy”, who allegedly told him to bring the drugs to a man called “Okata” living in Cambodia.
“[Nandy] said Okata will give me food to eat in order to get the drugs out, and he will give me $8,000 as a transportation fee,” he said.
Paschal denied any knowledge of the drugs, claiming that he met Anthony for the first time at the Phnom Penh airport and that he came to Cambodia to buy clothes to sell in Nigeria.
“When I was at the immigration section [of the airport], I met Anthony and asked him for help to fill out the form. After passing the scan machine, they arrested us,” Oscar said.
Both suspects said they had not known each other before and that they only started chatting at the airport.
Phnom Penh Municipal Court presiding judge Heng Kesro on Tuesday, April 18th, ordered the postponement until April 28 to clarify what the relationship between the men was.
