ABRACADBRA:FAKE LIFESTYLE OF CELEBRITIES IN NIGERIA

The veteran filmmaker,Wale Adenuga, who spoke while opening a new Pefti institute in Ibadan, said;“Many people are oblivious of the fact that many of the young Nollywood actors and actresses who live flamboyant lifestyles make their money outside film making. They make people believe everything is alright in the film making.” “You see them building big houses, living in affluence, but their source of money is beyond making the film.”

TONTO DIKEH took to Instagram, advised her fans to stop letting social media deceive them,;in her words;
“I wish alot of you knew how Good you are doing before coming up here to watch our organized, specifically made to make you think alls well post…
I can only show you what I want you to see,Same as every celebrity out there..
What we may never show you is how some of us are truly using their last money to look good..
It isnt a bad thing but you seeing it wld want to kill for it NOT knowing MANS NOT LOADED…Bottom line sisters and brothers where ever level you are in LIFE, GIVE THANKS..
ITS GONNO GET BETTER”

SAIDI BALOGUN  in his words said; “It is always better to be yourself. I am myself, I don’t believe in the saying that you are addressed the way you are dressed. I believe that people should be judged based on their intellectual prowess and not by their appearance. I can ride okada from Lagos to Ibadan. I believe in doing what makes me happy.”

DELE ODULE: Some of these guys are just using this industry to cover up. They are not genuinely in love with the trade and this makes them to ignore ethics of the profession; which include orientation and discipline. Character is also Germaine in becoming a successful role interpreter.

“The pressure people put on celebrities can push some of them to get involved in some deals that they are not supposed to do. They force them to live fake lives”

SALAWA ABENI RELEASES HER NUDE PICTURES TO STOP BLACKMAILER

Waka Queen, Salawa Abeni, has exposed a man threatening to blackmail her with old semi-nude pictures sent to her privately.

Abeni displayed a screenshot of the conversations between her and the fellow on her Instagram handle and narrated the story to her fans.

The Waka Queen said the man wanted to destroy a career she had laboured to build for over 45 years now but would not consent to such.

“Good morning my family, friends, fans. I have something very important to tell you and I will appreciate your audience. I am very disappointed that someone somewhere will try to tarnish my image and threaten to destroy my career of over 45 years.

“This morning, I received messages from somebody threatening to expose very old pictures of me and in the process blackmailing me for money. These could have been pictures of me in the hospital or even with my partner, but is this what has become of us?

“I plead with everybody out there to be very careful as our current situation has made people very desperate.

“I am almost 60 years old, I have worked very hard and made a name for myself for somebody to believe that they can threaten and trample on my feelings, this is very sad.

“So I have decided to share the messages and pictures sent by this person with everyone for you all to see!

“Thank you and God bless you! For you the blackmailer, I refuse to be bullied by you as I am sure that I am old enough to be your MOTHER!!,” she said.

OYEDEPO DONATES AMBULANCES -MEDICAL RESOURCES-FOOD ITEMS

Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel ) has made donations of ambulances, test kits, personal protective device (PPE), medical resources and food items, to the Lagos and Ogun State governments, to assist in the fight against the COVID-19  in Nigeria.

According to a statement from the church signed by Professor Sheriff Folarin, Chairman, Editorial and Media Board, Living Faith Church Worldwide (LFCWW), “The global coronavirus pandemic has reached dangerous dimensions, with a spike in infection numbers around the world, and inevitable adverse effects on the global economy and on virtually all areas of human endeavour.

“Living Faith Church as a faith-based organisation with a global outreach wishes to register its support, in entirety, to the Nigerian government and global efforts to win the war against this unseen but common enemy of mankind.”
He said that among the medical/health resources donated are two state-of-the-art ambulances with capacity for first aid, test and treatment of those infected or on emergency resulting from the infection.

Professor Folarin noted that “Each of the ambulances will be donated to Lagos and Ogun States, to boost the disease control measures and treatment.

“Other items include 20 cartons of latex hand gloves (10 boxes per carton), 10 cartons of disposable face masks (40 boxes per carton), 40 pieces of the infrared thermometer (gun-shaped type), 500 pieces of personal protective device (PPE) Hazmat suit, two boxes of the pulse oximeter (10 per box), and two cartons of blood pressure monitor (10 per carton).

“Taking delivery of the ambulances and other medical items on Monday, Presiding Bishop, David Oyedepo maintained that the church would continue to render medical, material and spiritual support to the government and the people to ensure that the situation in Nigeria does not explode or become intractable. Bishop Oyedepo personally upholds the principle of giving and catering for the needy, which are the hallmarks of the ministry under his leadership.

“Also received are food items, which are meant for immediate distribution as palliatives to the less privileged who are likely to be the worst hit by the lockdown. These are 400 bags of rice, 150 bags of beans, 400 bags of garri, 500 gallons of vegetable oil, among other items.”

According to the professor, “Living Faith Church Worldwide has a long history of being one of the few churches that often rise to the occasion to support human rehabilitation during and after major crises in Nigeria.
“Also, it has, over the years, rendered humanitarian assistance to some countries in Africa during post-war reconstruction. These usually run to hundreds of millions of Naira in financial value.

“In 1994, Winners’ Chapel was the first faith-based organisation outside Rwanda to send materials and money for the rehabilitation of a people traumatized by a 100-day genocide that took the lives of about one million Rwandese.

“The famous stone-age Koma Hill settlement discovered in the late 1980s had its first school, church, potable water and modern clothing in the 1990s at the instance of Winners’ Chapel. One of the little kids from Koma was sponsored by the church up to tertiary education and had his first degree from Landmark University and is currently completing his Master’s degree programme at Covenant University. These two institutions are owned by Winners’ Chapel.

