NIGERIANS DONATES TO FIGHT COVID-19 IN NIGERIA

                                                                  





Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation announced on Friday a donation of $30 million
Atlas Mara-backed Union Bank has also partnered with 54gene, a U.S.-based genetic research company, using a $500,000 funding facility to increase Covid-19 testing capacity in Nigeria to 1,000 daily.

United Bank for Africa Plc, another leading Nigerian lender, said it will donate about 5 billion naira ($13 million) toward providing assistance to the country and 19 others across Africa

Co-founder of Alibaba group, Jack Ma had recently donated medical supplies all the way from China.

 Aliko Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Femi Otedola, Tony Elumelu, Herbert Wigwe, Segun Agbaje and Jim Ovia —  contributed N1 billion  each to support the government in curtailing the pandemic in Nigeria.

Rabiu also urged other well-meaning Nigerians to join hands in supporting the efforts to put the virus in check in Nigeria, financially and otherwise. “Our country needs us now more than ever. This is the time to come together and support.”

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has announced that he will be making a donation of 200 million naira to fight the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

Also former President Olusegun Obasanjo has donated his former residence ,32-room facility located off the Presidential Boulevard, Oke Sari,  at the presidential hilltop, Abeokuta, Ogun state capital, for use as an isolation centre for victims of the coronavirus pandemic.

 Dr. Paul Enenche Dunamis of International Gospel Centre, DIGC, Wednesday, donated medical equipment worth millions of Naira to the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, to combat  COVID-19, outbreak.

“Pastor E. A. Adeboye through RCCG Christian Social Responsibility has donated 11 Intensive Care Unit beds across the country fully fitted with ventilators that will be most needed in the care for COVID-19 cases,” the church said.

RAPE: SCHOOL PROPRIETOR ACCUSED OF RAPING 9-YEAR OLD PUPIL




The proprietor of Liberation College, in Trikania, Kaduna has been arrested for allegedly raping a female pupil of his school.

 The proprietor identified as Mr. Samuel Ejikeme reportedly confessed to raping a 9-year-old pupil on tape.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development, Hafsat Baba who confirmed the incident advised parents to withdraw their wards from the school.


She tweeted;

    Parents with wards at Liberation College, behind Govt Model Sch, Trikania are advised to withdraw them from the school. Pic is Mr. Samuel Ejikeme, proprietor of the school, allegedly raped a 9-year old girl. He confessed on tape. We're yet to establish if there are other victims

    It is really troubling to hear that administrators and teachers who are supposed to be pillars of support and protection to our wards are turning predatory. Please parents should speak more to their daughters and sons to ease exposure of these beasts in human skin.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai also directed the Kaduna Quality Assurance Authority to immediately withdraw the school’s license & close it down.

He tweeted;
    THANKS COMMISSIONER: The Kaduna Quality Assurance Authority should immediately withdraw the school’s license & close it down. KASUPDA should look into its development permit and take further action within two weeks. Mr. Ejikeme must be detained & vigorously prosecuted.

Some wedding ceremonies and a church service holding at Berger Park, Wuse Zone 6 and another  @ Chist Embassy church ,Jabi-Utako area in Abuja on Saturday, were shut down by officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) enforcement team.

The FCTA tweeted;

COVID-19 FACT: CORONA VIRUS IS NOT AIRBORNE

                                                                        


The World Health Organization (WHO) has debunked a myth which suggested that coronavirus is airborne and can remain in the air for 8 hours.



The international health agency in its tweet, stated that the virus is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes or speaks. It added that the droplets are too heavy to hang in the air and falls quickly on the floor and surfaces.



However,some of the protective measures the WHO listed include keeping 1m distance from other people, disinfecting surfaces, washing of hands.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: MAN ALLEGEDLY STABS PREGNANT WIFE TO DEATH

                                                                           



A pregnant woman,Rita Onyemauchechukwu Onyebuchi,  has died after her husband,Mr Ikechukwu popularly called "Agbada",  allegedly stabbed her to death just two months after their wedding.

On Tuesday, March 24, her younger brother Onyebuchi John Paul, who works in the same company with her noticed she wasn't at work - a rare occurrence. He called her but she wasn't picking her calls.

After work, he went to her house in  Ezimezi village, Amawbia, Anambra state, but saw the door to the house locked. He also noticed that his sister's husband's car was not in the compound.

He went home then called the husband but his number was switched off.On Wednesday, his sister didn't show up at work and their mother, who is suffering from high blood pressure, was already worried.



On Thursday morning, March 26, the brother stopped by his sister's house on his way to work and saw a crowd, including police officers, gathered in the compound.He was led into the house where he saw the decomposing body of his sister lying in a pool of her own blood.



John Paul revealed that his sister is 2 months pregnant and he took to Facebook to call for justice for his murdered sister and her unborn baby.


He wrote;
Dear compatriots am writing this with a heavy heart, a heart that seeks for justice and wants the law to take its full place about what I will say. ......
