WHAT'S THE BEEF BETWEEN TOYIN ABRAHAM AND ENIOLA BADMUS?

Currently, both star actresses are currently promoting their movies , it seems the movies have the same theme and thrust. Abraham’s movie is titled "The Ghost and the Tout " while, Badmus’ movie is titled "Ghetto Bred".
Many felt that Badmus wasn’t pleased that Abraham was portraying herself as a ‘ghetto bred,’ hence her social media updates. She had written on Instagram, “There is no point sugar coating or stealing title…ema lo wa o (don’t come).” Shortly before that, she had written, “There can only be one ghetto bred produced by Eniola Badmus.”

However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Badmus denied that there was any rift between her and Abraham. She said, “There is zero beef between me and Toyin. We are very good friends. People always read different meanings to things but it’s not always as it seems. All I am doing right now is to promote my movie and I have gotten a lot of love from colleagues.”

Explaining the concept behind the movie, Eniola said, “I play the role of a dramatic taxi driver with the soul of a tomboy who lives in a ghetto with her educated elder brother. My character is an energetic and aggressive lady that never thought of having a boyfriend but later fell in love. The movie, which cost millions of naira, features top comedians and Nollywood actors.”

STORY OF:TEMITOPE AYONI OLAIYA DRUG BARONESS THAT PLEADS GUILTY TO DRUG IN USA

A Nigerian woman pleaded guilty today to leading a conspiracy to import more than five kilograms of cocaine, as well as to her role in a separate bank fraud scheme, and to making false statements relating to fraudulent claims submitted to Medicaid for reimbursement.

“Tammy Olaiya is a ‘triple threat’ of criminality – drug trafficker, a fraudster, and a liar,” said G. Zachary Terwilliger, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. “Olaiya, a Nigerian immigrant who has spent the last two decades with the privilege of living in the United States as lawful permanent resident, clearly has zero respect for American laws pertaining to our borders, controlled substances, our financial system, or our health care system.”

According to court documents, Temitope Ayoni Olaiya, aka “Tammy”, 40, a Nigerian national residing in Hyattsville, Maryland, recruited men from the greater Washington, D.C. area to act as drug courier; i.e., to travel to foreign countries to obtain drugs to bring back into the United States.  Olaiya opened bank accounts in the couriers’ names, assisted them in obtaining passports and visas, and booked their travel arrangements. The couriers that Olaiya recruited traveled primarily to São Paulo, Brazil, where they picked up kilogram quantities of cocaine hidden in the lining of soft-sided briefcases or attaché cases. Altogether, law enforcement seized nearly seven kilograms of cocaine at three different U.S. airports from three separate couriers recruited by Olaiya.

“Every single Medicaid dollar is precious and must be carefully guarded,” said Maureen R. Dixon, Special Agent in Charge for the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. “Accordingly we will continue working with all our law enforcement partners to preserve these vital funds.”

In addition to the cocaine importation scheme, Olaiya also submitted falsified and fraudulent claims to the D.C. Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF), a health care benefit program funded by Medicaid. Olaiya worked as a personal care aide for various home health agencies in the Washington D.C. area, and in order to receive payment for services rendered, Olaiya was required to submit timesheets signed by her clients documenting the services rendered. Instead of submitting time sheets for time actually worked providing health care services, Olaiya recruited Medicaid recipients to act as her “patients” and to sign her falsified timesheets in return for a small amount of money as a kickback. On at least two occasions, Olaiya billed DHCF for home health services she claimed to have provided while she was out of the country.

Separate and apart from the cocaine importation and the home health services scheme, Olaiya also used her African goods business in Maryland to carry out a bank fraud. Olaiya used accounts with payment platforms Square and Stripe to make fraudulent charges on stolen credit card numbers. Between June and December 2017, Olaiya submitted, or caused to be submitted, $381,500 in fraudulent credit card charges to the Stripe account. Thereafter, Olaiya switched over to Square, and in the course of about two months, racked up more than $100,000 in fraudulent charges. When Square informed Olaiya that the true account holder had challenged the transaction, Olaiya created handwritten, falsified invoices documenting items purportedly purchased by the account holder, and provided the fake invoices to Square.

Olaiya pleaded guilty to conspiracy to import five kilograms or more of cocaine, bank fraud, and making false statements relating to health care matters. She faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison for the cocaine importation charge when sentenced on Feb. 28, 2020. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

NIGERIAN COUPLE JAILED 15 YEARS FOR CHILD ABUSE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT IN UK

A Nigerian couple living in Rochdale, U.K., has been jailed for a string of child abuse and sexual assault.

Shola Ogundare, a 49-year-old male, has been jailed for 15 years after appearing at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday, May 15, whilst Olwafunmilayo Emmanuel, 35, has been jailed for 4 years for her role in the crimes.

