DRUG WAR: NDLEA AIDS RELEASE OF NIGERIAN HELD IN SAUDI ARABIA FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), yesterday revealed efforts it made to ensure that Ibrahim Ibrahim Abubakar, a Nigerian held by Saudi Arabia authority for drug trafficking was set free.

According to the Agency’s spokesperson, Jonah Achema, Abubakar was released after three years of incarceration in Saudi Arabia following presentations from investigation reports by NDLEA that exonerated him.
Achema said: “Abubakar was arrested upon arrival in Saudi Arabia after his luggage was found to contain 1, 497 tablets of illicit tramadol. He has been standing trial since 2017 in Saudi Arabia where punishment for drug trafficking is execution. A delegation from Nigeria in Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM), and Zamfara State Government, the home state of Abubakar, arrived in Jeddah with documentary evidence provided by NDLEA for the trial slated for February 18, 2020. The documentary evidence included a correspondent from NDLEA stating that it had arrested and charged three persons who planted the Tramadol tablets on the defendant and a certified copy of the two counts charge sheet from the Federal High Court Kano. These documents were provided to the Saudi Court after which it ruled in favour of Ibrahim and discharged him.”
Achema noted that on December 15, 2017, a letter of complaint was written by Malam Gwani Sadiq Siddiq from Zamfara State seeking NDLEA to intervene on the arrest of Abubakar by the Saudi Anti-narcotic officials.
The Agency swung into investigation, which revealed that Abubakar travelled to Saudi on March 10, 2017, through Malam Aminu Kano International Airport and was arrested by the Saudi Anti-narcotic officials at Medina Airport for importing 1, 497 tablets of Tramadol. The substance was allegedly concealed in a bag and tagged to his passport at MAKIA by his travel agent named Mahmood Sani and two other handlers at the Airport, one Mrs. Celina Yaycock and Mr. Anthony Johnson. These suspects have since been charged to Federal High Court, Kano

COURT SETS ASIDE RULING SUSPENDED OSHIOMOLE AS APC CHAIRMAN

A Federal High Court in Kano on Thursday March 5. set aside the judgement passed by the Federal High Court in Abuja which suspended Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Though it is unclear if the court has the jurisdiction to set aside the previous ruling, it was however gathered that Justice Lewis Allagoa who gave the judgement ordered the police and Department of State Service (DSS) to provide security for Oshiomhole to resume in his office.

Vanguard reported that Justice Lewis Alagoa who ordered that the status quo ante Bellum be maintained, added that pending the hearing of the motion on notice by the applicant Aliyu Muhammad Rabiu, the defendants (the APC, Oshiomhole, IG of Police, INEC and DGSS) should not give effect to the purported resolution of Ward 10, Etsako local government area which suspended Comrade Oshiomhole.

BEWARE:THIS ISRAELI GUY IS A SCAMMER

A Nigerian journalist, Taiwo Alabi has warned the general public about an Israeli man who has been scamming  Nigerians for the past 20 years .
Taiwo Alabi who shared a picture of the man narrated that they first met in detention in Osun State where the man revealed that is occupation in Nigeria is scamming people.
Read below:
“I first met this man right here, an Israelite in Osun State CID detention where was detained for 2 weeks after I was arrested during a riot I was covering in Iwo, Osun State in September 2018.
He was brought in to my detention after he was arrested attempting to scam the then Osun State deputy governor with his accomplice. He spent like a week in the police detention before he was released. He was actually released the same day I was released. He paid roughly 300k or more than that before he was released.

In the cell, we got close with others and he made it clear to us that he’s been doing the scamming business for all his life and he has spent more than 20 years here in Nigeria while his family resides in Israel.
Yesterday, I saw him at Ogba Aguda when he entered a shop to buy stuffs, I approached him and introduced myself as a former inmate (laugh) and I saw that he could remember but denied not knowing me. He rushed into his car and order the driver to speed off.
Why am I saying these? I just want people to be careful around him and should not do or run business with him. He’s a full time scammer.

It also shows how ineffective our system isn’t working here, he wasn’t taking to court after he confessed to being a fraudster (well he will says he’s a businessman), he wasn’t deported back to his country.
He was allowed to call his partners when he was raising the money for his bail. Sad!”
