GIRLS CHASED ME AWAY FROM ACTING~~ELESO

Nollywood veteran,Adewale Adeoye, aka Elesho,in a chat with Sunday Scoop, he gave his reasons why he was not on silver screen recently. .....

“A lot of people have been asking me this question lately. If you notice, many of the people in my category that we started acting at the same time are no longer that vibrant in the industry. It is because we are afraid of the type of scripts that the children are churning out these days. Even in my house, I cannot watch most of the films that are released nowadays because there is really nothing to learn from them. Many of the actresses don’t dress properly. And because we are not their parents, they don’t listen to us. You cannot expect people whose parents are not responsible to behave well. You cannot see people whose parents are theatre practitioners, or those who actually trained for the job, behaving badly. Another major issue which is killing the industry is piracy. Many of us borrow money from banks just to shoot movies, and at the end of the day, we are not able to recoup our funds because of piracy. There was a time I caught the person who pirated a particular movie of mine, and he threatened me that if I took him to the police station, he would come back for me. He told me that he used to be an armed robber, and that it was when they killed his gang mates that he started piracy. At that point, I had to let him go. The government really needs to do something urgently about piracy. If there are strong punitive measures for pirates, you would see that it would reduce drastically,” he said.

Speaking on what he did for fun when he was younger, he said, “I was born in the farm and we never went to the club in those days. Our parents were disciplinarians, and you couldn’t afford to behave badly. We didn’t even have the liberty to visit friends without informing our parents. Then, whenever my father was angry at me, my mother would also automatically be upset. I’ve never been fond of going to nightclubs, but I unwind in my own way with friends. I also belong to social clubs”

PHOTOS: LADY CUT OFF HER NEIGHBOR'S TONGUE FOR RITUAL PURPOSE

A lady simply identified as Ilerioluwa has been arrested at Ogudu, Lagos, for allegedly  cutting off her neighbor, Suleman Babangida’s tongue, supposedly for ritual purpose. The incident happened around midnight on Thursday, October, 5, 2017.

Narrating his own story, the victim, Babangida, said: “It was around 11:30pm when I came back home. Then when I was about to go and urinate at the bathroom, all of a sudden I just saw this lady that I usually call Ilerioluwa, at my back inside the bathroom.

I was like sister Ileri what’s happening, all of a sudden, she just choked my neck and I could not have the strength to scream out extremely. All I could see next was that my tongue had been cut down.”
Ileri was later arrested and the tongue retrieved from her. According to Babangida, she is currently being detained at the Kirikiri prison, after appearing in court on Friday.

Regarding his current condition, Babangida said: “Right now I can’t even eat or take something. I am in pain. The tongue can’t be reattached any longer. I’m not in any relationship with Ileri.

I respected her a lot and took her like a sister. She has nothing to say about what she did to me. The case has been adjourned till the 16th of this month.”

UNIBEN PROFESSOR MURDERED IN FRONT OF HIS HOUSE IN BENIN

Professor Paul Otasowie
Professor Paul Otasowie of the Department of Electrical Electronics Engineering, University of Benin, has been murdered by the armed men in front of his residence on Ekehuan road in Oredo Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday evening.

There was, however, speculation that the professor  was either assassinated  by cultists or gunned down by suspected armed robbers.nAccording to another version of the incident, the deceased , was allegedly shot during an attempted kidnap.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Michael Osasuyi, confirmed the incident to The PUNCH on Thursday.

Osasuyi stated, “We lost him (Otasowie) yesterday. We are trying to gather the right information now (because) we are getting different versions.

“The first version said that it was an assassination (while) the second version said that it was armed robbery, that he was inside a car and they shot him.”

He described the death of the professor as a huge loss to the university community, adding the deceased was a hardworking and dedicated staff.

Osasuyi said, “For now, the university cannot ascertain what has transpired. But we are sending delegates now to the house to meet with the family.

“We commiserate with the family and it is a big blow to the university. He was one of the persons who have ensured that work is done and done well.”

He, however, noted that the institution was concerned about the level of insecurity in the state.

“The vice-chancellor, Prof. Orunmwense is saddened with this development. We just wish that this insecurity in Edo State is looked into. Just recently, (Joseph) Osayomore was kidnapped.

“The level of insecurity now is becoming something else. The vice-chancellor commiserates with the family and the school is mourning,” the spokesman added.

"I TOLD NNAMDI KANU THAT NO NATION HAS SURVIVED CIVIL WAR TWICE"~~ CHIEF JOHN NWODO

The President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo and former Information Minister, Chief John Nnia Nwodo was in Umuahia, the Abia State capital,on the 6th October,2017,for the inauguration of the Abia State Chapter of leading Pan Igbo Organization........and said:

"This is my first visit to Abia State since after the unfortunate events of the past few weeks.
Some months ago, I invited Nnamdi Kanu to my house and we met for three hours. I told him clearly that both in my personal capacity and as President General of OHANEZE NDIGBO, that though there are structural imbalances and lots of injustices in Nigeria, I will never ever support any action that will lead to the shedding of blood in Igboland. No nation in history has survived two civil wars.