In July 2018, police were made aware that a young girl had reported being abused by Shola Ogundare, 49, and Olwafunmilayo Emmanuel, 35.

An investigation was launched and officers established that the girl had been physically and sexually abused by the man named Ogundare and physically abused by Olwafunmilayo Emmanuel. Enquiries also established that a young boy had been physically abused by Ogundare and Emmanuel.

Ogundare and Emmanuel were arrested and taken into police custody for questioning. They were subsequently charged and pleaded not guilty.

Following a one-week trial, a jury found Ogundare guilty of attempted rape of a child, sexual assault by penetration of a child, sexual assault by touching of a child, causing a child to watch a sexual act, cruelty to a person under 16 and four counts of assault.

Ogundare was sentenced at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court to 15 years in prison, while Emmanuel was found guilty of four counts of cruelty to a person under 16, and sentenced to four years in prison.

Detective Constable Russell Clarke, of GMP’s Rochdale district, said: “First and foremost I would like to commend the victims for their strength in seeking help and disclosing what had happened to them. Both children have demonstrated incredible courage throughout our investigation and this trial, especially considering their age.

“Abuse of this kind often has a long-lasting impact on victims but I sincerely hope that they can move forward with their lives – free from the fear of being abused.

“Ogundare subjected these children to a prolonged campaign of abuse. Under the pretence of punishment, he sexually abused one of the victims to satisfy his most repulsive desires. Throughout this investigation, he has shown no remorse and the things he has said to try to evade justice have been beyond comprehension.

“Emmanuel also subjected the children to physical abuse and has also shown no remorse. She has repeatedly defended Ogundare and tried to discredit the victims.

“I hope today’s result sends a clear message to members of the public and offenders alike that police officers will do everything in their power to see justice done.”

EX-BEAUTY QUEEN HELEN PREST IN TROUBLE AS EX-HUSBAND CHILDREN DEMAND PROBE FATHER'S DEATH

A former beauty queen, Helen Prest is currently embroiled in trouble over the circumstances surrounding the death of the late founder and Medical Director of First Foundation Medical Limited, Lagos, Dr. Tosin Ajayi, who was said to be her lover.

The five children of the deceased have started taking steps to unravel the circumstances behind the death of their father and the missing of some vital documents of their father’s business empire.

In a letter written to the Chief Judge of Lagos State, the children called for the investigations of Dr. Ajayi’s death and demanded the vital documents said to have been missing after the man’s demise as they suspected a foul play. The late Dr. Ajayi was said to have begun a relationship with Helen Prest over a decade ago.
The children claimed that Helen was never legally married to their father, and that the marriage between him and their mother was never dissolved.

A source in the family said, “The five children are all accomplished. Two of them are medical doctors, while the others are also successful and well educated in their own right.

They kept in touch with their father regularly, but he became unreachable apparently when he got sick and was possibly in hospital by then.“Weeks before his death, he was no longer answering phone calls and they got worried.
Helen took him to hospital without the knowledge of any of the children. She was the first to know about his demise and never informed any of them.
“According to the children, they reliably learnt that their dad had been in hospital for about four weeks prior to his demise. They only got to know after he had passed away but not from Helen.“We were told that after his death, Helen went to his First Foundation office in Ikeja and made away with some items.”
The children were allegedly barred from viewing his corpse, which was deposited in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital’s private mortuary.
The family source added that; “The children tried to see their father’s corpse and made arrangements with Helen. For a whole week, it was one story after the other; so, they decided to go to the mortuary themselves.

They were, however, barred from seeing the corpse.“ So, they proceeded to the Ikeja Police Division and made a complaint against Helen and the mortuary. It was only after the police intervened that they were allowed to see the corpse.”

Sources close to the children revealed that they have vowed to take the matter up with the former beauty queen and retrieve all the documents relating to their father’s business, which they said included those relating to bank and financial transactions.

When contacted on the telephone, Helen said she was still mourning her husband and would not be able to speak. Human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN), has reportedly confirmed the steps being taking by the children of the deceased.

“It is true. We have written a letter to demand a coroner’s inquest. The children want to know the circumstances surrounding the death of their father. That is all I can say for now,” Falana said.

The late Dr Ajayi was a wealthy physician and businessman, and had interests in many companies. He first came into prominence in October 1986 when he tried to save the late publisher of the Newswatch magazine, Dele Giwa, after a parcel bomb exploded on him.

A family friend of the Ajayis said that the deceased and his wife, Oluyemisi, a retired Chief Nursing Officer with the Lagos State Government, were legally married for over 45 years even though they were estranged as of the time of his death