“Aside from the annual responsibility of disbursements of tens of millions to rehabilitate state, federal and international roads in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Ogun State, there is the David Oyedepo Foundation (DOF), which offers scholarships to indigent students and children of hundreds of poor Church members, from primary to university levels. The church’s engagement in offering scholarships to indigent students began in 1992.

“There was however a significant curve between 2012 and 2019, as scholarships offered were in excess of 1.3 billion naira (specifically N1,368,627,763).”

He said that “The ministry barely makes noise about this philanthropy and responsibility to the nation and children of God, inspired by its belief in the biblical admonition that all acts of kindness should not be for showmanship- ‘for, the Father who sees your secret kindness shall reward openly.’ Nevertheless, the church will not relent in offering help and partnering with government at all levels and responsible agencies, to tame COVID-19 and other monsters such as hunger and illiteracy, that have, in more recent times, short-changed humanity.

COVID-19; MIKE ADENUGA FOUNDATION DONATES N1.5 NILLION TO COMBAT CORONA VIRUS

The Mike Adenuga Foundation (MAF), established by Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., has donated the sum of N1.5 billion  to support Nigeria’s fight against the global Coronavirus pandemic, otherwise known as COVID-19.

The money is made up of N1billion to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which is coordinating efforts to raise funds from corporate bodies to support the initiatives aimed at combating the COVID-19 in Nigeria, and N500 million to the Lagos State Government, which has recorded the majority of the cases of the pandemic.

Mrs. Bella Disu, Executive Vice Chairman of Globacom, presented the N500 million cheque to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in Lagos today, Monday, while a representative of the Foundation presented the cheque for N1 billion to the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele in Abuja.

In addition to the financial contributions, the Foundation said it would continue its on-going efforts to assist various bodies and institutions in the country with the supply of such essential items as Sanitizers, Masks, Test Kits, Personal Prospective Equipment (PPEs), Respirators and other necessary requirements to combat the pandemic.

As part of its own response to ensure the safety of Nigerians while the pandemic lasts, the Mike Adenuga Foundation advised all to take measures to ensure their safety in line with the guidelines provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). These include regular hand washing and use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, limiting non-essential travel and ensuring timely medical checkups.

COVID-19: BENUE INDEX CASE CASE CRIES TO PRESIDENT TO RESCUE HER FROM ORTOM

According to Yemi Itodo,a 54-year old Susan Okpe, who was said to be the Benue index case of Corona Virus, has cried on President Muhammad Buhari of Nigeria and the British Government, to evacuate her from Benue state.

Governor of Benue State, Dr. Samuel Ortom had on Saturday, 28th March, announced that Mrs. Okpe was the Benue's first recorded case of Corona Virus, also known as COVID-19.

Mrs. Okpe, a British Nigerian, arrived the country on Saturday, 21st March via Kenya Airway, for the burial of her mother slated to hold early next month.

According to a family source, Mrs. Okpe ran series of tests before leaving the United Kingdom with all results showing negative to COVID-19.

"When she arrived Benue State on the 23rd of March, she was running temperature, perhaps, due to the fatigue of traveling, an experienced Doctor was contacted and tests were conducted and she was being treated for malaria and typhoid.

"When the NCDC contacted me, on the invitation of the Benue State government, I gave my consent that she should be tested. But as I speak with you, none of us has seen the test result, not even the Medical Director of the Cottage Hospital who assisted the NCDC to get samples, has seen the result. We only got to see through the television where the Governor announced her name", the source hinted our reporter.

Meanwhile, in a message sent via WhatsApp to our reporter, Mrs. Okpe appealed to the Federal Government and the UK Government to move her out of Benue State.

"I have kept my cool, but am now sick with swollen gums, being stooling throughout the night, no nurses or medical attention. My crime is that am a British who came into Nigeria, particularly Benue State; felt feverish, took myself for check up because I have travelled longer than usual.

"After examinations, I was told by the doctor my temperature was high and I said keep me for observations as I did not experience any before I left London, passed from Lagos to Abuja my temperature was like any other passenger was being monitored by the authorities.

"Back to my self presentation and request for isolation which was done, I was told by the doctors that the standard procedure was to call for a test from the state ministry of health of which two gentle men came to do a throat and nose swoop.

"After two days, by now my temperature has normalised from 38:2 to 36:4 the record are there to be verified. Only to be told by the Doctor after asking why am I still kept in the hospital, a friend now came in to tell me that a press conference is being done with my name that I have Covid-19, on air, on social media, without my knowledge.

"I went mad as a human being and demanded to see the Medical Director who told me he was fighting for me; how, why and for what and with who I don’t understand, still fuming the next thing was armed men, ambulance and a siege round the hospital for me to be removed for what I don’t know.

"As someone who knows the principles of the law (weather it works in Nigeria or not I can’t tell), I said I was not moving without a reason, I was surrounded and to stop the embarrassment to my family and poor junior sister who I think is not fair on, I went down to speak with the Deputy Governor for thirty minutes and he assured me I was safe, will be cared for, though not sick with any symptoms, also that the following day the health commissioner and medical doctors from the state will come and see me.

"I told him that if the state is insisting that am ill I should be taken to Abuja to be tested, I have never in my life seen a staged played drama with human life and politics like this before, I want the world, Nigerians, Benue state to hear my side and verify am not a Covid-19 positive, left my children behind in London they are healthy till this moment", Mrs. Okpe cried out.

She pleaded with the authorities concerned to take her to any standard center and verify her claims, as there was no single facility in Benue to even handle or manage any case, should it be true that Benue had a case.

Already, our reporter gathered that, the Consulate General of the UK in Nigeria had been contacted by Mrs. Okpe, whose fundamental rights have been grossly breached and arrangements were underway to get the Presidency to help the British Embassy evacuate her citizen from Benue State, before it results to death.