I saw the Biafran war with my two eyes. My father was the Minister for Local Government in the Eastern Regional Government of Dr. Micheal Okpara but I fought on the front lines. I was a full Lieutenant in the Biafran Army. I fought in Ore. I fought in Orlu. I fought in Enugu. I taught at the Biafran School of Infantry.

I worked for several months at the Biafran Airport at Uli and I saw first hand, the unimaginable carnage suffered by our people. Available records show that 1.5 million Biafran were killed in battle. About 1 million were killed by hunger and malnutrition while another 1 million remained unaccounted for. I saw our mothers, wives and daughters being violated.

At the Uli Airstrip, I saw the C160 planes that brought supplies for us as they carried hundreds of Biafran babies that were sick and malnourished. Most of them less than a year old. They were packed into the planes like sardines. More than half of them didn't survive the rigors of the flight as their tender heads hit the iron body of the planes during flight turbulence or air attacks. The ones that survived, more than half never came back home.

I told Kanu that war is not an option. I made that point clearly to him. I also told him to tone down his language. He should stop abusing the President of the Country and stop calling Nigeria a zoo. A zoo is where wild animals are kept. If you say Nigeria is a zoo, it then means that all of us are wild animals. Even if you don't like the President as a person, you must respect the office he occupies. In Igboland, we respect our elders. We don't abuse them in public no matter the level of difference. I told him to stop abusing our Governors. In particular, i told him to stop abusing the Imo State Governor by calling him Okoroawusa and questioning his paternity except you have the result of a DNA test which proved that his father didn't give birth to him. By questioning his paternity, you are indirectly abusing our wives and mothers. That is unacceptable.

I told him to stop calling the President a paedophile. That is wrong and I won't condone that. My own mum had her first child at the age of 13. In the olden days, once a girl attains puberty in Igboland, forms breast and starts menstruating, she is ripe for marriage. So, you are indirectly abusing the culture of our people.
IPOB wants an independent Biafra. OHANEZE NDIGBO wants a restructured Nigeria with strong regions and a weak center where each region will control her resources, have their own constitution while royalties are paid to the center to manage foreign affairs, immigration, defence, currency matters, etc.

Instead of talking tough and threatening fire and brimstone, let's work together and push for a restructured Nigeria. Let's sit down and talk with Abuja. If we form a common and united front, the Federal Government will listen to us.

Abusing the President will not give us Biafra. Abusing other tribes and calling them names will not give us Biafra. Telling Igbos to stop attending churches with Yoruba pastors will not give us Biafra. It will rather widen the gaps between us and these other people who themselves are victims of the injustices in Nigeria. It will annoy them and they will abandon us. We can't push this alone. We need the support of our neighbors. By abusing and threatening others, you put the lives of our people who live there in danger.

I said all of these to him and he refused and kept going on and on. At a point, they started abusing me too. Calling me names. I was never offended. They are my children. That is burden of fatherhood and I am prepared to bear it.

Our people have a saying "what an elder sees sitting down, a young person cannot see standing up". ........”

MYSTERIOUS' SSSS' CODE ON USA BOUND PASSENGERS BOARDING PASSES MEANS EXTRA SECURITY CHECKS AND DELAYS !

United States bound airline passengers who find 'SSSS' stamped on their boarding passes will face extra security checks and delays, it has been revealed.

This  innocuous (SSSS) code, which applies to travelers flying into the United States, stands for 'Secondary Security Screening Selection'. It means the pass holder has been selected to undergo a more extensive security screening process before boarding their flight.

The screening process, which may include bag searches, pat downs and validating identity, is conducted by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

The TSA insists travelers who receive the 'SSSS' are selected at random, but some have claimed they are pulled aside most times they travel, according to Lifehacker.
Buying one-way tickets or paying in cash could land passengers on the TSA's secret list and lead to frequent 'SSSS' checks, the publication said.

A passenger may be able to tell they will have to undergo additional checks if they are unable to print their boarding pass at the airport's self-check-in.
Failure to take part in the enhanced security screening will result in the traveler being denied boarding.
The scheme was introduced after the 9/11 terror attacks, to help security officials monitor potentially dangerous individuals from entering or leaving the U.S.

Secondary Security Screening Selection or Secondary Security Screening Selectee, known by its acronym SSSS, is an airport security measure in the United States which selects passengers for additional inspection. The passengers may be known as Selectee, Automatic Selectee or the Selectee list.  The number of names on the list fluctuates and is a secret, although the Transportation Security Administration apparently says there are tens of thousands of names on it.

The Selectee list has been cited by civil liberties groups to be infringing on privacy rights and potential for racial and ethnic discrimination
